Just NO. They took Phoenix as far as they can. After the final case of Trials And Tribulations that was so epic and brought the entire story full circle, there is NO-TH-ING left to do for him that could go beyond that.

They changed it from Phoenix for a very good reason. Why can't more people see that?

Totally agree. I'm glad they're passing the torch to a new protagonist, that lets us see Phoenix's life in the future, without the narrative burden of him having to be an attorney. The series was never ABOUT Phoenix in the first place--the final case made it perfectly clear, that it's about the destinies of many individuals intertwining in the court room. Keeping Phoenix as the protagonist for too long would ruin the series.

When it turned out to be true, Phoenix lost the case and his badge. Zakku disappeared, and was never sentenced. i liked phoenix's objection better than odoroki's. At least the music has the same kinda feel. AND i'm all wondering what the whole stuff behind paradise shifts are gonna be like... ngeh the chara designs are still nice, though i'm not used to seeing red behind the defense's stand. also i'm not really liking his childish reactions. phoenix's reactions were more likeable IMO.
