@theatlatarise not a bad top ten i love Seven but i wouldn't put it in there. I'd go, in no particular order,: Warehouse, #41, The Stone, Recently, Lying in the Hands of God, Pig, What Would You Say, Tripping Billies, Jimi Thing, Crush
I urge everyone to fight against the fascism, the corruption and the lies that have taken over the United States and to stop the war criminals, to help the over 3 million people that are locked up in the US, the environment of the Earth was destroyed 30 years ago and the US still does the same. Wake up, you are not living in a free country. Drive through parts of AZ with Head stickers on your bus and you'll fear for your safety. That's the sad reality.
This is a crazy statement, but I'm going to make it: DMB, the greatest band since the Beatles. The songwriting, the lyrics, the musicianship, they don't sound like anyone before or since, had a huge impact on music...I don't think I'm crazy.
@GeorgeRBM1999 a bold statement yes. I would say the best live band in rememberable history. I cant argue your statement really, their fucking awesome.
@megaman8923 oooo, dave matthews is awesome, truly one of my favorite live bands. I have to say though, after seeing Muse perform live and watching all the youtube vids of their performances, I'd have to give em a slight edge. For only having three musicians in the group, they rock it out hard every time. Thumbs up to both groups though.
@GeorgeRBM1999 i would only agree with that statement. DMB, however not mainstream is extremely powerful. For those who would disagree, go to a concert. It changed my life
@GeorgeRBM1999 Maybe the best live performers since the Beatles, but in terms of musical style, I don't think they broke ground in the same way the Beatles did.
@itzauztin I guess if I had to pick a top 10, I'd go Warehouse, Seven, American Baby, Best of What's Around, Squirm, Crush, Jimi Thing, 41, Tripping Billies, and The Stone. But to pick a fav DMB song is impossible.
I really don't remember too much from from when I was younger due to getting blown up when I was a Joe in Iraq, but one memory I've been able to retain was riding the bus in eighth grade when my buddy Jay put some headphones on my head and said, "Dude, this is Dave Matthews Band. You've got to to hear this." the track read song 10 and it's been my favorite number ever since.
@danw03 Danw, you really get me, bro!!! Here in Mexico I'm the only guy around who likes this group and I'm proud to be a DMB great fan!!! Once you listen to these guys, there's nothing else, bro!!!! Enjoyhaving that band close cause it's certainly a privilege to be able to go to their concerts frequently and enjoy that amazing show!!!
@L00P7R00P my ears don't need to be checked, lol. My ears are fine. I have played Tenor Saxophone for 11 years, and i can promise you, that dude is below average talent-wise. However that has nothing to do with his networking skills. Tag along with a go-getter like Dave Matthews and aim at a college-age demographic and it is hard to fail. All I was saying is that as a Saxophonist myself, I was very unimpressed at his elementary antics.
@LeggoYourEchoes well, I believe that his talent has been approved a long time ago. He played the part that the band needed to achieve its sound and in my opinion, it's quite unique and above average level.
just when i think this concert can't get any better (yes, i am watching it for the first time, song by song), each new song i watch is like a glorious revelation......
@ac3jc they won't ever be the same, but they are still amazing, just in a slightly different way. the guy they got to replace him is fucking outstanding, so...the king is dead, long live the king!
@lodoma It started during the tour after Everyday came out. I had seen them several times prior to that and never heard it in a variety of venues. All of a sudden after Everyday people started doing it. It drives me a bit nuts to be honest...
DMB are for me the way the Beatles are for some people. Each note and lyric has a poetry all its own. The world would be a darker place without you. Give em some love!
Anyone else get a real sense of African music in this song? I love how the song climaxes at 8:20 then Dave sings a beautiful vocal melody while the rest of the band are going nuts. Would give anything to have been at this concert..
I was very fortunate to have been 15 feet from the stage at this show. It was and will probably be the best concert I will ever attend. I have attempted to see DMB at least once a year ever since 97, and in some instances multiple times in a given year. Only once have they ever failed to deliver an amazing performance. In a day and age where fans have a hard time connecting with musicians because of their aloofness, DMB stands above them all. The give their all and for that I am forever grateful
Does anyone know what the croud is screaming at the beginning lol? I'm going to see them in 9 days for the second time and if they play this, i wanna be prepared!
