Val and Abby were at Karen's house because Michael and Paige, who were kidnapped in Mexico, came home. Abby was trying to be nice and help Val. Also, Abby's daughter Olivia had recently tried to commit suicide.

JAldridge86, I completely agree with your narration above. This is one of my favourite scenes from the entire 14 seasons also. The Val/Abby relationship has to rank as one of the most compelling throughout the series' run. Two great characters played by two great actresses!
That's why I liked Abby's character. She could be the worst villain but you could see she still had somewhat of a heart........

It was Steve Shaw (Eric Fairgate) who committed suicide in 1990. Very sad.

I love this! It's a bit surreal, hearing Pat Peterson say how great it is to be alive, when he commited suicide awhile back. Such a waste of talent
