From the clips I had already seen of Troughton, I already knew that a lot of what I enjoyed about Doctor Who was in abundance in his era, and watching your videos has made me want to see some of his adventures even more.
Wow, Fury from the Deep sounded amazing, especially that haunting shot that appears in the intro of the guy with the wide mouth and STAAAAARING eyes! Love the Jaws and bubble bath references, BTW.
In fact the producer during the Fifth Doctor's era, John Nathan-Turner, asked for the device to be written out early in the Fifth Doctor's run because it was becoming an overused plot device. Hence why it didn't come back until the 1996 Doctor Who movie and now it's gained a boatload more features in the new show.
With Doctor Who I'll admit I'm not a huge follower and Ive only seen the Fourth Doctor Tom Baker on PBS when I was younger and the new series Doctor Who with the Ninth,Tenth and the Eleventh Doctor. I enjoy your Doctor Who episode reviews I find them educational and if you can send me a link to the Doctor Who reproduction website I can play catch up with the older Doctor Who episodes.since I'm a bit out of the Doctor Who loop and go back to thrashing Voyager I hate Neelix too.
So, in the 60s it was acceptable for a Scot to half-ass his own traditions by wearing a kilt together with snow-appropriate clothing, in the Himalayan winter? Guess he still held true to being stubborn.
So Chuck, you find the Yeti to be a little too cute to be frightening yet you don't find the Daleks to also be rather adorable? Granted the Daleks would be cuter if they were mute the entire time. Their voices are probably the main reason you have to take them seriously.
Will the "Lost in Time" series end with Troughton and Space Pirates? I remember you saying there were lost Pertwee episodes, but Wikipedia says they're all present and correct, just not all in colour.
@Foebane72 Thank you. Pertwee episodes were lost but have been found. The only things that are still missing are color versions of some episodes. I'll be stopping with the Space Pirates.
@trlkly Yeah I know that but I like the Voyager ones since I hate Voyager and Enterprise as much as he does and those shows always need a good thrashing not to mention those horrible PC games based off of Voyager and Enterprise which I'll upload and review once I get a better video editing setup and a microphone and find copies of the games too. What is sfdebris link for email and how do I request reviews? You may have use PM since links don't show up in the comments.
@nintendobard He only takes direct requests if you pay him, and I'm not sure if he's even accepting that at this time. All his info is available on sfdebris (dot) com.
Chuck, the Dalek saying "I am your servant" - isn't it like those Daleks in the nuWho story "Victory of the Daleks"? In that, Daleks helped the allies in WW2! Before they were destroyed by what I call the iDaleks (those big, bulky coloured Daleks with the humps which everybody hates).
I was wondering what the range of available scores for these episodes are. We've had Must See, which is better than Strongly Recommended, which is better than Watchable. That can't be all; I'm new to the show and have yet to find one truly bad episode (the one with the face-stealing TVs probably came closest) but there must be some shit in there. I can't imagine that over such a long run even the worst episode never got below objectively mediocre.
Thank you for a brilliant series!

Also, what's going to be next for Doctor Who reviews, whenever that may be?

So what is this trope that older than we think? The Screwdriver? The Chameleon circuit? Doctor romance?
This is the most enjoyment I've gotten in a long time on YouTube.

@trlkly
The Sonic Screwdriver.

Someone just couldn't resist making a Highlander reference....

So if you were going to use a time machine to record the lost Doctor episodes would you:
- Use it to go to the specific dates in question to record the episodes as they air?
- Establish a fake TV station to receive and copy the original recordings?
- Put a satellite in orbit to record the episodes?

Great episode, I especially liked that you covered Power of the Daleks' more human elements, but there's a slight mistake.
The Welsh are the ones who have the sheep jokes made about them generally.

@Tseuhadon I live in Caithness in the North of Scotland, and i've heard my fair share of "sheep shagger" jokes.

@joecool280 Huh. First i've heard of that.

Yay, we saw the regeneration. Not only did it look great, but apparently there was a good story in there, too. Awesome!
