  • the 2400 XT is very very very shit!!! I know because I also have such :S

  • for max settings minium a hd 4870 or hd 5770

  • would my game run better

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz

    2GB RAM

    ati radeon HD4650 1GB DDR2???

  • @marfg12345 Way better. except 2gb ram isn't enough for Crysis on vista. Crucial sells ram really cheap if you wanna upgrade.

  • @GeekyNerd27 im running on windows xp and i heard that RAM is not that important in crysis unless you play on mac, windoes 7 or vista, but im on xp, so yeah.... and btw, i overclocked my CPU to 2,4GHz and i bought a cooler! i'm gonna oc it to 2,6GHz, so that will run on high settings??

  • @marfg12345 In my opinion, RAM and GPU are have the largest impact on how crysis runs. You'll be fine with 2gb and xp. But you won't be able to do the advanced directx 10 graphics in crysis, because XP doesn't support that. However, the 4650 isn't fast enough for that anyway :(

Wait...... Are you on a Mac? If so, how did you overclock?

  • @GeekyNerd27 yeah, i know that gpu ain't good, im buying HD5670 1GB GDDR5, what do you think about that gfx?????

  • @marfg12345 Ahhh... A 5000 series. Those are amazing. Definitely get the 5670. But it's kinda pointless without windows 7, because of directx 11. Games like DiRT2 and Crysis 2 support dx11, which are amazing graphics.

I'm running an HD3870 512mb! And that's decent. It will almost max crysis, it supports up to dx 10.1, so I'm pretty happy with it. Plus, I bough it for only $80 from a friend. :) they go for about $100 now.

  • @GeekyNerd27 hmmm, well, i don't intend to play on ultra high, i just wan't to play on high, will i lag with HD5670 1GB GDDR5???? ON HIGH? and if xp does not support dx11 that means i won't be able to play on very high??? please reply, i apreciate it! i subed btw

  • @marfg12345 If you're just gonna do high, xp and the 5670 will do very well. I don't think you'll get much lag.

The highest version of DirectX XP supports is DirectX 9. Personally, I recommend upgrading to win7; there's just quite a number of advantages to it.

For Crysis, there are workarounds and hacks that will get you the dx10 effects in dx9 crysis---almost. A google for "Crysis dx9 very high hack" should get you there.

  • @GeekyNerd27 i just ask you if the very high options will be available, i know that directx 11 has something to do with shaders and shadows, they will lock at high, i know that, but will the rest of the settings be available like: textures, physics, motion blur, particles quality??? please reply!

  • @marfg12345 To answer your question:

Because you are using Windows XP, no Very High options in Crysis will not be available.

Crysis does not currently support DX11 anyway, however.

Now I'm not sure what you mean by "Will the rest of the settings be available?"

  • @GeekyNerd27 yea i know, im stuck with dx9, but i saw a xp hack, enables very high settings, but it doesn't enable very high shaders and very high shadows everything else is unlocked:=

  • @marfg12345 Oh I see what you mean. There is a hack to get very high in XP. It does effect shaders and shadows, but but only makes them almost very high. (e.g. The sun still won't be as large as very high, shadows are slightly less crisp)

  • @marfg12345 you won't get to much lagg but it won't be great ethier it takes at leas a 48X0 or a 57X0 serie card to play on high with acceptable fps

  • @GeekyNerd27 yeah, and i will download the demo next week, i can't now, i have some bussines, but i will reply to you when i download the demo:) lol

  • hey if you overclock your graphics card on windows using bootcamp. will the effect on your graphics card transfer over once you go back to snow leopard? oh and what program did you use to overclock?=)

  • You need to upgrade to 4gb of ram

  • Silly People , Macs and Apple Computers aren't Meant for Gaming , ..They are Meant to Sit with and look Snobby while checking your E-mail and Drinking your StarBucks Coffee.

  • You kidding me? this card is shit.. it runs crysis?!?!? I had it! with AMD athlon 64 as well! I got phenon x 3,2 gb ram, 4670 hd now and its WAYYY better. Ultra high @ 15 fps.

  • i have the same computer. any way to upgrade it???

  • @juicedup14 RAM or external hard drive... But that's it.

  • @GeekyNerd27 You can upgrade the internal hard drive, but you need to remove the glass and screen.

  • and you paid 2000$ for this trash

  • Hey can any of you guys help me out, i got my 20'' imac in 2008 and i have Ati Radeon 2400 HD XT with DDR2 SDRAM and 1 GB can any of you tell me if that's good enough or if it's possible to take it somewhere and install better hardware?

  • @R3DMAN451 Your mac is almost ready to play games. Just install 1 gb more ram (into the slot below the apple logo). Buy it from crucial; they're way cheaper than apple (about $30).

  • pretty impressive for a mac :P not to mention 128 mb of ddr2 ram on the video card however if im correct it will also cache another 128 or more ram since its a mobile chipset

  • me too

  • @LiLAbdi97 That's like saying your mother is beautiful but ugly.

  • If it can play Crysis, it can play every game out there.

  • @bg048

yeah.. all the games, but gta 4 it's an exception. You need a computer from NASA to run it correctly >:((

GTA 4 sucks!!! and even more if you are playing on pc!!!!!

    sorry for my english :(

  • GTA 4 is just a memory hog. you need at least 2gbs to play it.

  • @jacobonix

GTAIv is a great game i cann run it with ENBSeries AA all maximum and i dont ahve the best and not a nasa pc!!

  • I know, GTA IV lags on my PS3 while running it at 720p.

  • this is why macs suck; Also Crysis requires atleast a dual core 2.8ghz

  • wrong

i have an imac which sadly only hasa core 2 duo 2.4GHz, 2gb ram, ati mobility radeon HD 2400 XT only with 128mb ram, and i can run it with many things at medium

  • @chALBO

any idea where that leaves me with my 512mb vram does it mean my mac wont lag wen a smoke grenade goes off?

  • where do i get the latest drivers for this card cuz i have an imac with this card

  • is this considered good perfomance? 'Cos I have the same card but like much more RAM, and I always thought mine was a low-end card

  • Wow. I have the Ati Radeon 2400 in my iMac, but it runs better than this, wonder why.

  • u probably have more ram

  • I had 1 gig when I first played, 2 gigs now but it didn't really improve performance.

  • thats sad

  • Bwahaha. Its a real gaming machine alright.

  • causing lag at some points

  • if you asked me it looks like the processor.

  • the cpu isn't the problem, it's lack of ram. I told Crysis to run on only one cpu, so it was running on the equivalent of a 2GHz p4. THAT was problematic. but the 2ghz dual core is fine for the game. But now I have a quad 2GHz so it's all good :)

  • so this is how crysis looks with lowest settings...

  • Ive got the 24" early 2008 Imac with the 2.8ghz C2D 2gb ddr2-800mhz ram, and the HD 2600 PRO, the 2600 PRO has a fair bit of grunt check out my gaming video on the imac, it runs crysis on med-high settings at 1680x1050, im very happy with the performance of a card that i didn't expect to play much, but it seems to play anything i throw at it

  • lags so much

  • Hw ca you shared the system ram to vram?? I install windows xp but..

  • In vista and win7 it just did it automatically. Based on my experience xp doesn't automatically share vram. I haven't figured out how either. You're not the first to ask...

  • Mac sucks why it sells for over a thousand bucks

  • my sister just spent $450 on a gateway laptop. It's as powerful as the macbooks, which go for $1000. O_o

  • but it will break and bsod soon lol

  • It may, but gateway makes good computers. It's the gateway m-1631u. I just spent $1600 on a gaming laptop. The msi gt729. Quad core, mobility 4850, bluray. Except it hasn't been released yet. I can't wait for mid august...

  • wow macs relly suck!!

i play crysis on my pc with all high with 35-45 FPS with my pentium D @ 3,00GHz and a 9600 GSO OC

  • it's almost only your graohics card that matters

  • Macs do not suck, this is the base line with a real bad video card, the Mac pro can have a GTX 285 now lol, the new imacs also have a ATI 4850 which blows away the others that apple offered on the imacs, on a different subject, im amazed at the Frame rate from your pentium D, what resolution do you run crysis at? i get about 30ish fps with highish settings at 1680x1050 on my 24" high end imac with the ati hd 2600 pro

  • i play @ 1440 x 900

  • thats not a fucking imac and those are some pretty fucking low graphics settings

  • It is an iMac. But yeah, the graphic settings are low. I just got an amazing mod that let me get graphics almost as good as very high, but with no lag. Google "crysis ccc mod" it's amazing.

  • dude make a video of the ccc mod. I also have a tweak that lets me play on very high with smoothly and an auto cfg that i tweak to make it look better but no loss in fps

  • I will try that but will that damage my ati radeon hd 2400 XT??

  • you mean the ccc mod? that won't damage anything. It may mess up a few of the crysis game files, but it fixes them with its uninstaller.

  • LOL!! I have a full version of Crysis

  • So do I :)

  • What's the first song?

  • Katy Perry- Hot n Cold

  • Cool but how did you share vram? BECAUSE I HAVE A IMAC TOO with 4GB but 128mb VRAM... PLEASE HELP!!

  • I didn't try to get it to have shared vram... it just did it. I think that when I went to start>dxdiag it told me that I had a whole bunch of vram. Also, before I upgraded my mac's memory, I told me there was less vram.

  • and how much was that mac so u can play crysis on low

  • $1200 (computer)

$500 (office software, warranty, other stuff)

    =$1700

Damn to I regret it. $1700 could get me a computer that'll do very high!

  • I have the exact same Mac, but I could never run Crysis. I could GTA:IV though, but you NEED 2GB of RAM, so GTA:IV can use some of it as VRAM.

  • dude its glitching all over the place...

  • because hes playing with 1gb of ram he needs aleast 2!

  • I run crysis in low 800 x 480 with 1004mb RAM In 40 - 70 FPS!! ONLY LOW!! ONE medium you know what will happen..... = iMac blow up

  • i have an imac 2,4 ghz i can run cod 4 whitout lags and grand theft auto iv on low/medium settings but i also have the ps3.........

  • ya cod4 runs on my mac ok w/ low/medium. I haven't played GTA 4, but GRID runs great medium/high, and Halo1 does about 45fps at 1280x768 max. Also windows 7 runs games way better than vista.

  • u only need to change the setnings on the game for make it to run great on every pc

  • Comment removed

  • dude this runs like shit, Mac is not made for gaming

  • dude hes only using a gig of ram macs CAN GAME HE JUST NEEDS 2 GIGS OF RAM

  • hes not running this on a mac(the os) hes running it on windows in bootcamp. Mac isnt doin anything, and the hardware isn't mac hardware, its ati and intel

  • thats because mac can't run it well at all, i have seen first hand, btw do you know what hardware Macs use for video cards and such?

  • CPU: Intel

Video card: some are ATI, other Nvidia

    motherboard: Apple

    wireless card: Broadcom

    HDD: Intel

    DVD drive: Pioneer

All other hardware (bluetooth, IR, Speakers, webcam, etc): Apple

apple used to use a different line of processor, the PowerPC, which I think was with a partnership with Motorola.

  • I have a apple iMac 20'' motherboard too man!! OH! I hate it because can't change video card!!!

  • of course it can game, you can play duke nukem 3d at maximum settings!

  • i really need help updating my graphics card on bootcamp. In windows it says my card is a ATI radeon mobility 2400 xt hd. but it is just an ATI radeon 2400 xt hd. when i try to download the correct driver, it tells me that if can not find supporting hardware.

  • lol wow

    mac os + bootcamp + Vista + 1gb ram

    + crysis

  • lol your pc fails at this i payed 1000 dollors build a pc =D works at high with AA at 8X getting 30-40 fps but then again macs are overpriced for the specs i will give em there good at video editing

  • that looks playable...

  • whats the name of son

  • huh?

  • song

  • Hot n Cold by Katy Perry

  • thnx

  • mac fucked up

  • Didn't windows sue mac for boot camp or is that a rumor?

  • bootcamp only allows you to install a copy of windows that you buy just like EVERY OTHER FREAKING PC! No, they didn't sue!

  • most pcs come with the os installed .... JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER FREAKING MAC

  • yeah the company installs it, they dont steal it, in the end YOU PAY FOR IT ANYWAYS!

  • lool why are you geting mad? It kind of funny on how mac users get mad because they think windows sucks all around but when they want to play games there only hope is windows looool

  • I'm running vista right now

  • oh im too.

  • you need more ram and get windows xp, vista hogs memory

  • that is boot camp off a mac

  • lol the wheels of the vehicle of the begining look way good

  • So, do you think this would run smoothly on the new iMac (20" 2.4GHZ) but with 4Gb RAM installed? obviously low settings

  • it will. If you took the time tovrrad this video discription's novel discription, it has a link to another video I made of this same imac, but with 3Gb Ram. In dx9, all low with 800x480, it'll do 40fps, and maintain it. All medium, same rez, 15-25 fps. Ram quantity makes a HUGE difference.

  • Wow, thanks for responding so fast and infomation. im actually amazed how good it is at running games considering the amount of negativity it recieves as a gaming machine!

  • great video, but fail music

  • Cool

  • good video! but macs just dont cut it in price... BTW im happy cus i just got a gaming laptop has great specs

  • Congrats on your new laptop! enjoy ur gaming!

  • Hi, I'd just like to say, cool video, but I think my budget PC does better, no offense I mean Macs are more aimed towards Visual and Audio, but my PC has an ancient late 2006 model 8800GTS and 2GB of RAM with onboard audio with a standard AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core and I have settings on high with a native resolution of 1680x1050 and its very playable. I think if your looking at gaming your best bet is to build a PC. how are those 4870x2's!! :-) can't wait 2 get one.

  • I didn't get this mac for gaming... But now I'm building a PC with a 3870... a friend sold it to me for cheap.

  • kinda lame that apple charges over a 1000 bucks for such low specs

  • i know this mac was like $1700. for that I could have build a super computer with 2 4870 X2s!

  • lol yeah.

    I would like a Mac, but can't afford one.:P

I use a modded OS X Leopard build on a compatible PC. Pretty solid OS.

  • yeah, that's why its best (if you know what your doing) to build a computer yourself :-) I mean, I personally don't need a Mac because theres no applications on Mac that arn't on PC, aprt from Final Cut and Garage Band but I use Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas for Video as well as FL Studio and Adobe Audition for audio, and I couldn't give a damn about the looks.

  • Mac sucks......

  • But there are iMacs Alu with Radeon HD 2600 PRO, and I played crysis on it, and it was good! Now i have got iMac with Nvidia 8800 GS, and graphics are awesome...!

  • man oh man, lol, "The graphics are AWSOME" you don't get it, for a ridiculously cheap price $280 we can get ATI 4870s which basically shit all over any Series 8 nVidia card.

  • Yep... I know, but there aren't any ATI 4870 for Mac. Mac is not for gaming. PC is not for gaming. PC is for Blue Screen of Death. Console (PS3) is for gaming

  • go away man, i have a computer with 2 nvidia 9800 GTX and you say the PC aren t for gameing. All the games are better on PC if you have a good one.

  • And on another video you said that you have one Nvidia... And 6 Gigs of RAM. So what when your windows will work with only 3? Maybe with 64Bit, but still.. And I know, that this PC was more expensive than PS3 or other console. BTW imagine gaming on bootcamp on MacPro like this one

    - 8 core 3,0 GHz

    - 32 GB RAM

    - 3 Nvidia 8800 GTS 512

    Lick my ass :)

  • dude i have NEVER bluescreened the 99/100 the reason you bluescreen is shitty driver makers ati makes bad drivers for Windows based computers thats why i stick with nvidia they make great drivers

  • do u think u could help me get catalyst 9.2 running? I haven't had much trouble with driver upgrades in the past, but 9.2 just won't install. pm me if u think u can help...

  • dont even know what program that is or driver lol

  • ati is to catalyst as Nvidia is to Forceware. (I think). 9.2 is ATI's latest driver release

  • you could try uninstalling the driver and then reinstalling? ati is kinda bad at windows drivers alot of ppl i know say that

  • I've already tried that... Updating ATI drivers are hell!

  • hmm thats kinda bad get ccleaner just google it run a regestry clean after you uninstall them cuase the monitor still works and then reinstall it could be leaving regestry entrys behind and causing issues dam ATI make alright cards but shit drivers lol nvidia just double click installer follow instructions done in 3 min

  • I got ati radeon hd 2400 xt and it works great i its plays hl2,hl2Mods,counter-strike Source , left 4 dead realy all valve games and battlefield 2 , F.E.A.R. , FlatOut2 , Track Mania And all thme games with set to high

  • i have a 2400XT in my PC, and its absolutly aweful for anything. Even at low settings on any new game it laggs like a bitch. :-(

  • I play Portal, by the same people that made half-life 2; it's much less graphic. laggier than a bitch.

And I somehow have Quake 2, and 1280x960 with driver setting on max (4x AA, 16x whatever, and all that good stuff), according to fraps, it averages 60 fps. lol

  • lol no shadow!

  • good music choice... ;P

  • but what song is it

  • hot n' cold (or hot and cold) by Katy Perry

  • thanks

  • I play crysis on max settings and DX10 :-D

  • problably a gtx 280 or something like that but not everybody has the money

  • or a supercomputer. 16 PedaHertz or something like that. lol

  • on the most expensive iMac you can run this game on very high but you have to play on a low resolution

  • just use tweaks

  • you got a mac says it all for gaming :)

  • hawe you msn? can i add you please.. i cant talk on youtube haha

  • Srry I only have gmail.

  • dude, I have an HD 2600 pro on my iMac and i can't run this...whaddya do?

  • it's gotta be other parts in your system, or a software issue. the 2600 should run it on high better than this.

  • nice song...

luv katy perry... hot sexy body drive me crazy/...

  • Ohh. Software. I think that may be the issue. I installed the game before i had found out that you had to insert the OS X installation CD to make the complete effect on the system. I came up with an error message saying "video card unsupported". I haven't bothered to re-install Crysis after I had inserted the OSX driver software. Lol wow I'm stupid. I still got the game though. I think I'll install it right now. lol

  • back in the day before I loaded vista on the mac I tried to run crysis in Crossover (a program for running windows programs on a mac) and it gave me that same error. I didn't really expect it to run, though. But in vista it loads up and runs fine. But be sure to have all other software fully installed before trying to run the game...

  • yeah ive used Crossover before - didn't work too well. But I just finished playing the Crysis demo on XP. I can play it fine on low, but it lags like crazy on high and has frame issues on medium. But I got FarCry 2 so its all good. :)

  • it can run on 1024x600 with high settings (fps 20) but if you put object quality low you get a fps boost

  • noo my Ram is fast. 8.0 score on vista test.

  • Then it's probably a software issue. My computer scores a 4.5 (graphics lowest) on the vista test.

  • i have laptop with

    Same graphic card like you

    Processor : Amd turion x2 1.9 Ghz.

    2 GB ram !

why my crysis run so fucking bad? =( please saay !

  • I don't know why ur laptop runs it so badly... Maybe you have slower ram than mine. But if u really want to play crysis, don't try it on that laptop.

  • lol

i own the whole crysis game

and exactly the same thing happens you look at the floor there is no lag when you start looking around it lags like hell!!!!

if you decrease screen res to 800x600 and make sure everything is on low (cause I had found shaders was on low not minimum ):(

and so there is a solution except there was still some lag anyway but not as much

  • I have an iMac and I played Crysis on high but...

    using XP

when I got vista I have to decrease screen resolution and game resulotion to 800x600

and everything on low so if you have vista then it might be a problom

and I do not own the aluminium iMac I own the one before the aluminium iMac :)

  • lol look at the car when the 2nd song starts

    lowrida

freaking awsome i run crysis on a macbook pro

shadows full and and physics full and shaders medium and the rest medium and no anti aliasing it only lags when i look at intense smoke or a flare and a sharp light

    nvidia geforce 8600gt m

    1440+900 res

    2 gig ram

  • i have a imac 2.66 withhd 2600 pro but it runs it only on medium

  • lag

  • I would expect this kind of frame rate under Vista with 1GB of ram. Running the game under XP with 2gb of ram instead of 1gb might make it run a lot smoother.

I myself wouldn't even bother running Vista with 1gb of ram. Never tried it before though.

  • that would drive me nuts if the frame rate was that bad.

  • wat is the song on the video called?

  • all the credits are at the end, but the 1st song is "hot n cold" by katy perry, the second "shut up and let me go" by the ting tings, and the third is "hamster dance"

  • My Mobility Radeon HD 2400 runs it far better than this, it runs on medium without any lag.

Btw, HD 2400 is meant for gaming, just not demanding games like Crysis. Call of Duty 4, Rainbow Six Vegas runs on high withou any problem.

  • what are ur specs? I just wanna know...

If they're similar to mine, then :S

I would like to get this system running it well.

  • I have a lower end imac than yours... 2.0ghz dual core with 128mb radeon mobility hd 2400, and 2 gig ram.... on vista. COD4 does NOT work on the highest settings, but medium works perfect and at full resolution. I cant believe you bothered with crysis, but kudos, it worked! I am trying to determine whether or not to get assasins creed and try it out. let me know what you think!!
