This is such a horrible commercial. The reality of being ticketed is so far from the spookiness of the storyline.  Using paid actors and dramatic cinematography to create such a farce is no way to publicize the Click It-or-Ticket laws, and a real waste of taxpayers' money for credible advertising.

Commercials in the US about seat belt safety and drunk driving have become  "sugar coated". They don't want to "offend" anyone, and "there's no reason why children should be subjected to graphic scenes".

The commercials in Britain, Australia and other European countries are a bit more forceful in getting the message out and I seriously doubt if any kids were traumatized viewing them. Why shouldn't we step up the ads a bit to get the point across?

Thats not very effective. I like the seatbelt commercials from the UK were they show the physical consequences of not wearing a seatbelt and how you could kill your loved ones by flying around inside the car. Very viscreal, very potent. A lot better than some vague cohersive threat of social reprocussions.
