After watching this video, I agree with Obama. Guantanamo should be closed. The facility needs to be upgraded, and it would cost millions. Even though Obama has a $3 trillion+ budget, I don't think any money should go to Guantanamo improvements.

(Continued Message) The next prison is new and is only about 3 years old. It is much like the prisons in the USA. The prisons are located on a Hill-ish ground area. As far as i know the area is blocked of from civilians,(Yes American Civilians do live in GTMO) and the road leads to a beach called Windmill Beach. There are towers located all around the camp with spot light mounts on each tower. GTMo is a wonderful place to live, and i miss it very much. I would go back in a heart beat.

I lived if GTMO for 6 years. I would like to point out a few things to clear up anyones questions. The first camp you see is very old and was built before i was born and was only used on Cuban prisoners. It is not used to this day and anyone that lives there could just walk right up into it and look around. The secound camp is also old and is still used to this day but it is only used to hold prisoners for a few hours....

we all know the purpose of guantanamo, surely there is a large group of men who are hold up in guantanamo that are truly guilty of war crimes. obviously not everyone in guantanamo is guilty, but we've released plenty of men from cuba and sent them back to their homelands, only to be captured once more for terrorist activity. closing gitmo won't do any good. the function of guantanamo will be served somewhere if not cuba. guantanamo isn't unreasonable. it's a prison, not the Gulag.
