I can promise you this: i've worked that plane before. If you look at the very start of the video, you'll see a texas flag on the 130 parked on the ramp. That plane belongs to Dyess (317th ag of AMC). I'm assigned to that unit right now. Been to kuwait 2 times (was where the video started). crazy shit right there.
@grinch8302 Lmao! I know right? I also like how depending on the pilots they don't always tell you there about to do one.....They just do it and talk about something catching you off guard.....
Forgot the landing at Clark AFB, Phillipines. Stayed at Clark for M-16 & survival training....first time I had ever fired a M-16. Left there on a different C-130 with working heaters....made the rest of the trip almost bearable. Can't remember total air time from Travis to Vietnam but it was a whole lot better than the WWII troop ships that my uncles went to war in.
The more things change, the more they stay the same! I flew out of Travis AFB, July 1965 in a "Hercky Bird" bound for Vietnam. We made a few fuel stops along the way....Hickham Field, Hawaii and Guam. What a flight! Noisy, cold, (heaters not putting out much warm air) and the "comfortable" orange web seats. m This really brings back memories!
the first time i was on a 130 doing a combat landing was at Baghdad aka biap in 04 damm time flies
