The first one is Aggie Whyte's, the second one is Miss Thornton. Joe Burke recorded the first two tunes together. The third one is a version of Rip the Calico.
To the Madden Family - I'm very sorry for your troubles, Joe was a hell of a nice guy. I had the pleasure of his company on a few occassions - many memorable weekends at the Conventions and up in the Catskills. Go ndeana Dia Trocaire ar a Anam.
yes he was. he was my biggest influence on the box. my grampa was great friends with him through the doonbeg social club. he is greatly missed by all.
My dad, Tommy Brady, was Joe's drummer for years. I can remember how much fun it was to watch them when I was a kid. What music that band could make! Our thoughts and prayers go out to Helen and the entire Madden Family. Joe was certainly one of a kind, and will be deeply missed.
a bunch of us from maryland had some tunes with joe in april. he was a great musician and, more importantly, a good friend. it took his wife hours to pull him away from the session that night. RIP
You three are nearly all of what's left of the old guard from back in the old days. Joe, you haven't changed a bit since we met back in 1973 at the Trocadero Ballroom in the Bronx at a Clare wedding (I'd just switched over to the B/C). Retirement suits you as it seems to with Felix (more time for music). I enjoyed the clip very much. Keep it going and God bless. Johnny Howard - New Haven
Ab Fab, its great to be able to sit with one of your parents & play a tune, your both great, would love to hear heself play whistle or wooden flute, more than a concert flute, got great ornamentation with trad tunes,
How refreshing! I'm so tired of seeing so many videos promoting nothing but doom and gloom! I get tired of sitting at my computer...so this made me feel wonderfully alive! I got up and did a little jig...that's what I did!
In 1997 a girl called lauren was walikng in a forest and then a she just dissapeared no one ever found her untill 2000 when a yoing girl called Mary found her body and markings on her chest saying: I wasnt pretty enough" and now you have read this she will appear in your mirror
