  • @thisisacunt It's really more just for professional painting and such, if you want to just paint for fun you really don't have to... at least I don't. But if you are doing it to sell it or something of that sort yeah you should probably gesso it.

  • Hi Dawn,

    Have you tried mixing 'whiting' (French chalk) with the Gesso? Also a tint of colour, to get rid of the white.

    The whiting helps the oils to dry much quicker, and it's ideal for Alla prima or En Plein Air.
