  • One of the most thought provoking songs ever written. Rise Against all that oppress's the masses.

  • It's not the end that i fear with each breath. its life that scares me to death.

  • I always liked this song, but for some reason it wasn't until recently I realized how well it describes my thoughts of suicide through the time ... How horrible life sometimes is, but as long as I don't do anything about it, I live on, and in the end I might actually end up not regretting not doing it, finding someone to spend my life with, or a purpose of some kind ... As long as I don't kill myself, as long as I just kill the time, I'm still alive. That somehow gives me hope.

  • I thought it was funny how at "Do we dare take what they offer?" It had a picture of lemon juice. Amazing song also :D!

  • @tomzjamz Haha! I thought that was poison! It's lemon juice! xD

    I LOVE lemon juice! :D

  • The big reason why nobody listens this awesome song is the fucking difficult name. Or that's my opinion.

  • This video is a favorite on Manama

  • OH MY FUUUUUUCKING GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 3:12?

this is my favorite song eva!

  • this song is very nice! but the three days grace as very very nice

  • This song is the only thing that gives me the strength to think clearly in this "fucked up" World

  • how this has twenty-seven dislikes blows my mind...

  • @wackdoodle115 Either they didn't read the lyrics, or their wonderful lives have never brought them in a situation that makes them understand them, or they simple lack brains. Those must be the only reasons to dislike this song. ^^

  • "Lets take this one day at a time, I'll hold your hand if you hold mine..."

    Words to live by...

  • I'm in LOVE with this video and the song!

  • Every single word in this song is oh so f**king true. I always almost start crying when I listen to this awesome song!

  • i think rise against has THE MOST meaningful songs ive ever heard. like if you agree

  • It's not the end that I fear with each breath It's life that scares me to death.<3

  • @livelaughlove157ily i love that bit

  • Rocking out to this song at their concert was fucking awesome.

  • yep rejected cartoons by Don Hertzfeld :P xD

  • I've been searching this song on youtube for 2 hours.

  • @blastedpotato When I'm searching for a song I don't know the name of, I find it's helpful to google what lyrics I do know in quotes, and chances are I get a page with the name of the song on it. It's a huge time saver.

  • just bought the album, wondering if it was on youtube aswell, cant stop listening to this one.. :x..

  • well justin bieber, since you can't make real music, i want you to sit back, listen to this, and learn what music is really about

  • I like how in this video the locked fence photo pops up like 4 times

  • Oh, my, God. I am a huge Rise Against fan, been listening to mainly them for almost two years now, and I JUST now find out about this song. This song is majorly unknown and underated... God this song is so good. I don't have the words to describe it, instantly one of my favorites.

  • @shadowslayer51 Unknown by you perhaps ;P Wake up and listen to the music!!! ;)

  • @shadowslayer51

It's called NON- Appeal to Reason Rise Against. Appeal was terrible.

  • @AlmostaFlipinSkater Personally I loved that album. :P

  • @AlmostaFlipinSkater I liked that album too...it doesnt matter if they aren't as hardcore as they use to be for me it matters about the meaning..

  • lolololololol 1:16 rejected cartoons funny shit.

  • This song is incredible... and incredibly underrated. Definitely one of the best. Top 5?

  • One of the best lyrics I've ever heard.

  • Sanity not Included FTW...

  • they really should have made a video for this , like if you agree ???

  • @Xxrickibee94xX Cause they will really do make that if some random guy gets thumbs up. No band cars about amount of views, likes, dislikes or thumbs up.

  • Don't dislike until you get to 2:26 or so...

  • @its419able From 2:26 to the end of the song is the most amazing and the most powerful thing ive ever heard.

  • Possibly the most underrated song Rise Against has written but in my opinion one of the very best.

  • @229Rey Nah most underated is Torches.

  • @229Rey Every song by Rise Against that has less than 1 mil views on youtube is underrated.

  • sanity not included =] awsome song

  • @jh565bb Wait what? This song was on SNI? When was this?

  • @chimerareviews the theme tune listen to the beginning and compare they are the same

  • im inlove with this band

  • what was the font you used in this video?

  • this is an amazing video to go with an even amazinger song good work :D

  • This song title is a line from Star Trek the next generation.

  • @TheJordanpe well, its kind of a mark twain quote "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated" im not sure if rise against took this quote and made it their own to portray to the song better, or if they misquoted it..... i highly doubt however that rise against misquoted this

  • @ThePhilliesphan26 Ah! That makes sense. I'm about to geek here for a sec. In the series, Captain Picard was a big Mark Twain fan. Very cool.

  • @TheJordanpe i dont think they are related

  • i want this played at my funeral

  • Seriously one of the best songs of all time, very emotional. This is coming from a guy who primarily likes metal. If you don't like this song you don't have a heart.

  • @sophier24 .....did you turn gay?

  • @00Powell Don't really see what my sexulaity has to do with my taste in music. I just decided I liked music that was a bit more cheerful. I'm probably "plugged into this grid" or something though. :p

  • @00Powell he prob. did

  • @00Powell What does one's sexuality have to do with their taste in music?

  • @MattTheManly it was a joke..... dont take it so literally

  • Fuck illuminati

  • this video should probably have over 1 million views. what a shame its been out for 4 years and only has 200k.

  • only one of the greatest most underrated videos on the internet of all time.

  • I love the font you used (and the song). What's the font called?

  • why can't i find this song live? have they never played it live before?

  • @GreatAether0 yeah they haven't... i really wish they did considering its my fave song of all time.

  • Hiding from the laughter,

in the closets of our life.

But the door hinges are squeaking,

Letting in thin shards of light

And now a hands extending outward,

    quiet comfort they invite.

Do we dare take what they offer,

Do we dare step into the light?

Damn powerful lyrics...holds a special meaning to me, because of a special person in my heart. =)

  • they should have made a music video for this song...it could have been an epic video haha. same with paper wings :D

  • 27 dislikes? Really? im not even going to dignify those with a catchy thing like "27 people like justin beiber" or "27 people didnt hold his hand", no, because those 27 people just disgust me

  • I really hope rise against doesn't ever become mainstream. Not because I don't want the band to be rich or anything. I guess I am just selfish and want to keep them all to myself. Underground mainstream is okay i guess though.

  • one of my favourite songs :P :P good work with timing the lyrics!!!

  • Hey man great great job on the vid man... the pictures go so well with the words... i get goosebumps when i listen to this song and especially when i watch this vid :D Long live rise against

  • @justice5150studios

Yeah, all hail Rise Against :)

  • My favorite Rise Against song. =]

  • " get a grip on yourself is what thy say every hour of everday. hands over our ears ive screamin all these years!"

    holy shit i get chills

  • Maybe i should die early so Rise Against can play at my funeral

  • good video man!

  • We came, in search of answers, we left, empty handed again, shots fired, into the sky, are now returning, where the fuck will you hide? <3

  • @Furyaan I want this song to be played at every epic moment of my life

  • Want to like and favourite this a million times.... it speaks to me so deeply. The lyrics to most Rise Against songs touch my heart so,

  • "When I die, will they remember not what I did, but what I haven't done? It's not the end that I fear with each breath; it's life that scares me to death."

These words are getting tattooed on my body.

  • 2:28 - 4:00.... that is what music is all about right there. Not how it sounds, but the meaning. I literally get goosebumps when I hear that part... This is by far the best song ever made. By the best band in history.

  • @Furyaan

Meh, this would be in the top 10, but John Lennon's "Imagine" would be number 1

  • I was feeling a bit sad and sentimental, so I went to play "Swing Life Away", but then something made me listen to this instead. I never really liked this song before, but I realised how amazing this song is. There's at least two songs from each RA album that I don't like at first, but end up loving after a while. Probably the longest would be "Voices Off Camera". Took me an entire year to suddenly realise how awesome it is.

Holy shit, this band is amazing.

  • Dear NFS Underground 2

You made me discover Rise Against for the first time, the song being "Give it all", I was hyped but after a while, I didn't make the time to find the song on youtube. Dear Russel Howard's Good news, you also played the exact same song, and I hunted the exact episode down just to find it. Now, I have 2 of their albums. I regret nothing. (other than the fact that I didn't search them after NFS, but I have them nonetheless)

  • @Evallandercomingsoon Which two albums? I'll recommend one to get next - I thought I had their best material when I had two albums from them, but they have very consistent output in terms of quality.

  • @NightXemnas

The sufferer and the Witness and Siren Song of the Counter Culture

  • @Evallandercomingsoon Get Revolutions Per Minute, undoubtedly my favourite album by them, and their best in terms of songwriting variety. Afterwards, get either The Unraveling OR Endgame. If you like the sound of RPM, get the Unraveling. If you Prefer the sound of sufferer and SSOTCC, get Endgame, which is not as hardcore but still very melodic. Save Appeal to Reason for last. Some very good songs, but its mostly mellow, and a bit generic considering this is the band that wrote RPM.

  • Rise Against's best song

  • What people doesn't know, is that this is a bad ass song.

  • I can't even begin to say how amazing this song is... this song and whereabouts unknown have got me through a lot of shit.... rise against is the most amazing band to ever live.

  • This is, in my opinion, the best song (or tied with Paper Wings) on Siren Song.

  • @jack21222 anywhere but here is awesome as well (those 3 are tied for my favorite on the album lol :P)

  • lets take this 1 day at a time and vistit there shows every day!

    thumbs up if you agree!

  • wow, excellent job on this song with all the pics going along with the words, love this band, love this song and you killed it with this vid

  • This song is so epic that I'm getting the lyric " The time that we kill keeps us alive" tattooed on my back. How's that for Rise Against dedication?

  • @NaBiSc0DiSc0 if i could id get the whole song tattoed

  • @NaBiSc0DiSc0 Pics or it didn't happen

  • no doubt in my mind this is the greatest song ever made

  • has this song never been played live?

  • Opinion : Rise against is shit

Fact : Rise against gets you out of shit.

  • @MrDroeloeboy Very, very true.

  • @MrDroeloeboy opinion: people hated the opinion

Fact: people wanted to burn the person who made that opinion

  • I want to see song like this on Endgame. Siren song is my most favorite album. Appeal to reason style is great too but it's not as good as this. EVERY SINGLE ONE of their song are masterpiece. It's a shame this band is so underrated.

  • @AvarageRAfan theyre not really all that underrated. i think most everyone into rock or even metal knows them. doesnt take away from how awesome they r tho

  • @fuperman69 Well It's true but they deserve better than that. The world is so unfair.

  • i like "its life that scares me to death" and "the time that we kill keeps us alive"

  • best phrase ever

" We Came, in search of answers

    We Left, Emptyhanded

    shots fired

    into the sky

    are now returning

where the fuck will you hide!"

  • @nubber56 I really think the set of lyrics following that are even better = )

  • This is good but the lyrics blend into the pictures, so they are hard to read.

  • @GOLDteamruless don't care

  • The only thing I find sad about this band it's not the fact that is underrated (specially their best songs and albums), but the fact that when they get the atention they deserve (and I truly hope this happens), people and critics will probably just call them commercial or mainstreamers, and ignore them. When they get to a point where everyone listens to them, just remember sometimes you can get there with talent and effort; two things Rise Against has and make them kick so much ass.

  • This song and Paper Wings just make me feel good.

  • ha i was the 1000th like

  • @Foxsoccer333 go pick up your cookie at the closest walmart, itll be waiting for you (probably not)

  • @Pyrothingy ooh funny

  • good song, long ass name

  • amazing song

  • This song is so fucking unbelievably good. These guys are special. THANK YOU, RISE AGAINST!

  • 0:56-1:14 best part :)

  • This band has truly beautiful, meaningful, inspiring music I've ever heard. And they don't have whole albums of songs about how everything's going to be OK and life being perfect, because that's not how life is. They're realistic, but still optimistic. And thats what makes them the most AMAZING band EVER. Love you, Rise Against <3

  • Thank-you, Rise Against, for saving me from the overreacting depressed teenager that I was. It's been a year since I've discovered this band, And I've noticed I've become a much happier person. There's no point in getting upset over the little things. Rise Against raised my awareness of the world I live in. There are people out there working their lives away to send their children to school, and I don't want my education to go to waste, I want to be able to help, however little or large.

  • @NightXemnas w/o going into details much, your feelings are quite similar to mine.

Anyway my real point is: this is why Rise Against rocks and why they're is awesome!

Oh and I agree with the people here, this song is totally underrated, it's definitely one of my favorites.

    Peace friend

  • @NightXemnas I really like your comment and rise against has helped me a lot thru life as well. They helped me grow wiser. I don't know if I would be the person I am today if I didnt listen to them. I would a be dumb teenager..

  • This song is so awesome I legit tried to 'like' it two times because I was distracted by the epic music so much xD

  • i wish i could have a favourite rise against song like you guys but they're all so good!

  • by far my favorite song great job on the vid

  • probably the best song in the world...

  • sooooo excited im getting when i die, will they remember not, what i did but what i haven't done tattooded on my back with the paper wings and ra logo can't wait

  • What does Rumors of My Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated really mean?

  • @Slayarrrr I'm not dead, I haven't died, I'm still alive and so is my memory-also could refer to his memory, and how he hasn't been forgotten yet, hasn't descended into the pages of history, forever lost in dust, and still lives as if his body were alive. I THINk at least, not entirely sure.

  • @TheOlympiaLowlife It could also be a refference to Mark Twain, who is quoted as saying "Reports of my death have been greatly exagerated". They may have changed it slightly for the song title.

  • @Slayarrrr shut up.

  • @Slayarrrr It was a quote from Mark Twain when there was a rumor going around that he died.

  • This song is incredible, why am I only hearing it now? This has been my entire life.

  • @Furyaan I want a guitar solo being played on my coffin as it's being lowered into the ground. Something like the solo from Avenged Sevenfold's 'Seize the Day'.

  • I love the part when he says fuck!

  • @WarrenC48 dude, i love how everyones arguing about the meaning of this song, about violence and stuff, and your just like "I love the part when he says fuck!"

  • @DutchTallJacker Yeah but this song means so many different things to different people and really doesn't have one definite meaning unless Tim reveals it himself. But I do find it pretty awesome when Tim screams fuck cause he doesn't curse in alot of songs.

  • I just love this song!

  • This just makes me smile :D

I broke my mouse clicking the like button :L

  • @RISEANDBREAKING this is punk not rock lol

  • @riseagainstfan6797

Punk rock, if you want to get technical. It's more on the rock side than punk. Punk bands would be like old school AFI and Sum-41

  • @Krow83 actually by all the music experts i know they say its all rock and itunes says the same thing so i guess it could be controversial

  • @theblackdragon1212

Eh, I guess. But Rise Against is nothing close to punk with their last few albums lol

It's all good stuff, though ;)

You'd have to be a very sad person to hate this band.

  • @Krow83 Nothing close to punk? Then what would you define as Punk? So they're not old school punk (obviously) and they're not hugely similar to 90's punk like Rancid. But how could you not class Rise Against, or similar bands like NOFX or Alexis as Punk? Literally the only difference in style between Siren and Sufferer was the vocals were cleaner, and they only have 5 albums (unless you count This Is Noise) So 'Their last few' doesn't really make any sense anyway...

  • @theblackdragon1212 actually i dont give a shit who those little music experts you talking to were the exact genre they play is melodic punk rock

  • @theblackdragon1212 melodic punk/ melodic hardcore punk varying by song actually. not to sound like a smartass but its my favorite type of music and bands that put themselves into that catagory tend to have a similar sound.

  • @riseagainstfan6797 hahah ok :)

  • Comment removed

  • @AsianAbuser you say that because you dont know anything else than hiphop/rap/pop or whatever shit there is on the radio, and this band is bigger than those industrial idiots you listen to because this guys right here play to change the world , not for money as many faggots like usher do, so please inform yoursel before making bad comments about a band

  • @aniamanga117 Haha so now Alexisonfire, Incubus and Tool are commercial bands? This band would be fine but his voice is fucking dreadful. It's like he's not screaming but not singing, it's like he's been run over by a car and then trying to sing. If you want to know a band that s trying to change the world listen to Rage Against the Machine.

  • @AsianAbuser then sorry, i thought you were one of those faggots who think eminem is the best thing in the world, they are everywhere...

  • @aniamanga117 dicks dicks everywhere

  • @aniamanga117 I hate mainstream music but i think this guys voice is awful

  • @AsianAbuser

Tim's voice is what first drew me to Rise Against. If you don't think he can "really sing", go listen to Swing Life Away acoustic. Or better yet, just GTFO. The rest of us are here to enjoy the greatest band ever.

  • @ZzuniaSZ If he can sing great then why doesn't he in this song? His voice is just shouting. I love Screaming, I love Singing but shouting? Really not my cup of tea.

  • @AsianAbuser

Because Tim is not a one-trick pony, hon. He can sing, he can scream, he can shout, and I think his voice complements the music nicely here and in all other RA songs. Can you really imagine a sing-song Tim saying, "We came in search of answers, We left empty-handed again"?

Check out Audience of One, Roadside, But Tonight We Dance... Or just listen to the bands you like. Life's too short to listen to bands you hate.

  • @AsianAbuser Look man, if u dont like how he sings in this song then try listening to Appeal to reason, Re-Education through labour, or pretty much any song in that album. You don't have to be a douche and tell us how much you hate this song.

  • @AsianAbuser this is a public service anouncement, you dont know what music is.

  • i love this song
