Compare films with this subject matter back in the 80's: The Delta Force, Iron Eagle, and Death Before Dishonor; to films made today: Three Kings, The Kingdom and Green Zone. Things have gone from being sensationalistic to being more serious and more heavy handed. Before, real life events like TWA flight 847 where just fodder for schlockmeisters like Menahem Golan, now it's handled with more care.

I find it sad that Lee Marvin (who I otherwise like as an actor) was in this travesty of a film, a nasty little propaganda reel where American and Israeli forces save the world yet again from 'terrorists', in this case Lebanese muslims.

Note how almost every Arab in this film is portrayed as cowardly and sadistic - telling us not to care if Arabs die in their thousands. The Nazis used to make films like this about Jews, portraying them as an ugly, dirty people who stole money from everyone.

I did see it when I was a kid and did not really understand it , especially with the scum middle east terrorist aspects . The movie is awesome , and has great music and triumphant theme against the scum of terrorism . This is even more relavent for today . Also delta force is a great spec ops team . I have worked for delta force paintball , bit different lol
