A gymnastic is any series of consecutive jump set at any stride. You can do a bounce, to a one, to a two stride, as long as their one after the other. A 7 stride line is definatly not a gymnastic, nor is a rollback, just to show an example.
it kind of isn't a gymnastic line, and kind of is. Because it's 3 fences one after another, it is. but typically a gymnastic is progressive: bounce to one stride to two stride, or something like that, and each following jump is bigger than the first. they're used to train the horse and rider over bigger jumps without them having to think about getting the correct distance, because the distance is set already.
lol i didnt se that coming lol... at first i thought he was bucking but i figured out that he was jumping lol...umm im not very smart lol...nice jumping
vistabaun16-- If you do a full two-point when you do a series of bounces, you'll end up in the atmosphere. She's not just sitting there, either, she's moving her hips back with each period of suspension...any educated horseperson could see that.
what are u talking about? she is clearly out of the saddle over each jump. they're not 5' fences, you dont need to be nearly lying on the horse's neck for those.
i love your instructor!

Beautifully ridden! Well done, and lovely horse too :) xx

actually, a gymnastic line and a grid are basically the same thing
I jumped one today with 3 fences, 1 stride between each. The striding doesn't really matter, its just continuous line fences.

why is there a bunch of jumps going the opposite way? like, whats the purpose of them?
CSxrose 3 years ago
to keep the horse straight and not run out of the jump.
happybunnyluvr 3 years ago
@CSxrose to keep the horse from veering outwards (refusing a jump).

thats not a gymnastic line, its called a bounce, a gymnastic line, i'm pretty sure, has to have at least one stride in between each jump
