I always took this as a bunch of dudes just hanging out, having fun, jamming out some tunes that they like and making up a few originals as they go along..

just having fun like a bunch of 15 year olds havin the time of their lives rocking out in a garage.

this is an awful cover. you're ruining the melody. too fast. you just completely mess up the song. hell is artsy and french-pretentious. you have to play it like that or else it makes no sense. 'triangles were falling at the window as the doctor cursed' that's a totally different vibe from what you're doing. you're doing like metalgoth.

Take note that 2 voidoids are in the band- Ivan Julien and Marc Bell. The distorted bad audio isn't helping, and you need to give some allowance to it being a live #. Even when they do misfits tunes it is far more a noisy blur than the originals.

well, that's news to me. I recognize them now. What can I say. They have more of a right to decide how it should sound than I do, but I have to say I still feel the same way. Certainly the bad sound is part of it. I just think its too fast and the singer completely misinterprets the melody.

Well I'm not saying Its great. the singer doesn't have much of a pedigree, I forget his name, but he's an asian dude that makes videos and produces stuff... he's a friend of Jerry Only's. Osaka is a would be Suoergroup of old punks: Julien, Bell (Marky Ramone), Jerry (Misfits), and Dez Cadena (Black Flag). They put out a cd of original stuff, and do alot of covers live.

of course, but a good cover can't completely compromise the point and feel of the song either. put them on side by side and tell me this is a interesting and viable alternative to the original. if you can't add to a song, if you can't in some way be better, you shouldn't cover it. or at least you shouldn't put your cover on youtube.

covers are almost never better or as good as the original. the point is to make it your own. I think they did that. I mean, i like the original waaay more. but this one isn't terrible. i kinda like the guy's voice.

By the way guys, sorry for my previous comment. I didn't mean to offend anyone by saying it was by Osaka Popstar. Yes I know that it's by the Voidoids, and almost every osaka popstar song available is a COVER! I'm just saying that it's my favorite song that I have heard them play. That doesn't mean I think it was written by them. Pussies.
