The stuff they don't seem to like as much is some of their more interesting work. Fans generally do not like Metallica not to be Metallica. They've always been mediocre musicians though. Cliff Burton? Now he's a different story. I was blown away seeing him solo. At the time, it was quite something. I don't know how it'd hold up today but I remember it being very impressive.

What most people fail to realise when they say that ''Bass isn't ment to be played with a pick'' is that the original mass produced bass (The Fender P bass) was MENT to originally be played with a pick. Bet you fags didn't know that. Anyway, a good bassist knows that to become the best of your ability you have to utilize all the techniques and use them depending on what your doing.

Lars is not the best drummer. Kirk is not the best lead guitarist. But, put them all together, and you get one of the best bands in rock history. Why? Because they play as a whole, they play only what is necessary in each part, not what they feel like playing nor what they are capable of playing 24/7. Team work.

If you hate on the guys with delrin fingernails, I'd like to see you learn all the techniques that come with pick playing. It's called bass guitar, and last I checked guitars are played with picks (except for Knomfler of course.)
