That wasn't the same AT&T. The old AT&T (remember mlife?) was called AT&T Wireless and it's based in Washington state. The AT&T today is called AT&T Mobility which is the same as Cingular, a whole different company from AT&T Wireless, but renamed to AT&T coincidentally and it's based in Atlanta, Georgia.
