FS2004 is for real pilots 100% Pilots use it instead of FSX. But i like FSX i got both but i kinda use FS2004 for Passenger airliners and FSX for military :) They both run fine Fs2004 i see well over 60fps fsx around 50fps :)

fs9 with a mouse guage mod, new replaced ground/water/ and building textures. Runs with FSX's look & similar feel but with lower load on your computer. Ofcourese its not the same, but its the best you can do if you dont have a higher spec'ed pc

i have the fsx and i have the everthing in the settings on max settings and it is 10 times better then the vidio comparison so fsx has a little bit les scenery but that is only because there is more advanced features (CPU specs: 2G nvidia graphics,4g RAM, 1TB harddrive and core i4 processer)

very well! put graphics on utlra high, scenery on high and the rest on medium high and you should run about 15-30 fps, different planes vary in fps.

If you ask me, Cessna, NYC, either in FS9 or FSX, remains as a frame hog. I once ended up 2-7fps while flying over it. If you want NYC to run at its best, then I'd suggest Aerosoft's Manahattan X scenery.

If compared on a 5000 dollar computer, then FSX would take the win. It does run kinda shitty on normal computers, but if you have the right video cards and CPU's then FSX is outstanding. I have FSX. im on one of those crappier computers. i have played 2004 and its alright. but i have seen FSX being played in DirectX 11 with HD graphics cards. and it looks like im actually in a real plane. Looks amazing!!!!

Hey everyone, i have a question about landing. Could someone tell me how high my aircraft should be at certain distances from the runway during approach? Or could you provide a site that gives specific details about it? I recently learned ILS, but I dont look at the needle (or even know where it is), I just really need to know approach heights from x miles out. Thanks

How I learned was you need a 3 degree downward angle. You should also pick a spot around 50 feet from the end of the runway and aim for that point, when you get closer obviously pull up and glide into the landing, flare just a little right before you land.

Really good! I am running at medium-high settings. There are two problems though.

1. My video card SUCKS! If I had a better video card, my computer would be the "godly" computer. This is something I will probably not fix anytime soon.

2. Every so often, in flight simulator (only FS, no other games), the screen flashes. The flash is only for one or two milliseconds, but it flashes about every 5 - 30 seconds. This may be because of my wide screen monitor. I am running a resolution of 1600X900.

You wouldn't happen to know how to fix it though, right? It's annoying, especially because it only happens with FS (both FS2004 and FSX). And it's the kind of flash that would happen if some scenery takes a little too long to load.

Does HP make your computer? If so, then you have the step down from mine. There are two HP computers, one is mine and one is a slightly worse version. Also, did yours come with a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Mine came with an HP mouse, HP keyboard, and an HP 22" monitor. Pretty good deal for only $800. I think the other HP is about $600.

Ok, I'll try going down to DirectX 9. But it's kind of hard to tell which version I have. Performance tests and whatnot say I have DirectX 10, but the "dxdiag" menu says I have DirectX 11. And Windows 7 comes with DirectX 11 (supposedly). But I will install version 9 and see what happens.

It always seems like the software is about 4 years behind the hardware for games and flight sim because FS 2004 runs awesome pretty much on any machine now, and you would have to drop a couple grande on a machien to run the new stuff.
