  • They are a black band from the Bay Area. I think this record came out in 64? They were also called the Lovers and the Pacesetters. James Gregory and Daniel Saunders later did two funk 45s under the names Primevil (which i put on the Bay Area Funk Vol 2 on Ubiquity Recs) and... ummm... haha... something and the City Folk on Skillet Recs.

  • Yeah these guys sound a lot like the Impressions led by Curtis Mayfield.

  • Now we now Know!~ Curtis Mayfield must have heard this group back in the day!~I wonder was Curtis on this record ? could this have been a young Curtis singing with this group!~The Emotions~~need more info on this group!~ and were they Black or a white singing group, just Curiuos~
