@Codebear4 , actually, they were both born in the former U.S.S.R,and many Russians lived in Ukraine and vice versa. Just like many Russians lived in Uzbekistan, but where not Uzbekis. Same thing is true in Moldavia: you could be of Rumanian descent, or Russian, or Ukranian descent and still living in Moldavia. Her last name is Smirnoff, a true Russian name, not a Ukranian name. So, whether she of Ukranian parents living in Ukraine or Russian parents living in Ukraine is irrelvant
'3rd world': never use this expression in this context in any part of latin world, it does not sound well. Probably it is the same if you want to make friends and if latin nacional dances are in fact your metier.
