star trek was fun but had problems; the story veered into goofy at times, the big fight on the space elevator was like a round of Mortal Kombat, ridiculous plot moments (kirk, lost on a barren waste planet rolls down a hill into spocks house), the villain was boring, Old Spock was an annoying dick who killed his entire species, and why were there adverts for Budweiser in the federation???
did u know that in star trek during the explosion of the space ship in the beginning if u zoom in a lot of a very small white dot it is actually r2d2 from star wars
i am a HUGE star trek (I refuse to get into the extremely stupid arguement of trekkie/trekker).This is the type of thing i thought they were going to do with the show ENTERPRISE but didn't...anyway,i loved this movie and the ONLY reason i wouldn't give it a 10 is because of the stupid ending.honestly, who would give the command of the flagship of the federation to someone just out of the academy...they could at least have said it was a couple of years later
i love star trek (2009) and almost all of the older movies not including star trek the nxt generation movies i hated 1 and 5 the rest were pretty good
I have never watched a star trek episode before the movie. After I saw it I wanted to watch every episode. The main reasons I LOVED this film was that the plot was brilliant, the character cast was perfect, and I'm a big fan of lens flares.
My dad is a hard core Trekkie, we even have a Star Trek coffee cup (in which I had my first cup of coffee from in front of my mom) and I saw it with him and I kinda liked it. It's very entertaining.
Star trek lost my hope for love the moment that stingray goes over the cliff, it uncalled for and didn't have any real point for the movie... they just hate corvette's.
LOL obviously lens flares are going pose a problem to you, Jon. You wear glasses! LOL! so its like two lens flares! He he! Anyway, I loved the movie. And I love the flares effect. It gives it a sense of being at the spot! :) Evolution! Adapt, or die! LOL
mmm ok i know what you are talking about mmm but i kinda like them... its something like in the michael bay movies, he always makes scenes with sun-flares(?)xDD
To get that effect (transporter) just right you needed to make some filler where you showed the backdrop without you in front of it. Just a simple 1/2 a second filler makes the effect that much more appealing to the viewer.
yea i have a blu ray player i got 4 xmas and this movie was the first i watched and i havent watched it before nor have i many blu rays anyways the movie blew me away with the amazing twist and x10 action and enjoyment all though im a big Harry Potter fan i must say this is movie was better than some of the harry potters. you should also do a movie night on G.I. Joe the rise of the cobra its a really good movie too.
however my trekkie boyfriend hates it and wanted to assassinate chris pine -.- Yet every other trekkie i know loved it.. I think my boyfriend is just a hater rofl
The new movie was good but I'm one of those die-hard types that did not appreciate the changes in the timeline. I'd like to see that timeline repaired in the next movie but I'm not holding my breath. Instead, I expect it to continue morphing into something that eventually won't be Star Trek at all.
no, comperd to star trek TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9,VOG, ENT, and the 10 movies the new star trek was just made for the simple minded people who like flashy FX and loud noises (no't directed at you Jonny, you are an inteligent person) simply put, the new star trek stole ideas from other star treks and it was an un original movie that made me cry for the deth of star trek TOS and the rest to come.
Before I watched the new Star Trek film, I didn't want to like it, because it seemed to appeal to the casual crowd of movie goers, and attract teens that know nothing of Star Trek. I did end up liking it though.

This movie was good as far as the graphics, other then that JJ Abrams should go screw himself!
By the nature of the plot, it does not step on hallowed ground at all. It creates a whole new yet familiar playground. Give it time... you and your 10k buddies will be dressed up like Eric Bana at conventions all over the world and have a good time doin it.
Jonny, I'd just like to say you're presence in these vids is getting much better. You're obviously getting much more comfortable in front of the camera! This may be my new favorite youtube show!
Angels & Demons was a very well thought out movie in my opinion. Ewan did a very good job in filling his role as Camerlengo(Which I found funny, since most Catholic's were against Starwars.) Also, Tom Hanks once again did a fine job in portraying Langdon. Although a bit from the book was left out, I thought it was very good. I would've prefered if they stayed more to the book, letting the fourth Cardinal die, and the Great Elector become Pope, but meh, everyone's a critic.
the thing with funny people is that i expected a comedy. its even listed as one but it really isnt. its depressing and real. its a drama and i was disappointed with it because i expected a comedy.
Angels and Demons was an ok movie. They kept to the plot of the book quite well, but added a few more action scenes to keep it interesting. My only complaint is that in the DVD trailer, they say it's a sequel. Heads up; not only did Dan Brown WRITE the book first, but it also TOOK PLACE before the DaVinci Code. I didn't see Funny People, but its 2 main characters were Jews, so it gets a 10 out of 10.

wrongly quoted, 'as far as i KNEW' i subbed u a while ago, sorry for not studying every person i subscribe to. anyway I'm not going continue this. its obvious you are infinitely smarter than me, and i obviously don't know what I'm getting into when i subscribe to a person i think i like. too bad i was wrong.
Funny People was an alright movie, but I'm glad I rented it before I bought it. It had its ups and downs, but overall, I think it's just a rental you can have a couple of laughs with.
FYI: it is NOT in any way shape or form a Prequel. It brings in an alternate reality that never existed. Kirk's father is Alive in the original series
Angels & Demons was, in my opinion, definitely an improvement over The DaVinci Code, but that's not really saying much. It didn't really impress me, but it did have its moments. 7/10.
i thought DaVinci code was a better movie, but Angles & Demons was a better book, however, the movie was still pretty good, thank god Tom Hanks got a haircut for this one!
Funny People: Another crappy Adam Sandler movie, although among crappy movies it's not terrible. I'd give it a 5.
Angels and Demons: A great book becomes a nightmarish movie. I'd almost rather have my skin removed with a potato peeler than watch this movie again. 1 out of 10.
I love how they have a 50s Corvette in the movie which in that point in time im almost positive that one would not exist it would of just been a pile of nothing underneath the ground, they should have gotten a brand new ZR1 Corvette or something very modern because that would of been more belivable to see in that time period.
Angels & Demons was an incredible book. one of my favorites. but the movie was not quite as good. it was still an incredible movie, but the book was still a bit better. i'd say 7 or 8 at best.
Like Turk said, there should be reviews on movies that were released into theaters, for that would allow other people to know what's good. One thing I did like was when you did review a movie that's been out as well, like when you did Back to the Future... Maybe you could put up weekly polls of which older movie to review for next week.
Angels and Demons was a really well done film. The characters were well developed, and the story was well thought out. I did have a problem with how the plot went down the same path as The DaVinci Code as I was able to actually figure out the ending before hand, but the path that lead to it was still well thought out. I recommend this movie to anyone who want's a good movie to buy, if not rent.
As a book, Angels and Demons is one of my favorites. The movie killed it, shat on it, ate it, and then puked it up. The only good thing about it was the cast - they were amazing, and extremely believable as the characters. So I'd give it a three at best.
I agreed with you up until the point where you said you liked the cast. Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon is probably the most miscast role ever. And no, I'm not exaggerating.
I haven't seen either of these movies, so i can't comment on it.. I've gotta say though i wasn't a fan of the book Angels and Demons was based on, so i don't really wanna see the movie, i'm curious what others will think of them though, so i'll tune in to the next video.
@Gothhana why not? A lot of people do it all the time. Comment to your hearts content making shit up. Like that book report you did with the book you never actually looked at.
Turk435 - Thanks for the suggestion, but I want to focus on older movies, so more users can participate. This is less about providing recommendations, and more about discussing movies we've all seen.
Angels and Demons was an excellent book, and i think the movie followed. It had good actors, a good plot and an unbeatable sound track! A truly excellent movie!!!
Angels and Demons script was crap, it made the book look like shit, the actors were shit, and the scenes where completely off. Overall ranking = COMPLETE SHIT(under Rank 0).
Angels & Demons was a really great movie. I did not read the book but my friend did and she said that it was adapted really well with some slight changes here and there. I will read the book to form my own opinion but the movie was great.
I'm not sure how good Pirate Radio is, but I would HIGHLY recommend *not* going by Rolling Stones Magazine's rating... mostly because RSM is well, frankly, largely a bunch of again hippies who hate change. I could list the examples, but you may as well read their wikipedia article's "criticisms' section. Anyway, I'd also recommend taking it's portrayal with a grain of salt, because if Rolling Stones loved it, it almost certainly over-portrayed hippies as being the "good guys" in all situations.
I think Angels & Demons was good. Like in every other novel adaptation, the book was better. It was quite alot to wrap your mind around, if you haven't read the book. The biggest thing that was changed was that one of the perferriti actually became Pope.
I might have liked Angels and Demons if I hadn't read the book just a week or so before. The book is far better, and many of the changes to the story are both unnecessary and degrading. Changing a character's death is a bitch, changing and removing multiple characters is mainly pointless, and modifying many events ruined the characters and story. Instead of wasting your time with this film, read the book, or do

ThisIsOurHouseCoach - Well, unfortunately, "as far as you know" was not the real situation at all.
Try checking a channel's main page out next time before subscribing - might learn what you're getting yourself into.

wrongly quoted, 'as far as i KNEW' i subbed u a while ago, sorry for not studying every person i subscribe to. anyway I'm not going continue this. its obvious you are infinitely smarter than me, and i obviously don't know what I'm getting into when i subscribe to a person i think i like. too bad i was wrong.

NEW MOON~ I thought it was well done, but some parts were not good. I don't think it was nearly as good as the first, I'd give it a 7

Seriously, review a GOOD movie next time.

So, you stop revewing 3 movies to make your videos shorter, but then introduce a new segment?I would rather 3 movies.
musicontheweb 2 years ago
Like Turk said, there should be reviews on movies that were released into theaters, for that would allow other people to know what's good. One thing I did like was when you did review a movie that's been out as well, like when you did Back to the Future... Maybe you could put up weekly polls of which older movie to review for next week.
jish55 2 years ago
Angels and Demons was a really well done film. The characters were well developed, and the story was well thought out. I did have a problem with how the plot went down the same path as The DaVinci Code as I was able to actually figure out the ending before hand, but the path that lead to it was still well thought out. I recommend this movie to anyone who want's a good movie to buy, if not rent.
jish55 2 years ago
As a book, Angels and Demons is one of my favorites. The movie killed it, shat on it, ate it, and then puked it up. The only good thing about it was the cast - they were amazing, and extremely believable as the characters. So I'd give it a three at best.
rejectofreality313 2 years ago
I agreed with you up until the point where you said you liked the cast. Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon is probably the most miscast role ever. And no, I'm not exaggerating.
emotaco9 2 years ago
I haven't seen either of these movies, so i can't comment on it.. I've gotta say though i wasn't a fan of the book Angels and Demons was based on, so i don't really wanna see the movie, i'm curious what others will think of them though, so i'll tune in to the next video.

@Gothhana why not? A lot of people do it all the time. Comment to your hearts content making shit up. Like that book report you did with the book you never actually looked at.

Huh? Lol i think i misunderstood your comment. Plus i'm not a very good liar, so that would be a bad idea. :3

hey guys
in the interest of getting your views up and subscribers, i would reccomend you do more recent movies that are just coming out.
Anyways, this was a good review and im looking forward to the next "movie night

Xanofar 2 years ago
