lol, you're actually told not to eat anything 12 hours before your operation, I think you can't drink 4 years before it. This will prevent you from peeing or defecating during your operation, it will also prevent you from vomiting and possibly chocking yourself.

A few days before the surgery, I was very scared. But somehow I became very calm on the surgery day. The nurses and the anesthesiologists were very caring and giving me such peace by their care. As a result, I wasn't scared at all and I still have no idea when I fell asleep. Many thanks to Dr. Benjamin Gruber, the nurses, and the anesthesiologists at Mercy Hospital of Chicago. Now I really like the sleeping state. It was wonderful. Thank God for these angels who took very good care of me.

I will be having it in a few days. I will have a rhinoplasty and my doc chose general anesthesia. No matter what they say, this is a risk and I can't believe I am risking the rest of my life for a better looking nose.

i have had general 3 times at hospital,3 times at dentist,always done by iv as i fear having a mask put over my face.u get this weird taste in ur mouth literally seconds b4 u go to sleep.i always seem to swear going under and coming round!

You can actually remember some stuff because you wake up for a few seconds then go back and they are weird dreams too . I was given the IV and there was no pain although if you have a broken arm , there is a weird sensation . Ugh it's so weird I can't even explain .

@MrHenners12 As I know,there are more different anesthetic agents with different functions. The most common IV agent is Propofol. (But fentanyl,morphin,thyopenthal,e­tc. can also be used) Gases are evaporated liquid anesthetic agents such as halothane, enflurane, isoflurane, desflurane, and sevoflurane,mixed with oxygene and N2O as a carrier.

now i know why i was make sleep faster before my surgeon proceeds my kidney removal to donor it to my father ^^ i thought its just an oxygen ut i didnt notice that it was already a general anesthesia but i noticed that doctors ijnect me to temporarily disables my SALIVA production in my mouth

not all time listen to what doctor recommends local is used if for a small part like hand leg... spinal anesthectic for below stomach general anesthetic is very risky but relaxing...
