@crocodileman94 Yep, The pc version has the genesis version of the game. on the sega saturn version graphics are smoother, there is different music, and the special stages look like this.
@bland9876 i agree with SestrenNK remove your comment, because i played the sonic 3d blast the version of mega collection is the original genesis/megadrive version i played that and the sega saturn version, the sonic 3D blast of sega saturn has this special stages, yeah embarasing no? please remove your comment quickly
@bland9876 First, this not a hack of Sonic 2,though the special stages in Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn) are Sonic 2's in 3D for the most part.
Second,Sonic Mega Collection has the GENESIS version of Sonic 3D Blast. Yes,there are some differences, like the Saturn having new special stages and a completely new soundtrack. The SATURN version of 3D Blast has never been ported on to any other consoles to my knowledge. Thank you for your time.
Man they should bring back the tunnel thing lol. Btw I can imagine the emeralds r like "dang its boring here, this my zone blah blah until a hero comes along and robs me of my valuables" lmao
Out of all the incarnations of the 'Tube' Special Stage (in games like Sonic 2, Heroes, Rush, etc.) this looks like the best version. Why couldn't Sega tack the Saturn version onto Gems Collection?
WTF?? I don't remember the special stages were like that (yes i'm talking about the saturn version not the genesis version of sonic 3d blast) i had this game on my pc
@SestrenNK Na don't worry about it. I played this game for like one year and all of a sudden I mistakenly pressed down and started rolling and was like "!!!!!!??????"
whoa these actually look WAY better than the PC version, which I grew up with by the way, and the genesis one as well but damn this just looks...AMAZING O.o
@MichaelWillik Download an emulator - you can probably use the original disc with it, as PCs can read Saturn discs (and most non-Nintendo discs for that matter).
aww, look at sonic ! hes fuckin awesome :D i dont understand why sega would change sonic to what he is now, he waay cooler than the new design of him ^.^
@zyriuz2 I have no idea either. I guess they changed the design to make it look more 'realistic' or something like that. But honestly it looks like shit and clashes with the Sonic series' poppy and colorful graphical style.
@SomeFluffer64 ummm .maybe you havent noticed, but the whole fucking game was in 3D. The special stages were done a bit haphazardly and lazy, but the main stages were pretty 3D. Everything had a decent depth of feel and shadows. I used to own and play this game to death. This game was 3D to the core. Not bad for Sonic's first time off a 2D playing field.
@MASTERtoken ctually, the game is made using 2-D sprites that were made to LOOK 3D. Sure you can kove in all directions, but the graphics were 2-D. Look at the graphics closely, and you'll see what I mean.
The Sega Saturn version is the ONLY good version of Sonic 3D Blast. It had cool graphics with nice 3D special stages that are based off of Sonic 2. The Genesis version was okay but the special stages were boring. The PC version was a mess. The graphics were inferior to the Saturn version and the special stages were worse than the Genesis version.
@UNCHARTEDuniverse Wow I just looked at the PC version and you weren't kidding! That's pretty awful looking! I only own a Genesis, so I'll stick with what I have (at least it's not the PC version).
@UNCHARTEDuniverse I know. A little part of my dies every time the Genesis version in bundled in Sonic compilations, as opposed to eminently superior Saturn version. Of course a little part of me dies every time every time they make a new Sonic game. The best Sonic compilation is Sonic Jam.
@ksalvodon Yup! Thing is, I'll see something that I'll really want but'll just never get round to buying! Ah well, as long as I've got my Cyber Troopers!
How cute, a perfect example of someone trolling so they can go to sleep thinking their dick somehow got a little bigger. Aw, insecure people with nothing better to do with their lives are so cute to watch.
These are still my favorite special stages in any Sonic game. I wish you'd done some rolling in some of them, since that was my favorite thing to do.
Did rolling make you pick up speed or something? It's been so long since I played this game, I can't remember if rolling actually has any functional purpose or just looks cool.
@AzukaraMegaDriver I understand why they did a re-vamped version of the special stage from Sonic 1, but because this one is similar enough to Sonic 2, they should use this (maybe with some changes) in episode 2.
Sorry for the late response. You might have to check your BIOS and region settings and experiment a bit with the two. I remember with Mr. Bones I could operate the bios screen and the game loaded fine, but the title screen wouldn't accept any input. A little bit of trial and error fixed that even though some parts of the game don't play correctly.
Thanks for this video! I was never able to beat that final special stage as a kid on the Saturn. If there was a save feature, you bet, but I wasn't good enough as-is. It's nice to finally see that awesome stage again.
I wish the Sonic games went this route, rather than the Adventure route.
