  • why have a connector at all. just expose the coax and strip back and attach the shield

ok now you can say why this won't work

  • Thanks for the help. will the procedure remain the same for an LMR 600 cable? I don't have a separate crimper for my cable. Can I just use standard pliers to press the connector tight? That's what you seem to be doing with the connector. any help is a big help. Thanks again.

  • @sahilmalhotra17 yea, should remain the same with the LMR 600 cable. I have used a pair of standard pliers once before, but I dont recommend it! If you have Self Amalgamating Tape then you might be able to get away with it by taping up the cable/connector. (or even just insulation tape). hope that helps!

  • @robertskyrove Thanks for your help. I am currently designing a 5 km LOS link while trying to stay within FCC and WPC(india) regulations for 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz. My Fade margins right now are 23 dB and 14 dB for either frequency. Do you think this link will hold up with small intrusions into the fresnel zone and even into LOS considering that My fresnel zone 60 percent clears the ground by about 1 meter

  • you were gonna cut yourself bad with the box cutter.

  • Big help, thx!
