this is not well permormed..this should be sung more gently...it seems sometimes that one wants to sound louder than the other, this is what I hate in opera sometimes..specially women..they want to overshadow the one to another..well they are women..but don't get me wrong I love opera..but sometimes they get to competitive...and this aria needs to be sung more subtly..

Wow, Larmore sounds different here than she does in her 2009 rendition w/ Brigitte Hool. I think she sounds deeper here because of her weight. It's as if her body is weighing her down. Now, she looks amazing after her weight loss; even her face has practically changed.

I know this is a silly comment, but I never quite realized how petite Jennifer Larmore is until this video! I have seen both singers live in different productions. Hong is little, and Jennifer is her size!

Anyhow....I saw Larmore doing Italian Girl, and she was absolutely fantastic (though the production was ridiculous!), and Hong is just incredible. I saw her doing Liu and The Countess at the Met. Such a special artist. Thank you for posting this!
