  • She was a great artist and a true cosmopolitan. She belongs to the world. Timeless Dalida.

  • One last comment, when she sings "Helwa ya baladi" in Arabic for Egypt, I think Dalida makes a very strong eternal statement that all should acknowledge and respect. She considered herself Egyptian too. Period.

  • @skanaan1 nice name

  • @skanaan1 mine too :D :D !

  • @skanaan1 actually the correct way is spelled " Salama " not " salma "

and in arabic salama , means saftey , also this is what she is refering to .

  • @RockAngel7878 no salma is different than salama , we names boy salama and girl salma

  • @skanaan1 ur arabic right?a lot of arab girls are named salma

  • dis dis comment est-t-elle decedee? :s :/

  • i have heard that many american companies wanted to adopt dalida as a great star in usa because she attracted many americans there but she refused to sign the contract with them, that why their albums were not well distributed there in that time

  • what is the difference between women before and most of them now:the woman before is really the source of beauty,femininity....but now many of them look like men, because of their manner of dressing, their behaviour....everything has lost his nature and become artificial

  • My best arabc friend

  • En France on continue à danser sur cette musique, et ça ne va pas arrêter, c'est certain!

  • PEACE BE WITH YOU.

    SIMPLY THE BEST....

  • я, коли був студентом, часто слухав цю пісню.... 1981-82

  • like the song. the dancing is silly.

  • Adorable Dalida, .....je t, aieme ¡¡¡¡

  • ты просто прелесть!!!!!

  • Hi guys... i just wanna make one thing clear: The only part which was taken from the folk song is the "Salma ya salama" refrain (Chorus).

The rest of the song is written and arranged by Jeff Barnel in 1978 including the stanzas

  • Bonita canción muy bien cantada por Dalida. Mis felicitaciones.

  • صوت جميل جدا نقي غير خادع

  • the only arabic song that I like

  • @beatricea1982 LOL you clearly havnt listened to ANY other arabic songs

  • @CrapGameVids haha believe me I grew up in Middle East. I have listened to loads of Arabic song but I was never fan of them, but this song has meaningful meaning and its not about love as most of the other Arabic songs are. Anyways, that's me opinion.

  • @beatricea1982 Oh fair enough, your opinion :)

  • I'm browsing the Tube enjoing great music and great artists from al over the planet... humans have al in common and really nothing to separate them - ただいま I'm home!

  • greetings from morocco

  • çok güzel

  • i absolutely love dalida! my yaya had the privelege of knowing her!

  • @venitienDeLevallois

What venoyvj meant is that the indians copied the tune from this song to make a song of their own, meaning it is the indians that are at fault. OK. INDIANS LOVE TO COPY, THEY CANNOT MAKE ANYTHING OF THEIR OWN, ATLEAST IN COMPOSING SONGS!

  • i really love this song and the music is so lovely

  • je kiffff trop

  • The perfection when it comes to women means DALIDA in all lanugages on earth. She's so mesmerizing that I can't help looking at her all day long. :]

  • She remains the BEST

  • She looks like my grandmother :D

  • On voit dans son visage le plaisir de chanter en arabe, l'aise, la poesie! C'est beau de voir les gens qui se lachent dans les langues familiaires, comme Celine Dion en francais.

  • me encanta Dalida, Saludos desde Lima, Perú (Latin america)

  • i love this song

  • pour mes amis et amies du Maroc

  • thank you very much venitiendelevallios i am egyptian dalida represent dream fr me thanks again realy i appreciate ur effort

  • Bien meilleur qu'en français! L'arabe est une langue extrèmement mélodieuse bien que le débit y soit haché (ou peut-être grâce à ça?...) et cette chanson est formidable!

  • thay guy who says it's a iraqi song . hhhhhhhhhhh is it clear from the dialect or the music?!!!! is so faaaaaaaar away from the !iraqi music

  • Egypt love dalida and dalida love Egypt

this is an old egyptian song salma ya salama .

    long live Egypt

  • Merveilleuse!

  • I'm not arabic, but I love this song!

  • @AnthonyYaff then you should get some of her albums - this woman is extraordinarily talented and has a wonderful voice, and in additoin some of her songs have a lot of humor, and she sings in a handful of languages

  • @AnthonyYaff i proud to here that thanks :):)

  • this song was originnaly made in iraq somewhere around the 1950s when there was just radios and people started stealing the song and now they say it was made in egypt. wrong !!!!!!

  • @meyouthemuswewho This song is very old and it is an Egyptian folklore it's composer is Sayed Darwish an Egyptian man who composed the Egyptian national anthem and the lyrics' writer is Badi' Khairy an Egyptian poet. And when this song was sung by Dalida some words were changed also there is a remix of this song and other versions like the arabic version and the french and all of them are forms of the same original egyptian folklore song and who sang them is an Egyptian singer who is Dalida.

  • @meyouthemuswewho

that's the most silly thing I've ever heard

its an Egyptian folklore since hundreds of years not from the 50s as you wrote

and salah jahine rewrited it for dalida

  • very beautiful calming song....can someone translate the song into english...i never there was this version to the song...i only knew of the newer one

  • @scoobaye "fil donya el kbeera" in the big world "we beladha el kteera" and its many countries "lafeet lafeet lafeet " I travelled around around around "we lamma nadany" and when he called me "hobby el awalany " my first love "sebt kolo we geet" I left everything behind and came back "we fi hodno etrameet " I threw myself in his arms "we ghaneet" and I sang salma ya salama "rohna we geena belsalama" we went and came back safely

  • ána nen hebek barscha <3 <3

  • love you

  • Dalida is one of those incredible performers who will live forever because she is in our hearts and souls in so many different languages!

  • @venoyvj

Wrong. This tune is thousands years old and it is Egytian folk song

  • @VenitienDeLevallois i guess venoyvj meant that indians took this tune into one of their movies...not that its originally hindi

  • @VenitienDeLevallois , yes the other person is admitting that this beautiful song was copied FOR a hindi movie. I LOVE ARABIAN SONGS....

  • @VenitienDeLevallois

He/she said copied 'FOR' and not 'FROM' - read it properly.

  • @VenitienDeLevallois

Actually, Venetien, Venoyvj said the tune was "copied for", not copied from. The difference is in the for or from. For meaning that this song was borrowed and used as a Hindi song. He was not saying it was a version of a Hindi song. Hence, he could say. This the hindi version of this song wad copied from the Egyptian song Salma, ya salma..

  • @VenitienDeLevallois he said is was copied "for " not "from", meaning the hindis like it too :)

  • @VenitienDeLevallois The person who wrote those comments did not dispute this song tune being 10000's of years old. He said ... copied of a Hindi Film.... Not Copied from.... Cheers... and cool down pls.

  • @VenitienDeLevallois The person who wrote those comments did not dispute this song tune being 10000's of years old. He said ... copied for a Hindi Film.... Not Copied from.... Cheers... and cool down pls.

  • @VenitienDeLevallois so because it's old, it makes it bad. old songs are what make the songs we have today if it wasn't for these songs we wouldn't have the songs we have today.

  • @VenitienDeLevallois

    She was Egyptian.....

  • @VenitienDeLevallois

    Well, she WAS Egyptian.....

  • @micheline75018 Italian Egyptian. Expelled in 1952 to Italy.

  • @micheline75018

She was ethnically Italian actually. her family originated from Italy. There was no Arab blood in her.
