@bland9876 First,this not a hack of Sonic 2,though the special stages in Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn) are Sonic 2's in 3D for the most part.

Second,Sonic Mega Collection has the GENESIS version of Sonic 3D Blast. Yes,there are some differences,like the Saturn having new special stages and a completely new soundtrack. The SATURN version of 3D Blast has never been ported on to any other consoles to my knowledge. Thank you for your time.

@MichaelWillik Download an emulator - you can probably use the original disc with it, as PCs can read Saturn discs (and most non-Nintendo discs for that matter).

@SomeFluffer64 ummm .maybe you havent noticed, but the whole fucking game was in 3D. The special stages were done a bit haphazardly and lazy, but the main stages were pretty 3D. Everything had a decent depth of feel and shadows. I used to own and play this game to death. This game was 3D to the core. Not bad for Sonic's first time off a 2D playing field.

@MASTERtoken ctually, the game is made using 2-D sprites that were made to LOOK 3D. Sure you can kove in all directions, but the graphics were 2-D. Look at the graphics closely, and you'll see what I mean.

The Sega Saturn version is the ONLY good version of Sonic 3D Blast. It had cool graphics with nice 3D special stages that are based off of Sonic 2. The Genesis version was okay but the special stages were boring. The PC version was a mess. The graphics were inferior to the Saturn version and the special stages were worse than the Genesis version.

These are still my favorite special stages in any Sonic game. I wish you'd done some rolling in some of them, since that was my favorite thing to do.

Did rolling make you pick up speed or something? It's been so long since I played this game, I can't remember if rolling actually has any functional purpose or just looks cool.

Sorry for the late response. You might have to check your BIOS and region settings and experiment a bit with the two. I remember with Mr. Bones I could operate the bios screen and the game loaded fine, but the title screen wouldn't accept any input. A little bit of trial and error fixed that even though some parts of the game don't play correctly.

Thanks for this video! I was never able to beat that final special stage as a kid on the Saturn. If there was a save feature, you bet, but I wasn't good enough as-is. It's nice to finally see that awesome stage again.

I wish the Sonic games went this route, rather than the Adventure route.
