A lot of guitar players bash on the m13 and other line6 products because it doesn't sound as good or close to stomps. I have the m13 and I run it through a ac30 and I wouldn't change a thing besides adding a few additional pedals along with the m13.
thank you for your posts......if you want to answer me....i ve heard about "loss" of the signal with machines like m 13, or tc nova....is that true????greetings from Greece...and thank you very much
I haven't really noticed any loss of signal with the M13, just because you can set it to True Bypass if you want to. I think some players don't like the idea of any digital effects or modeling in the signal chain so they talk about "loss" of signal. But I love the M13 and use it professionally all around the USA.
This amp is a USA made Egnater MOD50. It has modules (like the Randall amps) and this is running into the BMAN module, channel 1, so it's like a fat clean Fender Bassman sound.
thanks much. I guess Fender calls it Sonic Blue. It's cool, though because it's aged/relic'd so it has some yellow to it as well which makes it look really vintage-y.
This was certainly an educational video, even if it was short it was just enough to give me an idea of what it can do with distortion. Which strangely is few and far between. Thanks for the videos. =D
Question about the tap tempo for the delay. when you tap a tempo in then shut it offthen the next time you turn the same delay on does it recall the same tempo you just tapped in? get my question?? so basically does it autopsave your tempo everytime you tap one in
Yes, it does. And tap tempo is scene-specific. So if you tap out soemthing close to 120bpm in your first scene, even if you go to your second and tap out 75bpm, you can come back to the 1st scene and still have it at 120. What's cool about that is you can set 12 scenes each for a song and have all of the tempos already set up for your tunes.
ok. I was hoping it just changed as you changed it. cus lets say you have an overdrive on and the delay you got your tempo on your scene saved at like 120 but next song you want the same scene and you tap in 140 then turn it off then turn it back on later in the song your saying it will revert back to the original every time. I may sound stupid lol
Thanks for all your vids, I am pretty convinced now. I'm thinking about getting M9. Did you try M9? How does it compare to M13 in sound? btw, what kind of pickup does the guitar have? I hear 60hz hum quickly fades out 0:08; is it because of the noise gate of M13?
i own the m13 and i can honestly say its amazing .. i wanted to build this huge intense peddle board but figured that id give the m13 a try first, It does everything and anything i could want ... just add you preferred wah and your set ... as for the m9 .... its 100 dollars cheaper and your probably gonna miss allot of what the m13 has to offer ... i think the extra bill is most definitely wrorth it
I was a beta tester for M9 so I've had mine for 4 or 5 months now. I think it's great. Sound quality is identical- effects are identical. The only thing you really give up is the stereo send and returns on the M13, so no FX loop in the M9.
This guitar had DiMarzio Virtual Vintage pups, but my house has 60 year old dirty power. So if the noise went away, it's either because the noise gate kicked in or I rolled the volume off on the guitar.
You'd have to do that by hand. Unfortunately, there's no way to scroll through folders with your feet. You could use a midi controller and that would let you scroll through banks, but it kinda defeats the convenience of the M13.
I absolutely love this thing. I'd actually wanna rate it an 11. I will add, though, that I get most of my gain sounds from my amplifier (an Egnater MOD50). The M13 drives are great, but I normally use them just to supplement instead of as my everyday overdrive sounds.
With Humbucker and I wouldn't hear the differens between that sound and the "real" Switchfoot sound :O
I'm thinking about to get this with two EB VP jr. One for volume and one as a expression pedal (for wah, whammy ant that stuff).. Would that be an good idea?
Almost always the Digital Delay with Modulation so that it adds some sparkle to it. I think this patch might actually use the Analog Delay with Modulation though because it sounds a little midrangey to me.
have you ran through the problem most M13 users have faced? the one when you use the mod delays for about 10 minutes or so and then the modulation starts to fade away and all you get is the delay
oh i mean this is a problem that most people have faced on the M13 using the digitial delay w/ mod. seems like a lot of people are going through it along with a couple of other bugs.
Fer sure. In this case, it's the Classic Distortion in it's default settings I also added some delay just to thicken things up.
My general rules are to set a clean, crunch, and solo settings. Clean is always the Boost Comp with the drive and comp rolled down and the output rolled up. Crunch and solo are always the Tube Drive Model, just one with higher gain and higher output. And then I always run a little bit of Digital Delay to add some delay sparkle to everything.
Sounds great! When you use this with your MOD 50, can the M13 be set up to switch channels on the amp and use the amps distortion in preset scenes? Thanks. Great demo.
They're the stock CS pickups. They're really low output with a darker sound to them. They're great for heavier overdriven sounds because they smooth out the harshness of a strat when using distorted guitar tones.
I tried connecting my M13 to a loner amp (mesa F-50) this weekend for a rehearsal through a 4 cable method, it sounded like mud, I tried switching drive channels before and after the loop but it was either too loud or too dead sounding. Any tips on getting a good sound with this? The amp was clean, and I attempted using the dirt from the M13.
I appreciate you taking the time to post these video's, I plan on doing a few in the near future to help others as well
I don't have any tips, really. For me, the $CM method works great with my Egnater MOD50. I know that it likes to see a series loop instead of a parallel loop, though. I got some funky phasing issues with a parallel loop.
yeah, this was into the BMAN module, set clean. So any amp with a really full sounding clean would give you this. The Classic Distortion settings were the stock ones when you select the patch.
i thumbs up cos u played switchfoot:)

Hey how good is the Noise supressor/reducer/gate on the pedal in you opinion?
Den1sVengeance 1 year ago
@Den1sVengeance
I think it's great. ANY noise suppressor is gonna cut off some sustain, but I use this one in moderation and it's very musical.

No, you have it right. It autosaves whatever you tapped in last and keeps that tempo in that scene until you change it again.
