  • You can wake up to Steve Perry....Alarm Clock...lol I do agree...AWESOME singer!!!

  • @1:22 sexiest voice ever! mmmmmmmmmmmm....would love to wake up to steve perry!

  • The audio is EXCELLENT.

  • AMOR PARA SIEMPRE..... MJ

  • Yeah, they should've kept Steve Perry as the lead singer. Steve's voice, soul and spirit are on all of these songs. You can't just throw a nice singer on them, and think you will get the same results. Steve has a gift from God to pour himself out on a song, and the people can feel it.I'm just disappointed that Steve chose to stay in seclusion, and not give us anymore solo albums.

  • Alot of highway rolled under me while on the road with the 'Journey'

tours in the 80's..... Season's of memories that would take a lifetime

    of words to express.

Out of only 4 ladies I have ever loved in my life

(and I'm now 63) the one I loved the most, called it quits (over phone)

while we we out on the road.. I don't remember the city or date...

but I remember looking up at Steve from the floor of an out door venue

the 1st time he sang this and thought.."I'm gonna make it!!!"

    Peace out !

  • God! I havent thought of Alex in years, and when this song is playing...just like yesterday those memories come flooding back. :(

  • I've had this song stuck in my head a few days now, felt I should listen to it :P

  • thank you journey for helping dance with a great girl

  • @ 1:23 sexxiest voice ever!

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....makes me wanna wake up next to him!

  • wow, all the best songs are staring me in the face on the right side of the screen

  • Is no one like not seeing the Simply Red side to this?

  • I so miss the 1980's! WOW! Reagan, mullets, the protection of being a child, no worries, lots of fun, everything I wanted, my parents total love (which, thank God I still have :-), and so many wonderful teenage memories.

  • Smooooooth break up song.

  • such a sad song put to such a smooth jazzy groove, but cool

  • Im not too sure the guys should have tried to go on with a diff singer after Steve Perry left the band. It just kinda cheapens the whole thing They turned "Journey" into a karaoke band..

  • @TheMotorman96 AMEN TO THAT.

  • @TheMotorman96 yup!

  • @TheMotorman96 almost like a journey tribute band now without steve

  • @TheMotorman96 I'm a huge Journey fan and as far i'm concerned there is no Journey without Steve Perry. The man has a voice that is the only one of its kind on the face of the earth. Journey without Steve Perry is like driving a Ferrari with pedals insted of an engine.....

  • @TheMotorman96 I can not agree with you more! No one can ever replace Steve ever!

  • @TheMotorman96 you do gotta admit, the new singer is kinda close

  • @Dwarfvader9000 naw steve augeri was pertty damn close

  • @sc30002001 he did have more originallity<.< bad spelling xD but i think pinata or whatever sounds more like perry. (personal opinion)

  • @Dwarfvader9000 Steve Augeri did a wonderful job with the journey songs and my all time fave is higher place Augeri lost his voice in 2006

  • @TheMotorman96 at least write new material for the new singer instead of rerecording the classics

  • @TheMotorman96 I agree. What makes it so bad is they tried to replace him with singers who sound just like him.

  • lovde the twin guitar work at the fade out...way cool.

  • awesome song

  • 5 people will be alright without me!

  • Chorus makes the song

  • If when listening to Journey, those of you thinking & commenting on Justin Bieber, it means you love him & his music but are trying to deny it. Face the truth. It's ok, I'm not anti-JB, just a realist... For the rest of us, we're on here listening to music from the heavens.

  • i said it 20 years ago i'll say it now .Steve Perry has the best voice i have heard in rock and roll ever.

  • I HAVENT BEEN, KITTY....DAMN..ONE NIGHT..WHAT THE HELL CAN I SAY....GOOD LUCK HONEY AND WISH ME THE SAME..BUT THEN IF IT WOULD HAVE WORKED OUT, DAMN...WE'D BE MORE THAN HALF WAY DOWN THE AISLE AND GETTING READY FOR A WEDDING IN CONIDRE HALL IN HUNTINGTON IN THE FALL...BUT THAT WASNT WAHT HAPPENED AND A YR LATER..CANT GET OVER U..MUST BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME...good luck ..and wish me the same honey..x0..i'll never forget u..NEVER..

  • @rexrockandroll wow, dude...that's heavy...hang in there, bro...touching indeed.

  • @rowdymax1 THANX...IM NOT GOOD WITH EXTREME HEARTBREAK AND THIS DID IT MORE THAN EVEN AFTER 19 YRS OF MARRIAGE..THAT WAS NOTHING COMPARED TO NOT GETTING MY CHANCE TO WIN OVER KITTY...I HOPE I DONT LET IT KILL ME FOR LIFE, THATS MY CHALLENGE...THANX FOR THE KIND WORDS...pete

  • This song features none other than a (much heavier then) Randy Jackson in a brilliant performance on electric bass and some darn soulful background vocals, to boot. During the guitar solo, listen to that bass interplay. Magic!

  • great tune but is very remenecent of whitesnake.

  • @metachozoite wrong. other way around. whitesnake ripped off this bands sound, not vice versa.

  • que buena esta cancion es una de mis favoritas la letra dema buena.

  • I love this. It came up as a suggestion... wow, Go Steve!

  • What a great song! Really hits it at 3:00. Great acoustics!

  • One of my favorite songs & one of my favorite bands! Steve Perry you are missed!!!

  • 6 months. I'll check back in another 6.

  • Everytime i hear a Journey Song, i feel i'm driving past a Kansas Cornfield on a late summer day

  • I HOPE I'LL BE OK..DAMN..DAMN..DAMN KITTY...GOOD LUCK AND WISH ME THE SAME..X0...p

  • Journey is my life

  • @extremebomber K kool?

  • Steve Perry had an amazing voice. One of the greatest singer of all time

  • Normally when you see 80's videos - you get all sorts of fun links on the side. Journey was SO prolific that all you get here is more journey! I've found the end of you tube! Nowhere to go from here - and I'm loving it!

  • This is the song get pass an ex and never let me think about the past.

  • Damn, these peeps know the right words to the right situations. Classic.

  • the best vocal ever

  • when i die i hope i hear journey songs there, and to see steve perry there too would be an added bonus,i'd be thanking jesus!

  • the voice.hes the best ever.

  • This is the breakup antheum !!

  • @Tinaerwinboy If you are fire-breathing ticked at your ex for their lying from the very start of the relationship.

  • I love you Steve!I won't be alright without you baby! Please come back and sing for us!Love you and your voice! I hope you are still doing well! God bless you!

  • The guitar at the end is just perfection.

  • 5 dislikes!?

whoever you 5 people are you don't like the classics you have no taste and dont like rock and roll

  • Why does every Journey song remind me of every phase in my relationships? jeez xP. Still love em tho! <3

  • 5 people won't be alright without you.

  • @YourTheBlame2 He's talkin' to me.. Duh

  • sarah i love u i hope i dont have to live with out u becouse i wont be alright with out u plz dont go

  • @ssddffgghhjjkkll

let me guess it dident work and she left you for another guy right? the fastest way to loose a girl is by being a needy wuss. look up david deangelo and find out why.

  • Music from the 50s 60s and 70s rocked totally The 80's went down hill big time leading to the last 21 years of trash!. Journey though made the 80's a much better place to listen to music Please Steve get back, Randy and all, before it is to late You still got it, let us all see and hear. Maybe even make some new gems, and dare I say it bury rap and hip hop???

  • Journey was "Real" San Francisco...soul, style and spontaneity. They were a band and Steve Perry was the perfect front man. This track will never b duplicated until Perry, Neil Schon, Greg Rolle and Randy Jackson (yes, that Randy Jackson!) get back together and do it again. EVERYTHING else is only a cover.

  • I ended it, but I was the only one who really cared, and ultimately, the only one who hurt in the end. This song's been helping me truck on since then.

  • This is a great song.. very encouraging during a hard time or break up but it encourages one to keep going...I love it

  • I saw the new incarnation of Journey the other night at jones beach 8-17-11 and I think it sucked.

They should play nice and get Steve Perry back since that is the sound they r still looking for.

    what a joke

  • Personally, and this is just me, but i like the guitar solo at the end. It is rather bluesy and also, very soulful. I like it very much so and if anybody says different, they can stand out in the middle of on-coming traffic with a blindfold on. u___u

  • @SirJohn1991 THANK YOU, ME TOO! It is badass & and I'll bring the blindfolds! LOL

  • Anybody else think that Neal Schon should put down his foolish pride, and ask Steve Perry to come back to Journey? I do! They hit #14 in Billboard, 2-28-87. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

  • @DaveWollenberg Neal Schon's completely fine with Steve joining 'em back again, as is Arnel. They've said so multiple times, including very recently, in fact. The ball's been in Steve's court for years now.

  • @evh5150hawaii I hope Steve DOES come back, and, maybe, coexist with Arnel Pineda. That'd be great to see!

  • There will never be another Steve Perry, Journey will never be the same with out him .

  • My dad loves them and he doesn't like anyone. Haha.

  • <3 3:08 - 4:36

  • lmy friend leonh153 HATES journey and he keeps calling them THE journey

  • This is what I call real music not that faggy fuck Justin Bieber pop shit.

  • @msinclair1991 I agree 100% Justin Bieber sucks !!!!

  • @francinehamilton2009 who's Justin Bieber?-ha ha-no but seriously, he sounds/looks like an asshole!!-i bet if i were in Journey i could pull way more bitches!!-great song-Steve's solo work is golden too

  • @msinclair1991 whining about justin bieber on youtube? wow noones ever thought of that before, you are clearly blowing peoples minds on here with your originality.

  • @SummernlightningUSA Thank you.

  • @msinclair1991 justin is not a fag , more like a teenage asslickin cock dweller

  • 162,162 views. dont see that everyday

  • Journey isn't Journey without Steve Perry.

  • @dw45761 ya thats like having another mj...it aint gonna fly

  • The older you get. The more LIfe passes you by, the more beautiful and wonderful this song becomes....

  • For all the women who broke your heart!

  • you know....there was this girl i fell in love with, she always toyed with my emotians, when i tried to commit suicide,i net someone knew,my true love, but this ecxact day i am posting this, the original girl killed herself because of me...

  • THATS A KICK ASS SONG!!!!!

  • love journey, love this song!

  • Soooo, I was dumped again. After 2 years She wont give me the 3200 dollar ring back, but somehow, listening to THIS song, is making everything ok!!! Thanks Journey!

  • Is This Version A Remix Of The Original From Raised On Radio?? The Drums Are Have More Of A Thunder Kick ToThem. The Intro Is Cut In Half Unlike To The "ROR" Version In 1986 and The "GH" Version Playing Here Runs 16 Mins Shorter Than The Album Version. Could This Version Be A Radio Edit/AOR Edit Or Something Else??

  • O OH MY GOD...i am listening to this song after 20 years and i can think of exactly how i was feeling...where i was. fucking you tube rocks. fucking journey man...thank you for making me who i am...cheers to where u r.

  • Who the heck WOULD break up with Steve Perry..? I mean I would think if you were a girl and had Steve Perry for Pete's sake... haha

  • i read that all the songs from the raised on radio album were all about steve perrys girlfriend when they broke up

  • never listen to this after a unnecisary breakup :{

  • This song is not just depressing, it is bitter sweet, nostalgic, evocative, just incredibly complex. Man, this song is unbelievable. I heard this playing slots in an indian casino. They play a lot of good songs from the 80's.

  • 4 dislikes? "Sucka mah junk beyotchezz" JOURNEY ROCKS!

  • O.o how in the fuck do you dislike journey

  • @yourdrunkendad41 prolly justine bieber fanz got lost and ended up here.... 4 dislikes? are you kidding me? JOURNEY ROCKS! and they were totally amazed at what real music sounded like so much that they just couldn't help hitting the dislike button....got scared and ran off. 4 losers!

  • Sweet.... Steve Perry....OMG!

  • Journey will always be remembered it's greatest days with Steve Perry no doubt about it. But Arenel has an amazing voice too, he will never write songs like Steve but he can match Steve note for note in a sing off..

  • journey was better when steve perry was with them now they have arenel

  • @Legonoob3214 Well i'll mix this beat with the RZA and create one of the best rap songs of all time so take that to the bank

  • I miss those days when this played on the radio.I am 33.I remember the early 80"s.LIDS CID and Steve Perry.MISS THOSE DAYS!!!

  • the anthem for every independent man trying to make it in this wicked world who just broke up with their girlfriend.

  • such a great song

  • great song

  • damn I love the solo at the end.. cool stuff

  • @chicago6584 me too, best solo of all Journey's songs

  • @mercuryforeva I woke up hearing Foolish Heart in my mind - - another aching-ly beautiful song. You know I didn't know Randy was a bass player. That is awesome! Makes sense. He doesn't just talk about it, he lived it! Don't mean to name drop but since you brought him up I met Randy before. Super cool dude in person.

  • I don't know why but from 4:00 on that sound gets me every time. There's something about it I love.

  • @Infiniteraps I know what you mean, something about this whole song for me haha and girl can't help it; I love the live versions with Randy Jackson on bass also lol :) Steve's voice is just bliss.

  • @Infiniteraps Me too man :D I love this song but I always wait so eagerly for that part. I dont know whats in that guitar tune that just gets to my heart. There is simply no more music like this now a days :(

  • @Infiniteraps that's my fave part of the song too :0)

  • i wonder how many people listened to this before blowing their heads off

  • @UDflyer04 That's a sad thought but then.... Dolly Parton & Wintney won an award from the Royal Society of Crematory Mortians - a music award - because a lot of the dear departed in the UK had their song "I'll Always Love You" play as they were ceramoniously sent into the fire. I can only wonder what Dolly thought of that.

  • I absolutely LOVE the part from 3:05 to the end. That's my favorite part.

  • to all my ex's.....

  • The 80`s were in some ways better than today, It seemed since technology was getting better everywhere, people had different looks with hair and clothes. Music was so important and still seemed so new. We would wait for so long to see our favorite acts on MTV. It was such a great time to be alive. Now days we don`t like the crap they have now called music, it don`t have character or emotion, it`s dead and stale. Some of the 80`s may have been corny, but it still had life and meaning.

  • Are there really 3 morons who "dislike" this ????

  • @RayL1983 you must be a GaGa fan- vomitville

  • Comment removed

  • @RayL1983 YO MAMMY

  • it reminds me of some other old song that I used to listen to when I was a kid, same rhythm, can't remember who and what song!

  • Does anyone knows why Steve left the band? Wasn't his choice and I know why.

  • @martychat He had hip replacement surgery and the band wanted to tour with or without him.

  • was never a big Journey fan but heard this song on the radio a month or so ago and changed my mind. This song grows on you a bit and it reminds me of the 80's with bands like Journey and others and the times when MTV actually played music videos

  • glee needs to stay as far away from musicians with actual talent (ie: journey) as possible. any one who supports the mockery of music that is glee should be shot

  • Steve Perry to the rest of Journey: "I'll be alright without you!"

  • @Activeassholeonpills hahahahhaa. Nice.

  • fuck glee

  • i swear i listen to this song at least 50 times a day and i just bury my face in my hands and drift away. you know...theres nothing quite like a good cry

  • journey is nothing without steve perry.....he is journey, i cannot believe they can still make music under that name without him. this is a awesome song, brings back memories of my childhood that were actually good.

  • 3 people won't be alright.

  • Steve Perry has the greatest rock voice of all time. When he left Journey, the show was over.

  • @navyseals47 Folks might not like that, but it's the way it is.

    True word bro..

  • @navyseals47

I always said, if I could have anyone's voice to sing, it would be Steve Perry's. His voice is amazing.

  • @navyseals47 I have to agree....Steve Perry IS Journey!!

  • This has got to be the most depressing song ever. Yet, I can't stop playing it.

  • @spoonman73 I always thought it was a positive encouraging song whenever I lost someone from my life.

  • @spoonman73 Yupperz, In deed

  • @spoonman73 no shit

  • @spoonman73 Not so depressing as some songs I listen to that were sung by Steve...but an awesome song nonetheless

  • @spoonman73 Most good songs are depressing, I find- since most good songs are rock ballads.

"Wish you were here", "Stairway to heaven", "November Rain", "Every rose has its thorns", "Faithfully", etc.

  • @spoonman73 oh i now man, makes me wanna cry and not a big one on crying

  • 3 people couldnt mend their broken hearts =/

  • IN THE EARLY '90 I HEARD THIS SONG AND DON'T STOP BELIEVIN' ON THE RADIO , AND SAID " I LIKE IT ! " AND " THE CHORUS IS AWESOME ! " . BUT JUST A FEW MONTHS AGO , IN SEPTEMBER 2009 I TURNED INTO A JOURNEY FAN AND DISCOVERED MORE GREAT SONGS AND PURCHASED ALL DVDS .

  • steve what a voice

  • Steve Perry and Journey rock...His voice is one that defines my generation...love this song.

  • It is not a racist opinion to say that Rap is cRap. It is just god awful, not talent and nasty. Whoever listens to that crap is just conditioning their ear to garbage. I like a lot of black performers, Motown, etc. Love Nat King Cole. Great voice control, timbre, both power and softness, clarity, timing...etc. I just cringe when I hear nasty rap being blared in a car near mine. What ever happened to appreciation of talent and artistry? The devolution of culture shows in art, first.

  • @myopicseer Ehhh i dunno I listen to rap just as much as I listen to rock like this but ya gotta understand that rappers are artist as well and what the do does take alot of talent and they are smarter than you actually think. Dont get me wrong some of the shit they rap about makes absolutely no sense but just take Eminem or Tupac for example. Imagine tryin to freestyle something like they do/did and making sense lol. harder than ya think dude. Not disrespectingyou though.

  • @myopicseer I totally agree with you on the Motown though. Good music. I like alot of R&B singers like NeYo who is an absolutely amazing artist and writes songs for alot of other stars.

  • @myopicseer I LOVE JOURNEY!

The Eagles, Steve Miller band, Chicago, The Allman brothers etc

But their are a LOT of talented artist in the rap genre. MAYBE not on the radio, but check out some guys like SHAD K who have real lyrics unlike the commercial trash. I LOVE all the oldies that my parents have been putting in my ears since 90, but dont disregard talent just because the likes of lil wayne or other arrogant artist is on the radio,

  • three guys that hates this song only likes to rap. rap is crap.

  • Well, they can imitate him all they want but no one can reach his epic voice! Voice of THE AGES.

  • Just one, only one Steve perry with his natural voice nobody can imitate him. Thanks for this wonderful memories from the 80.

  • Thanks for the memories!

  • Yeah, well, I'm gonna have to go with a former post..I used to listen to this also...now, I think they're just too much. Had the album...did all of it. Makes me puke now. Waaaay more better stuff to listen to. !
