Very good attempt. Many of these philosophers make their systems of philosophy look more complicated than they actually are. This is especially true of the German philosophers like Kant and Hegel. Well what does Kantian ethics boil down to is this: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". This ethic is retold in so many words.
I don't know how people are getting (What will happen if everyone did it) from [Act only on that maxim by which you can at the same time will it that it should become a universal law of nature].
Yeah fuck him. He's just some loser who doesn't conform to atheist rhetoric dominant in modern philosophy! My brain is becoming more open minded studying this shite IT HURTS"!
there is no such thing as good and evilbut only life/death production/destruction thats the true paradigm. what ever we produce is an extention of like its self.creativity. production and inovation is the ultimate good death and destruction is the negative. the concept of good and evil is a subjective opinion. and always remember. never initiate force on any 1 or thier property cause that is destruction to your neigbor and your self
No matter how hard you try, Kant is almost nearly impossible to reduce to a two-minute summary. This reduces Kant's argument to the "golden rule": treat others as you would want to be treated. It says nothing of the role of pure practical reason as an a priori cause, which is perhaps the most important element Kant is forced to develop in his moral philosophy.

@sonny19xx To make it short: That is absolutely not what Kantian ethics boils down to.

ah.. so he said it in the, The Metaphysical Elements of Ethics....

Cool vid. :) Seems to hit it pretty well.
Pretty sure only somebody who had studied it an over "2min" form would be able to understand the force of the theory though.

I must say, a very daring attempt to summarize his deontology in only 2 minutes! Certainly a first- most likley best for newcomers to philosophy.

these are just his ethics too.. imagine if u had to explain his metaphysics lol
cautionblue22 3 years ago
@freemediavideos : jeez...it took me longer than 2 min to read your post!!
If you can't grasp the ideas of "2 min introductions" then you shoud probably stay away from the Kant books....I see your point, but jeez!
JCMcGee 1 year ago
@freemediavideos why? and it's not the golden rule...golden rule= aristoteles, categorical imperative=Kant...
Great video...

Cool summary. Kant was too much in his head and not enough in his guts and groin, but his heart was in the right place.

Pointless. This is a week summary, even for 2 minutes, of groundwork!

kantians should reject socialism, read his political philosophy. You can't universalize theft.

Yeah Nietzsche is interesting. Just don't go making the Fallacy of Composition just because he has a couple good points.
