Hello, I was wondering if someone can point out to me any websites that can help me in researching Islam in the military. While not associated with the religion, both of my parents served in the Air force, and I am a big believer in the idea that diversity is what makes our Armed Forces as strong as it currently is. t
The problem is really not muslims in the US military. It's a problem of politics, not religion. During WWII, people who has japanese origins and served in the army (and during the battle against Japan) were not trusted neither, but turned out to be loyal to USA. This shows humanity always needs a "black sheep." One day it's jews, another day it's muslims, or christians, or Americans, or arabs... Hopefully one day people will wake up and realize how stupid they are. This should stop.

If muslims chose to live in the West they must integrate. We believe in freedom of religion in the west so chaning one's religion is not required. Likewise if westerners chose to live in muslim lands they must also integrate but this is hypothetical as muslim countries rarely allow permanent immigration.
In Muslim countries changing ones religion is not required as we have have always had people of various faiths living with in our countries. Muslims should intergrate to a certain extent. Joining the military is not one of those things.

Of course Bin Laden does not represent all Muslims but Muslims are not vocal in their criticism of Wahabiism and Salafism which chain muslims to the values of the 7th century. I think in the US it is probably tokenism as the US constitution guarantees a separation of Church and State. Nobody is calling for the introduction of Biblical law yet I have heard many in the muslim world calling for the introduction of Sharia.

The problem is really not muslims in the US military. It's a problem of politics, not religion. During WWII, people who has japanese origins and served in the army (and during the battle against Japan) were not trusted neither, but turned out to be loyal to USA. This shows humanity always needs a "black sheep." One day it's jews, another day it's muslims, or christians, or Americans, or arabs... Hopefully one day people will wake up and realize how stupid they are. This should stop.

I think in the US it is probably tokenism as the US constitution guarantees a separation of Church and State. Nobody is calling for the introduction of Biblical law yet I have heard many in the muslim world calling for the introduction of Sharia.
