Catherine earned 7500 dollar per episode and asked for 2500 more and got fired. only the dynasty producers can be blamed that season 7 was such a downhill. i mean i feel sorry for karen, even though she was not the amanda catherine was. catherine was asked to come back after cellini got fired but she said no....and did it again when they asked her to come back for the reunion in 1991. i think this was the right decision. first fireing her and then ask her back???? well done catherine!

That was her last scene?! What a crap ending for Amanda. I've been watching season 5 and I remembered how much I loved Catherine Oxenberg back then. Season 5 was the beginning of the end, but Amanda made it tolerable. All down hill after Moldavia. A new Amanda really didn't help.

She was such a joke. Dynasty had just gone to such sh*t by this point. Spelling and company just thought they could do anything so they threw this poor hag in at the last minute simply because she bore a passing resemblance to Oxenberg. Funny that didnt matter when they were recasting Fallon. I dont watch Dynasty after about season 5, 6.

originally this was gonna set a scene of amandas death. she was to drown on the boat and he would get blamed. and originally it was planned for the 2 get married and move into the carrington mansion.

Karen got a bad rap; she is extremely talented and was put in a no win situation. She's a beautiful and talented performer who should be a star. Much more going for her than many so-called celebrities.

I hated the Amanda & Michael storyline, Karen was so ugly and such a wooden actress, they should have paid Catherine Oxenberg anything she wanted to stay on the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@soapwonder Yeah, because Catherine Oxenberg was the World's greatest and Oscar-winning actress! Cellin was hired three days before shooting Season 7, and then fired within less than two months, I acutally felt sorry for her, she could have done something with the role, but boring storylines and typical Dynasty bitching on the set and stress because of dropping ratings resulted in what we got! An interesting thing is that, the writers were planning to kill off Amanda after this scene!

Karen Cellini's replacement of Catherine Oxenberg was like the flip-side of Emma Samms replacing Pamela Sue Martin. Cellini was very believable as the sister of Martin - no accent and not at all shy and retiring like Samms played the Fallon role. Had the scripts not declined so horribly, it would have been interesting to see her actually do something with the role, different than Oxenberg's whiney, conniving portrayal of Amanda.

Problem is Karen Cellini didn't play against Martin, and Amanda was supposed to be British.

The problem was they cast Cellini and Samms in the wrong roles - had Samms been Amanda and Cellini Fallon, it might've worked better.

I'd forgotten that the 2nd Amanda wasn't even English anymore - that's absolutely ridiculous!

Perhaps a criteria for a replacement Amanda should have been a cut-glass English accent?!?

I was a big fan of Catherine and missed her a lot, but Karen Cellini could have been an acceptable recast. In the end she became a victim of very very bad scripts and horrible storylines. Don't judge her too hard, everything was bad on DYNASTY in this Season!

There is no comparison whatsoever between the SUPERB Catherine Oxenberg and Karen Cellini. Losing the original Amanda was one of the biggest mistakes Dynasty producers ever made...

It's funny, Catherine's version of Amanda was so sweet and innocent, yet Karen's version is really much tougher and challenging. You'd never have seen Catherine's version speak in that angry tone.

Catherine's Amanda sweet and innocent? Good good! She twice slept with her mother's husband, tried to commit suicide, threw Sammy Jo in the pool, stoked the rivalry between Blake and Alexis, became fiercely jealous of the Duchess of Brahna, and outed herself in the Denver Chronicle as being Alexis' secret love child. I loved CO's Amanda, but she was as much a Carrington as the rest of them.

Wow..not much of a send off. I think it's funny she didn't even try to do a British accent, but when they recast Emma Samms as Fallon, she spoke with an American accent. I wish I could find the full seasons to download. I have up to Season 6..would love the have the rest, including The Colbys.

What are you talking about? Emma Samms didn't drop the British accent when she took over the role of Fallon!
