  • big bang theorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyy

  • wheres da boooooooobbbsss

  • star trek was fun but had problems; the story veered into goofy at times, the big fight on the space elevator was like a round of Mortal Kombat, ridiculous plot moments (kirk, lost on a barren waste planet rolls down a hill into spocks house), the villain was boring, Old Spock was an annoying dick who killed his entire species, and why were there adverts for Budweiser in the federation???

I liked Bones. i didnt like anyone else.

  • What is this movie all about?. I have not seen this movie yet.

  • What ya gunna do? JJ Loves his lens flares xP

  • He held the phone a mile from his ear - _ -

  • This is the most views movie night will ever get because of the name

  • @glowcode - While I don't disagree with your logic, it needs over 3.5 million views to catch up to the #1 Movie Night episode.

  • The word "Boobs" brought me here.

  • I really liked Star Trek I thought It was very funny, most of the people I know call me weird for liking it cause I'm a girl

  • I love Star Trek and I felt like this movie really added to saga.

  • did u know that in star trek during the explosion of the space ship in the beginning if u zoom in a lot of a very small white dot it is actually r2d2 from star wars

  • "Set your phasers to fun"!!

  • ???LOL???LOL???LOL???

  • @Jon you thought the series started lacking in the 2000s? with all do respect, are you out of your vulcan mind? lol

  • I was a nonfan until this movie! I heart Spock!

  • @Galygal77 Vulcans are total douches. Go Watch the series "Enterprise" and you'll find out why.

  • I wish that the "Turn Off Annotations" Button disabled the ad.

  • set your phazers to fun...

    ^gay.

  • That lens flare in over half of the clips pissed me off

  • The funny thing is....I never noticed the lens flare! I guess I just love the movie that much!

  • sorry...star trek FAN

  • i am a HUGE star trek (I refuse to get into the extremely stupid arguement of trekkie/trekker).This is the type of thing i thought they were going to do with the show ENTERPRISE but didn't...anyway,i loved this movie and the ONLY reason i wouldn't give it a 10 is because of the stupid ending.honestly, who would give the command of the flagship of the federation to someone just out of the academy...they could at least have said it was a couple of years later

  • the ugly truth can easily get 7 or 8 it is really funny and interesting

  • Star Trek was epic :D

  • Jon, I respect all opinions, but I wonder, even if I am not a Trekkie, should I watch the Star Trek Movie?

    -Daniel

  • @dangerdantheone - yeah, definitely - it's a great movie.

  • why is boobs in the tags?

  • @iammadrightnow wait...nevermind

  • J.J. Abrams?! The maker of LOST and Cloverfield?! Dammit I need to see this movie!

  • i love star trek (2009) and almost all of the older movies not including star trek the nxt generation movies i hated 1 and 5 the rest were pretty good

  • Jarod Butler?

I thought it was Gerard Butler...

  • see this right here avatz..net change .. to .

  • I have never watched a star trek episode before the movie. After I saw it I wanted to watch every episode. The main reasons I LOVED this film was that the plot was brilliant, the character cast was perfect, and I'm a big fan of lens flares.

  • My dad is a hard core Trekkie, we even have a Star Trek coffee cup (in which I had my first cup of coffee from in front of my mom) and I saw it with him and I kinda liked it. It's very entertaining.

  • I agree with Film Brain.

  • star trek movie sucked

  • FTL - French The Llama

  • @KingOSketchKomedy Nerdfighter? DFTBA

  • Jon this is actually a Alternate Reality

  • @Shuvza Star trek i mean

  • Star trek lost my hope for love the moment that stingray goes over the cliff, it uncalled for and didn't have any real point for the movie... they just hate corvette's.

  • @RennisTora due it was a CG corvette

  • this new Star Trek film actually got me interested in the series. I would give this an 8.5 out of 10.

  • romantic comedies...i have no fucking words for these abominations

  • does she really get naked in transformers??? thats amazing.

  • star treck sucked my dick

the only part i actually liked about it was its action scenes

  • The lens flares blow totally and the story also blows. Having seen it all the way through I'll give it a carved in nutronium 1, it's garbage

  • Just make a video that actually has naked women in it.

  • John Cho? :O

  • but the lens-flares are such a big part! D8

  • the lens flare was ridiculous at times, most agreed.

  • the lens flare was ridiculous at times, most agreed.

  • Zombie Land and Law Abiding Citizen Are AMAZING

  • Kinda reminds me of the newer episodes of At The Movies a little.

  • Star Trek was an amazing movie, however, I don't know why, but the film seemed to go by very quickly for me, but hey, Star Trek was incredible.

  • LOL obviously lens flares are going pose a problem to you, Jon. You wear glasses! LOL! so its like two lens flares! He he! Anyway, I loved the movie. And I love the flares effect. It gives it a sense of being at the spot! :) Evolution! Adapt, or die! LOL

  • One thing i love about Gerard Butler is that he's good at acting in so many different roles from different genres. He's like a utility knife.

  • WHAT does he say in minute 2:24 ??? im sorry im colombian and i did not catch why he got pissed off xDD

  • chimbaman19 - I said that the lens-flares in Star Trek pissed me off a bit.

    - Jon

  • mmm ok i know what you are talking about mmm but i kinda like them... its something like in the michael bay movies, he always makes scenes with sun-flares(?)xDD

    thx for the answer

  • To get that effect (transporter) just right you needed to make some filler where you showed the backdrop without you in front of it. Just a simple 1/2 a second filler makes the effect that much more appealing to the viewer.

  • Laserous65 - Yeah, but that's tough to do when the shots are identical.. I tried that, but it looks really weird.

    - Jon

  • yea i have a blu ray player i got 4 xmas and this movie was the first i watched and i havent watched it before nor have i many blu rays anyways the movie blew me away with the amazing twist and x10 action and enjoyment all though im a big Harry Potter fan i must say this is movie was better than some of the harry potters. you should also do a movie night on G.I. Joe the rise of the cobra its a really good movie too.

  • I absolutely loved Star Trek '09 :D

however my trekkie boyfriend hates it and wanted to assassinate chris pine -.- Yet every other trekkie i know loved it.. I think my boyfriend is just a hater rofl

Btw, Amazing performance by Chris Pine as Kirk.

  • I have the particle software you used for the beam effect XD

  • im bored

  • you can't beam down from the bridge...you have to go to the teleport.

  • sprnaturalcraze - It was a site-to-site transport.

Someone doesn't watch Star Trek much, do they?

    - Jon

  • My dad didn't like Star Trek much cause Spock was emotional.

  • Crappy.

The ugly truth is stupid beyond reason.

I mean, why portray females as weak and needing romance, needing a man to be her pillar of strength?

Are the guys really that desperate to the point that there is a demand for such a film?

It is an insult to our intelligence and soundness of mind for god's sake!

Therefore, I believe such movies should be passed of as garbage.

  • The new movie was good but I'm one of those die-hard types that did not appreciate the changes in the timeline. I'd like to see that timeline repaired in the next movie but I'm not holding my breath. Instead, I expect it to continue morphing into something that eventually won't be Star Trek at all.

  • I didn't even watch the star trek movie, the original sword-fighting scene was way better than the trailer for this, so I didn't bother.

  • no, comperd to star trek TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9,VOG, ENT, and the 10 movies the new star trek was just made for the simple minded people who like flashy FX and loud noises (no't directed at you Jonny, you are an inteligent person) simply put, the new star trek stole ideas from other star treks and it was an un original movie that made me cry for the deth of star trek TOS and the rest to come.

  • simple minded? the plot was actually pretty complicated

  • Five stars for ultimate geeky phone sound.

  • 3+3-3=3 =3

  • did you know at the part on 2:58 it shows R2D2? Pretty cool i think! :)

  • how do you change the background? you use a green screen and a software i suppose, but which?

  • I shit my pants when he destroyed that Vette.

  • love the movie

  • Before I watched the new Star Trek film, I didn't want to like it, because it seemed to appeal to the casual crowd of movie goers, and attract teens that know nothing of Star Trek. I did end up liking it though.

  • Really?!?! this is the internet get used to it

  • BrickAction101 - Well... I could change it to "Tits In Space!" - is that any better?

    - Jon

  • Comment removed

  • Am I the only one who didn't like the new movie? I mean, the characters were great, but it relied on waaaaay too much action to try and make it cool.

  • i saw star trek last weekend, and i thouroly enjoyed it

  • Bullshit. They were just desperate for a way to write the original Spok into the script. It's a useless irrevelant plot twist that takes a huge stretch of common sense to accept. Only a dorky treky can convince himself that this was cool , or even possible.

  • does it really matter if it's possible? it's science FICTION.

  • Star Trek was a good movie that I watched it twice. And one reason was because of Chris Pine ;) aha

  • nice effects.

  • the star trek movie was amazing!! ive never watched the original star trek but i loved the movie! it was brilliantly shot (with all of the artsy lens flares lol) and it was awesome lol :)

  • love love love love love Zach Quinto.

  • I woulden't have hurt to put John Trevolta as Captian Kirk

  • ...I liked those lens flares...

  • this movie was good has made millions and no1 gives a fuck about trekkies or watever they call themselves...

  • no JJ abrams screwed it up. he stepped on holy ground and screwed with it! all im going to say is he made star trek what the new generation wants, blood and guts! hes a Dick bag, and i with about 10k other Trekkies will not buy this. (trust me Trekkie's are not happy). Also i bet most people don't even know that Robert April was the original captain of the enterprise. This movie was good as far as the graphics, other then that JJ Abrams should go screw himself!

  • By the nature of the plot, it does not step on hallowed ground at all. It creates a whole new yet familiar playground. Give it time... you and your 10k buddies will be dressed up like Eric Bana at conventions all over the world and have a good time doin it.

    No disrespect intended.

  • fuck u

  • the ugly truth is all ugly and no truth

  • damn you jonny! every time I see the movie now I'm going to notice the lens flares that'll drive me crazy!

  • Thanks for posting these reviews! Your Rate-O-Matic is really cool! I am totally subscribing!

  • The effects were fantastic! Very nice.

  • Jonny, I'd just like to say you're presence in these vids is getting much better. You're obviously getting much more comfortable in front of the camera! This may be my new favorite youtube show!

  • shouldn't the thing at the start say "Tonight's Movies" instead of "Today's Movies"? It is after all, Movie Night.

  • Angels and Demons was pretty good, but i almost covered my eyes at the death scenes. Angels and Demons - FTW

  • star track movie was bad ass I loved it!!!!

  • Angels & Demons was a very well thought out movie in my opinion. Ewan did a very good job in filling his role as Camerlengo(Which I found funny, since most Catholic's were against Starwars.) Also, Tom Hanks once again did a fine job in portraying Langdon. Although a bit from the book was left out, I thought it was very good. I would've prefered if they stayed more to the book, letting the fourth Cardinal die, and the Great Elector become Pope, but meh, everyone's a critic.

  • The Book was great... read it in a day! Still haven't seen the movie yet.

  • SUP!

  • the thing with funny people is that i expected a comedy. its even listed as one but it really isnt. its depressing and real. its a drama and i was disappointed with it because i expected a comedy.

  • Angels and Demons was an ok movie. They kept to the plot of the book quite well, but added a few more action scenes to keep it interesting. My only complaint is that in the DVD trailer, they say it's a sequel. Heads up; not only did Dan Brown WRITE the book first, but it also TOOK PLACE before the DaVinci Code. I didn't see Funny People, but its 2 main characters were Jews, so it gets a 10 out of 10.

  • MynameisNamtful - Well, the movie is a sequel. There are a few scenes in the film that reference the previous film, actually.

    - Jon

  • I'm not saying it was a bad movie; I liked it. I'm just saying that some of the facts don't match up. No offence intended.

  • ThisIsOurHouseCoach - Which is curious... because you SUBSCRIBED TO MY VARIETY CHANNEL! ...

Here's a thought smart ass... if you don't want to watch something, maybe you shouldn't subscribe to it? If you *only* wanted to watch the microwave show... maybe you should have subscribed to *just* that show?

    I don't know... just a thought.

    - Jon

  • ur variety channel? as far as i knew when i subbed this was about microwaving , nothin else as far as i knew. srry if i dont like ur 5 minute intros and ur babbeling about star trek.

  • ThisIsOurHouseCoach - Well, unfortunately, "as far as you know" was not the real situation at all.

Try checking a channel's main page out next time before subscribing - might learn what you're getting yourself into.

    - Jon

  • wrongly quoted, 'as far as i KNEW' i subbed u a while ago, sorry for not studying every person i subscribe to. anyway I'm not going continue this. its obvious you are infinitely smarter than me, and i obviously don't know what I'm getting into when i subscribe to a person i think i like. too bad i was wrong.

  • your dumb! stop talking. your making us exponentially less intelegent by posting garbage

  • angels and demons was good

  • Funny People was an alright movie, but I'm glad I rented it before I bought it. It had its ups and downs, but overall, I think it's just a rental you can have a couple of laughs with.

  • Am I the only one who thinks Awesome is more Awesome than amazing?

  • FYI: it is NOT in any way shape or form a Prequel. It brings in an alternate reality that never existed. Kirk's father is Alive in the original series

  • fix your face befor i fix it for you

  • Angels & Demons was, in my opinion, definitely an improvement over The DaVinci Code, but that's not really saying much. It didn't really impress me, but it did have its moments. 7/10.

  • sooooo booooorrrringg!!!!!!! no one cares

  • i thought it would be a movie about what the title says...

  • i thought DaVinci code was a better movie, but Angles & Demons was a better book, however, the movie was still pretty good, thank god Tom Hanks got a haircut for this one!

  • "Are you out of your Vulcan mind?!"

    I love Star Trek

  • NEW MOON~ I thought it was well done, but some parts were not good. I don't think it was nearly as good as the first, I'd give it a 7

  • lol this is so corny.

  • you guys should do a reveiw for role models

  • Movie Was Great, book was better, movie was still great. 8/10

  • ive seen unfunny people which was done by collegehumor and it wasnt bad. this wont help but meh...

  • You pronounced it Jared instead of Gi-rard. That's kind of funny.

  • lawl thats what chick flicks need; douchbaggery.

  • Funny People: Another crappy Adam Sandler movie, although among crappy movies it's not terrible. I'd give it a 5.

Angels and Demons: A great book becomes a nightmarish movie. I'd almost rather have my skin removed with a potato peeler than watch this movie again. 1 out of 10.

Seriously, review a GOOD movie next time.

  • I love how they have a 50s Corvette in the movie which in that point in time im almost positive that one would not exist it would of just been a pile of nothing underneath the ground, they should have gotten a brand new ZR1 Corvette or something very modern because that would of been more belivable to see in that time period.

  • 5:07 This is sparta!!

  • Angels & Demons was an incredible book. one of my favorites. but the movie was not quite as good. it was still an incredible movie, but the book was still a bit better. i'd say 7 or 8 at best.

  • So, you stop revewing 3 movies to make your videos shorter, but then introduce a new segment?I would rather 3 movies.

  • Like Turk said, there should be reviews on movies that were released into theaters, for that would allow other people to know what's good. One thing I did like was when you did review a movie that's been out as well, like when you did Back to the Future... Maybe you could put up weekly polls of which older movie to review for next week.

  • Angels and Demons was a really well done film. The characters were well developed, and the story was well thought out. I did have a problem with how the plot went down the same path as The DaVinci Code as I was able to actually figure out the ending before hand, but the path that lead to it was still well thought out. I recommend this movie to anyone who want's a good movie to buy, if not rent.

  • As a book, Angels and Demons is one of my favorites. The movie killed it, shat on it, ate it, and then puked it up. The only good thing about it was the cast - they were amazing, and extremely believable as the characters. So I'd give it a three at best.

  • I agreed with you up until the point where you said you liked the cast. Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon is probably the most miscast role ever. And no, I'm not exaggerating.

  • I haven't seen either of these movies, so i can't comment on it.. I've gotta say though i wasn't a fan of the book Angels and Demons was based on, so i don't really wanna see the movie, i'm curious what others will think of them though, so i'll tune in to the next video.

  • @Gothhana why not? A lot of people do it all the time. Comment to your hearts content making shit up. Like that book report you did with the book you never actually looked at.

  • Huh? Lol i think i misunderstood your comment. Plus i'm not a very good liar, so that would be a bad idea. :3

  • hey guys

in the interest of getting your views up and subscribers, i would reccomend you do more recent movies that are just coming out.

Anyways, this was a good review and im looking forward to the next "movie night

  • Turk435 - Thanks for the suggestion, but I want to focus on older movies, so more users can participate. This is less about providing recommendations, and more about discussing movies we've all seen.

    - Jon

  • Frekin awsome and i love the swift kick in the ass lol and i love these movie thing frekin awsome

  • Did you just say "set your phasers to FUN?!?!?" Seriously? Seriously. Seriously? /unsubscribe...

  • Coolsization - I did so VERY tongue-in-cheek.

    - Jon

  • Angels and Demons was an excellent book, and i think the movie followed. It had good actors, a good plot and an unbeatable sound track! A truly excellent movie!!!

  • hey i think you should switch around number six and seven on the rate-o-matic ( you know like good should be seven and cool should be six)

  • Wow, I loved the "beam me up" thing!

  • Angels and Demons script was crap, it made the book look like shit, the actors were shit, and the scenes where completely off. Overall ranking = COMPLETE SHIT(under Rank 0).

  • Angels & Demons was a really great movie. I did not read the book but my friend did and she said that it was adapted really well with some slight changes here and there. I will read the book to form my own opinion but the movie was great.

  • angels and demons was a great movie

  • whats with the oriental curtain.

  • angels and demons was good but i dont really think that what happened could really ever happen

  • Funny people = People that are not funny.

  • YOU ARE LOVELY AND CUTE !

  • I have not seen Angels and Demons but Tom Hanks is in it so it must be good

  • I'm not sure how good Pirate Radio is, but I would HIGHLY recommend *not* going by Rolling Stones Magazine's rating... mostly because RSM is well, frankly, largely a bunch of again hippies who hate change. I could list the examples, but you may as well read their wikipedia article's "criticisms' section. Anyway, I'd also recommend taking it's portrayal with a grain of salt, because if Rolling Stones loved it, it almost certainly over-portrayed hippies as being the "good guys" in all situations.

  • I think Angels & Demons was good. Like in every other novel adaptation, the book was better. It was quite alot to wrap your mind around, if you haven't read the book. The biggest thing that was changed was that one of the perferriti actually became Pope.

  • :( I want him to review the invention of lieing

    I hear it's quite funny

  • I might have liked Angels and Demons if I hadn't read the book just a week or so before. The book is far better, and many of the changes to the story are both unnecessary and degrading. Changing a character's death is a bitch, changing and removing multiple characters is mainly pointless, and modifying many events ruined the characters and story. Instead of wasting your time with this film, read the book, or do
