Wonderful. I loved it! Thanks for making this film. I just found out there will be no Phila. Film Fest this year, so I am so glad to be able to share in the Sundance Fest. this way.
Homwrecker caught on film a relationship of lovable Mike and flaky Margo. Everyone in life should have a friend like Mike who is understanding, trying to do the right thing, and cares. And how could we resist Margo, who brings a surprise to ones day with her harebrained zest for life. The film shots were crisp and colorful as we watched Mike and Margo go chasing around the city. So YES, Homewrecker, was a day in the park to play and have fun.
Since I've "cut the cord" to my satellite provider, I'm delighted to be able to view Sundance content online. $3.99 occasionally is a bargain compared to the $90/mo I was paying for hundreds of useless channels and an occasional gem.
Strangely, it paused for buffering twice during the opening scene, and that repeats at the same spots when I try again. Looks like they run your connection to its max, then pause for a few seconds of buffering, and after that it is perfect with a much lower average rate for the rest of the film. One other technical comment, the audio level of some of the musical interludes is way above the dialog level, yet the whole movie audio is way below most of the user content of YouTube.
I think the Variety review is way harsh - they must have been expecting a giddy screwball comedy. This isn't. There are times when there isn't much action, but there is always a wealth of personal expression to absorb, plus beautifully photographed locations to explore. I watched the 720P version and it was as sharp as the active pixels in the letterbox would allow. Oh, and there are just the right number of "F-bombs", at least judging by where I live.
No, that's not Keith from Six Feet Under, but the feeling is similar. Richly developed characters who happen to be several standard deviations away from the mean, but are so lovable you can't stop watching.
c'est magnifique! ce que j'aime le plus c'est les metteurs en scene et les scenaristes. Les acteurs sont superbes, surtout le personnage de Margo. Bravo!
You should enable comments and voting to only those who have actually watched the movie. Too many haterz giving 1 star votes on principle. Congrats on getting accepted into Sundance. That's an accomplishment 99% of the jerks on this board will never achieve.
Thanks reelblack. I've been struggling with the decision. I've only been blocking insane/racist/trolly comments. I don't feel like I should totally block arguments against the general idea, but it's a little gut wrenching. They said we could block ratings, and the 1 stars all seem to be against the idea of paying, but I'd rather let people who like the movie fight the good fight for us. Thanks for your kind words.
If we wanted to rent a movie, we would have went with Netflix or even Redbox, which is a lot cheaper from what they are asking, and you can keep movies for as long as you want with never a late fee (Netflix).4 dollars for only 2 days. i am sorry but this "youtube beta rental thing" is B.S
We really did make this movie for people to enjoy. YouTube just gave us a chance to show it to people who couldn't make it to Utah and try to pay back our friends who helped us make it.
You don't have to watch it. You do realize that if Google can't profit from this site, they will use the servers for something more profitable? That means, You Tube will be sold off to less capable hands or die off completely. The internet advertisement business model is barely sufficient to offset operational costs. As long as they aren't charging for the YT service itself, or handicapping the YT experience, they can do what they need as far as I'm concerned.
If you think it is crap, why would you spend time to watch it to begin with? The Sundance Film Festival, many people think, brings out some of the best movies year over year. For those people, youtube offers immediate access to these videos without driving to the video store.
@philiparnason Ignore rikajin. He's just one of thousands of bored jerks who have nothing better to do than troll around leaving negative comments everywhere. I doubt he means half of the things he says. Rikajin is just trying to get a reaction out of someone. If we ignore those people they get bored and go away. Also, I agree with your comment on Sundance :)

So much to love in this movie. Well worth four bucks and an an hour + half.
It's great. I love it. I love beets.

Unfortunately for Steve Rannazzisi, he does not, in fact, love beets. He had to eat about 6 plates worth.

If you don't want to pay, don't watch it. Is it really that complicated? Looks pretty good to me, might give it a rent tomorrow when I get drunk.

Why on earth would I pay $3.99 stream ONE movie? Instead, I can pay netflix $10 and watch as many as I want. who came up with this idea?

Watching feature length films on Youtube reminds me of what David Lynch said about watching films on your iphone.

I don't think rikakin watched the film.
Just complaining about having to pay for it (though I imagine at some point they have paid for a movie at a theater and rented or bought a DVD).
