  • I am interested in OWL but I will be watching the induction closely. This is such a good idea induction is where so many people trip up.

  • If there is enough interest perhaps an a one week OWL boot camp might be in the works too. That was one thing I always wanted to do Atkinsdietbulletinboard, but could never work out the logistics of it.

  • The first ever Youtube Atkins Diet boot camp is going to start on Monday. I have sent the documents out to those I have e-mail addresses, and sent notices out for the other recruits. It is likely we will have 2 squads (teams) of recruits for this go around.

    I have some great recruits to work with given the videos that have already been posted.

  • Bowulf, you finally gave me incentive to not only buy my own internet connection *cough* but I'm buying a flip this week end. I got a slow cooker and a freezer full of meat and veggies! Bring it on ;)

  • I see you got yours uploaded. Great, I am glad you got it uploaded, and it should be a great camp.

  • Watch my other videos. The Atkins Diet does not cause heart attacks. What is the mechanism for the heart attack? It certainly can't be inflammation or cholesterol or even triglyceride related as it has been proven OVER and OVER in multiples studies that Atkins Diet actually drops them.

  • Congrats on your progress so far, and I'd love to have you join us. I spent the weekend revising the Boot Camp syllabus and adding to it especially the week 3 content. It should be a great camp.

    Do you have a digital camera and / or webcam? That and your commitment to the Boot Camp are the only prerequisites. I am estimating starting at the end of March.

  • Dear Ken, I have a Flip video that produces AVI format videos..Does anyone know if this would work? BTW.. took some of your fabulous low carb cheesecake to a potluck this weekend and didnt tell a soul that it was low carb.. All I had to take home was the pie plate!..Love your recipes!!!!!

  • no i also eat about 1 plate of salad as well im not hungry after eating 7-8 thighs but you do think i am eating to much ? what does sodium have affect on my diet ? also my curent weight is 260 and by the end of august (6 months) i hope to be 165 i am 18 years old do you think its possible? i lose about 100 calories a day thats it. however i wanted to ask you most importantly do you think eating 7-8 chicken thighs will affect my weight loss and am i folowing the diet? And am i exercsing enough?

  • I've been having a hard time with cravings and bumped myself back a few rungs but re-induction sounds like a great idea especially since adbb didn't have a bootcamp when I first joined. Great idea.

  • I'd love to have you. Re-Induction is a good way to prune a lot of bad habits out of your life. They creep in so insidiously that sometimes you need to revert back to the base to develop good habits again. Plus I like it when long-timers get involved they can help provide insight and makes it rewarding when they learn something new about themselves or the diet.

    Make sure you get your application, it should be a great time for everyone involved.

  • Hey bowuld i have a question please. i started atkins 6 days ago and i usually eat 2 hotdogs, 2 eggs, 2 cheesestrings, 1 splenda jello cup, diet coke, and about 7-8 Pieces of seasoned chicken thighs. Somehow i dont think im losing weight and am i eating to much chicken ? do you think 7-8 pieces of chicken thighs are too much ?i am worried because i think im eating to much and i feel fat and i dont think im loosing weight. what do you think am i eating the right way? i am on the induction fase

  • Depending on the hot dogs and the seasoning for the chicken, you may be getting too much sodium in your diet. I also notice a lack of vegetables in your list. I definitely think you should be eating at least 2 cups of veggies each day. 7-8 thighs does seem like a lot, but there are days I am hungry enough to eat a whole chicken.

    Are you still hungry after eating 5 or 6 thighs? Or are you eating them because they are prepared? Are these breaded, have the skin on them? I hope this helps.

  • Sorry you can't join us here, but if you want to do a text-based boot camp, ADBB is likely going to be doing one shortly. You'll need to be posting member there (10 posts is what I think it takes), but I have been a DS there. It is a different dynamic, but it is a great experience.

  • One thing I failed to clarify in the video is that the videos as part of Boot Camp can be private and shared only with team members, so you don't necessarily have to share your weight loss and boot camp experience with all of Youtube. Just your brothers and sisters (5-10) on your team.

  • How would this work (private videos)? Mom and I might be interested. She likes Atkins and wants to get back on it... I had success on it but I love my fruit...lol

  • You have the option when you upload the videos to make them public or private. If they are private, you can select the group of people you want to share the videos . In this scenario, you would select your team mates and me. You can share a private video with up to 25 friends. It's under the Privacy options:

    Share your video with the world (Recommended)

    Private (Viewable by up to 25 people)

    There is nothing wrong with fruit on the Atkins diet. It just needs its place and time. :-)
