i am crying my ASS OFF whene i was varry little i never quiet watching his movies and i still do and whene i watched this o god i cried so fucking bad
@waluigithecool I like 'Family Guy'. Stewie's my favorite. When an episode of FG had Peter resurrecting Jim Varney, I didn't know if it was 2 honor the man or make fun of him. I hope it was 2 honor his memory. Nobody messes with Jim. You're right. Nobody beats Jim Varney. He was & is the best. His DVD's are still funny to this day. I've been watching him for 27 years, though for the past 11 years since his passing, I watch his old commercials and movies. It's too bad that there will be no more.
@waluigithecool I'm with you. I love the Varney humor. He was never boring. I laugh no matter how many times I've watched him. Humor today isn't humor. It's filth. How many times do I need 2 hear about something going on in the bedroom? How many times can a person say the 's' word before it's not funny? It seems that swearing is in every sentence. Now that's boring. When you can make someone laugh without vulgarity and swearing, then you know you're a genius. I'm talking 2 U, Jim Varney.
I was doing good until I saw the grave and the tears starting pouring again. I truly miss that man. He kept his shows clean. Something you don't see anymore. Jim Varney WAS a hero. He was a legend that will never be forgotten. We miss you down here, Jim. R.I.P.
I was in a psa with Jim in 1996. I was only with him one day. He was great guy, & treated me as if I was somebody. Great video you put together. Hard to believe he's been gone 10 years. He was my hero.
Wonderful tribute! I love Jim Varney with all my heart even more than life itself! He was my hero! I loved his performance as Ernest, Jed Clampett, and Slinky Dog. He always bought a smile to my face. He still does to this day but then there are times when I'm sad because I wish he was still here with us! He'd still be here if he hadn't put the cigerette in his mouth! DON'T SMOKE! R.I.P. Jim Varney 1949-2000. MY HERO!
I love dynamic actors like Jim Varney. I always enjoyed his characters when I was a kid. This was a great video, but it really made me sad. It's a shame he met his demise at such an early age. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for posting. Jim was great. He really was. It's nice to see people who really appreciated him and the kind of work he did. The commercials were always funny but the movies brought a warmer side to Ernest that seems to have resonated with so many that grew up with those movies. Feel free to click on my name to see my page and some interesting Jim Varney videos.
I was glad someone did something like this for Jim Varney, it is a lot better than mine. He is still one of my favorite actors. Rest in peace Jim Varney.
I'm not ashamed to say that this tribute did bring a tear to my eye. Its a great tribute for a great man who will be remebered by many & forgotten by non. KnowwhutImean?
Love the video. I remember his start. Late 70's very early 80's----Oklahoma/Texas area--Ice Cream commercials--He would always pop up unexpectedly at the neighbors and offer the new "deelecious" ice cream.....miss him...
Kind of ironic how one of his little public service announcements was focusing on getting "Vern" to quit smoking...and Jim Varney died of the very same thing...sad still though

It's unfortunate that Varney is no longer with us. Perhaps it is just as unfortunate that Varney remains a completely unheralded comedic mind.
He brought so much fun and humanity to his characters.
