I have all this ... version: 2.1.3 Make sure you installed all of your content for motion etc. . I had the same problem (none of the cool backgrounds/Textures) and called Mac Support and I just didnt install all of the content from final cut studio

am I the only one that thinks these live fonts are cheesy? I mean, come on! these would only go on people's home videos... on second thought, the average person probably thinks these are good... way to go for the little guy!

yeah I totally agree with you there! The problem is people think that you just use the standard effect and don't add and build on top of it! Motion works in the same way - you have to add and create on top of what they give you to make it look better! Any monkey can drop a behaviour on to text!

i forgot what the program is called now, but i used to have it before my computer got taken away because i gave the wrong person a virus and he sort of gave me a worse one. But its a program the runs on windows but makes livetype think its on a mac so it runs, this program only worked for LiveType though.

I just got finalcut studio, and I am short on space, so I was considering skippnig the 2 livetype install discs. researching online to see what they were all about led me to this. so I just wanted to say thanks for the info!

If you want to save on space, dont install the soundtrack pro content, it takes up 25gb!

I mean like... the "trailing shadows" bullet in the movie Matrix?

I wanted to make some fictional movies with my friends, won't to be professional like The Matrix but I would be good to have special effects and such.

livetype is the sh!t. i use it in almost every one of my vids. you should try using one of the included templates.

@bettykoyle I recognized that one you're talking about actually, it comes with soundtrack pro, usually when you buy final cut pro, it gives you 5 other programs, motion, which is like after effects, livetype, which up until now I had no idea what it did, color, which is an advanced colour (I'm writing in Canadian English) correction software, compressor and soundtrack pro. I just wanted FCP, but since I have access to all of the other software I thought I'd learn to use them

I don't believe so. It appears Apple only sells it bundled with FCE. The same goes for Soundtrack.
