@steveharrismetalgod Hank sherman was not the lead on this one; I believe it was Brian Peterson, he left MF before they recorded In The Beginning. I think Hank Sherman is an axe GOD, but it would have been interesting to hear how MF would have evolved with Peterson. I saw MF in 82 in Cleveland in a 500 seat movie theater with Exciter, and Motorhead.... talk about goosebumps!!!!

I am an atheist and I understand the appeal of Satan as an adversary figure, one of rebellion. One does not have to worship Lucifer to appreciate the freedom he represents in the Western world. This song has NOTHING to do with the KKK. It's a anti-christian song. The act of burning the cross in this song represents the action taken by each group before they ride into the night and murder christian priests. The KKK are christians, the reason they burn crosses is from the fraudulent writings of Thomas Dixon who claimed the old KKK burned crosses before battle, it got passed on and became a false truth. Klan members believe burning a cross is symbolic of showing their faith in god.

I have all of the Fate demo tapes now, got them from an old school Metalhead from NYC who had a record shop in the Twin Cities that shutdown in the mid-90s. Most people who do discographies on Fate don't even have all the demos listed. I first heard this song when my friends older brother popped in a cassette tape of some live European radio show he recorded and it had the very first public performance of this song , fell in love with it immediately. Best Fate song Ever!
