Patting down 6 year olds, feeling-up grandma and all types of stupidity continue in this country because the law (or its interpretation) doesn't allow us to profile passengers.
No doubt it’s the most effective way to catch terrorists and keep us safe, but pleasing a few liberal judges and the ACLU is more important than the safety and welfare of our citizens.

We want the government to be allowed to make profiles of potential terrorists, yet we don't want them to violate our privacy. The TSA cannot do both. In order for them to make assessments based on potentialities, there will be a small amount (and in a world of 6 billion and counting people that small amount could be millions of people) who suffer needlessly. @abarr. Did you watch the same video? Rep Paul said to Pistole, "It makes me think you're clueless". He also demanded he address his ridiculous statement that, "Air travel is a privilege." I agree that the TSA is largely populated with sociopathic control freaks. Paul is at least calling them to task.

RP fumbled it. Having this conversation with Pistole gives his function legitimacy. When JP said pat-downs were based on Christmas Day intelligence, RP should have stopped him.
