Вполне логично. Дискавери перегазовал, пустил колеса в дрифт, а по скользкой поверхности это равносильна тому что машина на нейтральной передаче без тормозов стоит. Лексус воспользовался моментом, и потихоньку на пониженке его и уволок. Сдесь ничего сверх естественного нету.

The only way this is in any way meaningful is if the tires on each vehicle are exactly the same brand/tread/condition. Any old 4x4 pickup with the diffs welded, some wood in the bed and good traction tires would out-pull just about any sophisticated 4x4 with crap tires.

The only reason the happened was because one has locking diffs and one doesnt put an 04 discovery up against that lexus and its done.

Not only does the lexus have snow tyres but it kinda looks like there's a slight hill which also gives it more of a chance not very fair

Road tyres on the discovery, snow tyres on the Toyota. Hardly a fair contest. This is a good fix fairplay, to make the Landrover look bad. To the inexperienced off roader this would easily trick them in to thinking the Toyota is better.

I'd rather push my Land Rover than drive a Toyota. Nothing against Toyota, they're good, reliable etc, but loads of my family work for Land Rover so it's a matter of supporting them rather than a Japanese brand.

To be honest i think it would be more even if the discovery wasnt on 18" rims, most have 16" with alot more rubber and i think that would have made a big difference on snow

So i'd say there's a fix here {in a way] 'locked diff' against 'unlocked diff' This is exactly where the CDL comes into play.. This and wet bog or pulling somtin heavy on wet grass.. CDL central diff lock'' it makes a big difference well worth the cost !! the camra angle makes the lexus look massave ''''FIX

It wouldn't do that to mine !! this land rover has no CDL you can see the diff is not locked and is on the Lexus..land-rover put the CDL bits in it but never fitted the linkage to minimise the thinking or work the driver has to do'' still an amazing off roader but what were they thinking .you can take the linkage out of the older TDi or buy an after market one costs around 150 euro, not to hard to fit.lock the diff on that landrover an it would stop wiggling around put the power down.' continued

What do Americans call the Toyota Land Cruiser 200? Because in Australia we call what you call a 'Land Cruiser' a 'Toyota Prado'... Prado's are the toughest and best off road 4wd's you can buy!

I say its not surprising that the lexus won, discovery's are way too heavy and under-powered. Having said that the range rover would smoke any commercial SUV offroad, They are and always will be the kings of offroad!

Strange that land rover are recording record sales before and after the snow before you say. And in a climate with such an aggressive recession. Actually, I've owned both and the Lexus is a FAR superior vehicle in all aspects. I don't trust Range Rover to get me to the next hill and it can't tow a bicycle. My Lexus is a beast and can tow all my ATV's, my ski boat, etc. It just kicks the Landrover's ass.

@beerpower123 You can't rely on a Land Rover as you can on a Toyota... Land Rover takes there 4wd's for testing in a little bit of snow and probable at the Nurburgring... Toyota takes there 4wd's for testing in Australia and Africa in the harshest conditions! Toyota ftw!

It's not a fix. Lexus is a lot heavier and thus has more traction. More powerful, too. LR didn't stand a chance. I agree that it has the best traction control, no questions about that.

Such a fix! The Discovery driver was absolutely flooring it, so that the tyres are losing traction, and the lexus driver is just creeping forwards, maintaining maximum traction for him.
