I saw this when I was young too in English on TV. It was so powerful I still remembered it after years and years and found it online again and watched it.
I still haven't found Future War 198X though, another great.

It's sad, but you could see it coming from the very beginning. To me it was far more sad Isu's loss of his wife Marin (the first time I watched the movie was around 1990, I was a 5 YO back then)

oh man...I cried like a total baby. This part disturbed me when I was a little girl. I didn't know this movie was made for people a bit older. The end especially makes me brawl.
She realized that they couldn't be together do to their resonsibilities on the behalf of their kingdoms that were fighting against eachother in a civil war. The only way they could be together was in death..... This movie is truly the most beautiful epic movies I ever seen. I first saw it when I was 13. It was about alan, the main character and the waging wars against both countries. The scene afterwards was much more sadder when alan found out his wife was dead and he flooded his own kingdom

Yeah The scene was very well done in english I was also pretty young when I saw this movie. In fact I might have been in 6th grade I used to repeatedly rent this movie from blockbuster XP

Never mind, I found it, and I didn't realize that she (Druid) was actually going to see the ghost ship, she hadn't gone insane from drinking polluted water like the English version said. Sorry :)

But I think it ended on a positive note, i.e. people learned that war is not the ultimate solution. Ah, well we can only dream, can't we?
Because whether Paro or Isa won, neither would be welcome. I'd rather they eloped to wherever else the villagers from Saki safely moved to; Saki, Paro, and Isa aren't the only places there. Ahanas' suicide only procures the extinction of Isa's civilization.
If you can - and if you like - please post clips of the entire original Japanese "Windaria" in separate installments on YouTube. I know many users dying to see the original would appreciate that. Also, if you have the trailer to "Windaria", please post it. Thanks again!

I watched this movie when I was young as well. This scene was just as powerful in the English as it was the Japanese.
I wish an anime company would buy rights to this so they can redub it and add the Japanese audio with English subtitles.
That would be so awesome if they could do that.
