This is 1 of my pieces for my grade 2 next Wednesday. Hope I can keep it together on the day. Am I right in thinking (hoping) that you don't play the repeats as shown in the sheet music? My teacher says not and they're not played on the CD, and you don't play it here, but I'm paranoid I'm going to get a nasty surprise
does it matter if i miss out some bits? my fingers are too small for some parts!:L i just finished my grade 1 and im doing grade 2 in 5 months so wish me luck:)
about the staccato, on the discs that come with the books, the person plays it with staccato. also, there is another book, that says it should be played with staccato, but it is not indicated in the piece.
This is where its difficult! Even though no staccato in the music is indicated, it sounds much better and more lively with staccato in the LH chords. My student will be putting the staccatoed left hand chords in, and we will wait to see what the examiner says. I think they should have put the staccato marks on the chords in music if in fact thats what the examiner wants.....
Outstanding!! 94/100 Definitely a distinction. And 'chichim123450' I think the staccato touches are excellent!! In the exams: examiners are looking for expression!! Lovely and forte was excellent maintained the whole way through!!
i'm playing this also. i used to play it like this but my teacher showed me that my rhythms needed to be tighter, and it sounds much better, you could try it.
Wow man, you're a god!

Funny how people who criticise have no uploads of their own.
This piece brings back memories.

The examiner will actually give you marks for doing the staccato. They will allow a certain amount of musical interpretation.

@SlySimz thanks slysimz, my student put in the staccato left hand and got a distinction of 135:)
