This interview is awesome, he's so candid about everything. One embarrassing moment though was when the interviewer said he was nominated for an Oscar for Inside Man or something.
I always thought this guys a great actor...since I saw him in some war movie....wow I am surprised he is Canadian...he speaks so posh I thought he was British :)
I have no words to express my admiration for this phenomenal actor. I think I've seen all his movies and I always thought that there is no other equal to Christopher Plumer ( he has so much talent and a special charm)
Sorry!!!
My English is too bad to describe what I feel every time I see Christopher Plummer.
It was my good fortune to see Christopher Plummer on Broadway in CYRANO (for which he won a richly deserved Tony Award); in Neil Simon's THE GOOD DOCTOR (he's wonderful in comedy!); as Iago in OTHELLO (superb interpretation!); and as BARRYMORE (in his immensely entertaining one man show). He is one of the very best actors that I have ever seen in the theater. He recently said in an interview that he doing BARRYMORE in Montreal and filming it! Make certain to see it!
Good one- its nice that he's so articulate and takes time to answer every questions... and his voice- awesome... I think hollywood of today needs to learn from him and so from the other great legends..... thanks for sharing.
80's? I'd have said early 60's. He doesn't have even a tinge of that shakiness of the elderly, and so sharp and quick. I have to get his book. I find his stories fascinating.
If you want to act, audition for every available role, in whatever venue (school, community theater, etc.) If they offer you a role, TAKE it, no matter how small. You learn how to act by acting. Ideally, you will find and study with a first-rate voice teacher. You will also study dance, or perhaps tai chi chuan. Good actors move gracefully or at least without awkwardness. And they don't have to force their voices, because they use 'em with optimum efficiency.
Look at a great actor like Christopher Plummer who's been acting since the late 50's and was just finally nominated in 2009 for an oscar. Then you got guys like George Clooney. Clooney has been nominated 4 times and won once. I admire Clooney's philanthropy work and all but he basically plays himself in every movie. The Oscars are a joke to me. People Like Gary Oldman have never even been nominated.
hes 80 years old, but if you hear his grammar and his sentence structure he speaks as if hes still in his 60s. This man is still young. Hes my favorite male actor and I first learn about him on "Air Canada TV" on my way to Toronto from Madrid Spain and not to mention I live here in the states.
I've liked Christopher Plummer since I had a crush on him as a teenager. Great actor, very personable and entertaining. He was also amazingly good looking when in his prime.
Great interview. I loved his autobiography, "In Spite of Myself." Such a great read. That's one book I'll buy for myself (I'd checked it out at the library).
I think its awesome that a video game has introduced both this man and Max Von Sydow to the younger generations such as myself. Such amazing artists!

Lovely interview. But why, if born and raised in Canada, does he sound like Prince Phillip? Is it an upper-class thing?
