  • oh my first lesson they didn't say all those names of those moves with your hands/arms..

  • this guy is funny he thinks he knows about wing chun

  • very nice presentation. i like it. Thanks to you guys.

  • he looks like klitschko

  • he is batter master wong

  • I LOVE THEIR UNIFORMS !!!!

  • People need to keep in mind that some Martial Arts are more sport related, combat/ street fighting in nature or just use for improving one's health. In this case you are looking at a combat/ street fighting system. Like what the person wrote before me, eye shots, neck shots/ throat, are just a few techniques involving attacking the center which wouldn't be sporting in MMA.

  • you re fucking wrong ! idk where did you leaned wing tsun but this isnt the real originaly one !

  • @45Marki45 you should watch the ip man movies ;) they're all so legendary !

  • hahaha...da other guy is gettin really pissed

  • this guy is "ok" . the best youtube wingchun practitioner, IMO, is Chinaboxer. check him out.

  • you know why wing chun is not aloud in mma ...because you would probarly killed the guy im not saying becuase i like wing chun but the whole point of wing chun is to attack the weak points like the temple or the neck its too deadly lol anyway when people say try this against a mma fighter um yeah try it on the street with no gloves yeah ....and then see who wins it will be over in seconds beuse that how wing chun works

  • Try this against an mma fighter or kickboxer.

  • This guys an amazing teacher, I guess it's burbank california here i come:)

  • IF any one thinks MASTER WONG is wingchun....then my friends non of you know wing chun. This sifu is very informed, with great explanations of the techniques. Is fingers would get broken vs my sifu but other then that hes fine

  • yea, master wong pwns this guy

  • If i grab the throat as i block his move then sweep his legs forward wud i be able to elbow his head?

  • I don't really understand why all of these martial artists has to have like foreign names to everything, it takes alot longer to learn. :(

  • this sifu is prob the coolest teacher in youtube, i like him , thanks for the great work

  • @WingTsunPanda You are an extremely disrespectful and sorry "teacher" if you really are one, (which I highly doubt because I don't know any good sifu who spends his time on you-tube bashing other teachers on techniques of the same style they teach.) I'd hate you have someone like you teach me, or anyone for that matter, with that sort of ignorant and bigoted mentality. We're taught to be respectful, it's a part of Kung Fu. You have none, I suggest you learn to have it.

  • You are chasing hands, why are you choosing to do this

  • Students towards a Sifu shows great disrespect..thats not what Kung Fu is about..so in these comments we can see who are really martial artist and who are not

  • Everyones wing chun is different and every martial artist knows that Kung Fu is not just about fighting..but about balance and respect..and to see negativity from supposed wing chun

  • Please be curtious of other peoples passionate attempts. Some of us are so appriciative of this we can't even say. And please don't be disrespectful and cuss disrespectfully about other nice people trying to live the same life we all are.

  • You guys are fucking retarded. You wanna see badass wing chun go see Ip Man. If you wanna learn how to defend yourself, go learn and practice the techniques.

  • this is facking bullshit. this is no wingchun

  • i watch his clips and i love it please show more respect if you dont like it just move on

  • i watch his clips and i love it please show more respect

  • this guy is a joke, two hands on one , and using bong as a "block"?! hahahaha

  • 33 guys got owned by this guy!

  • This guy is very good! He gave his time to explain the techniques... I respect him..

  • wing tsun, kung fu or aikido should only be trained by asian trainers, we westerners should stick to boxing, kickboxing and freefighting, i cant take white guys serious who try to look like grandmasters.. its hillarious..

  • The only problems I have with this video is the their uniforms being cheesy and flashy.... that and the terminology is wrong, however the lessons themselves are good- at time impractical- but lacking the BASICS. I love Jins teaching style, AKA- chinaboxer, because he really breaks it down and puts it out there not really as JUST a fighting style, and nor does he glorify it. However, I'm pretty sure others may disagree with me, but I've learned a lot from his Utube channel, more than here anyhow

  • ahahahah, at 2:09 he traps himself with his own lap sao, putting 2 arms on the opponent one :D this "sifu" doesn't really know what he's doing :D

  • @metalmechanix That was just a slow version, you can see that at normal speed he punches him when he traps with the other arm.

  • Im glad im just a learner I dont need to impress anyone,I dont know if I could take the pressure of being compared to others. I just want to say Thanks to all of you who have the willingness to share your knowledge while being held to such scutiny from all the experts on here. TY for your little ideas and big efforts.

  • what's with the sleeveless pijamas ?

  • can people just shut up about saying this is not wing chun because it is. I bet those who are saying its not wing chun cant do a better demonstration than this. If people like it then they like it. If you don't oh well because this is good knowledge for other people to learn.

  • @Snipe617 mate if anyones sayin it's not wing chun then obviously they've never seen it before...ive been a wing chun practitioner now for about 8 years and i dont see anything thats NOT wing chun ...

  • @MrEllenjet thanks I agree with your opinion. Have you ever use wing chun in a real fight

  • @Snipe617 i have used it a number of times to defend myself and to escort trouble makers from clubs...i worked security in a couple of clubs in Brisbane tho fighting is not something i partake in and i think looking at wing chun only as a fighting style is pretty shallow, there is so much more to it and ive never practised wing chun for the sake of being able to fight.. on the occasions that ive had to use it i have found effective using chi sao and attacking the balance point of the opponent

  • @Snipe617 and i must apologise as that post was actually aimed at the ppl talking this particular wing tsun teacher down and not just you...i musta hit the reply button on your post sorry mate

  • Haha. He extended his elbow away from his center on almost all of these punches. His attacks have the followthrough of his body weight but it is not supported as one solid structure because of his elbow position, meaning that anyone with more body weight or inward force is going to crush this silly fool into the ground in a situation such as this. Guess he should be glad he's got more weight than his target, and that it sn't hitting back ;P

  • i bet they cant beat chuck norris

  • Good wing chun demo.

  • not really sure if i could defend against a 200-pound-kickboxer with this, nit it looks really interesting

  • lol so shit, its not wing tsun

  • why have this 2 guys so nice clothes? we have just ugly white shirts ^^

  • @thecrimsonking187 same kind of wc garments Bruce Lee wore as well :)

  • i like this tutorial

  • I wondered, what if a guy grabs you're arm when you punch him? I've heard that in Kung Fu you also attack, mostly by punching. In many martial arts, like Aikido, they know how to defeat you when you attack. Someone please?

  • @FearThisChannel if we were to grab your punching hand just immediately hit with your pinning hand. Even though your releasing the pin your punch will still prevent him from quickly raising the hand,

  • @FearThisChannel just a personal thing ive noticed, many of the Japanese style Martial arts involve more direct strikes and blocks, whereas chinese martial arts tend to be very fluid and indirect. In my honest Opinion Depending on the form of Kung Fu used Aikido wouldnt be very effective, for instance the Crane Style of Kung Fu focuses on balance and avoidance of strikes therefore Aikido, which is the art of forcing your opponent off Balance would be ineffective

  • @FearThisChannel

In WC, this is where Chi Sau (sticky hands) training comes into play

  • @FearThisChannel Speed is the key...or drop your wrist (wing arm block) and move forward with elbow???

  • master wong is alot better

  • @colby7538 Wong does not know anything about wing chun and i see that you either

  • why do people always dog on other styles or different schools?....everyone seems to think that the style they do is the best there is and their teacher is the best out there.... it's no different to actually being at school trying to learn a given subject... people are different...

  • we eat , sleep , walk and talk differently....some ppl drop out of school early....does this make them stupid? or is it simply that they were not learning the right way from the right teacher? regardless of the lifestyle, martial style , school, kwoon or dojo we should be taught respect for each others "way" and anyone who is not learning this principal....then are they really in the right place learning from the right person?

  • @colby7538 WONG MY ASS BEEYOTCH

  • @colby7538 No, "Master" Wong is someone who knows only basics, Todd is a master!

  • @colby7538 not in grammar :)))

  • @colby7538 No one is better.. instead of watching just Master wong you can also learn alot from other Sifu's like Todd here

  • @colby7538 "a lot", not "alot"

  • Sifu, by looking at ur moves, it seems 2me dat ur techniques have been somehow affected by other systems namely Choi Li Fut, Tai Chi, etc. which u've been through trainings as well. BUt anyway, still nice, so far so good. Thanks for posting the clips. Heaps of appriciations! ;)

  • DAMN THAT TEXT!!!

  • @Svengaboy

I was trying to figure out what you were talking about. then i realized you were talking about the closed captioning.

try pressing the "cc" button next to the resolution button at the bottom of the video frame

  • Once hand an instructor Henery Cook that did a variation of Wing Tsun (Seven Winds flying fist system was what he called it) He used Akido locks with the trapping. Never got it to work for me but he was good at it

  • Is his hair real? I think I saw Tom Hanks wearing that toupee in Sleepless in Seattle. I think blonde would look better.

I would like to stroke his silky chest.

  • very nice demo, i was thinking there should be a get together by all these teachers at some place where they share their knowledge and difference with each other and we all youtube fans would love to see a video like that, An All Star Jam..

  • WING TSUN is the best martial art ever, good for girls too, I bet everyone to fight with me and be sure I will hurt if I want, I am a Wing Tsun girl student and I had my good results... so do not talk if you don't know that Wing Tsun is...

  • @jamira66 Legend has it that Wing Chun was developed by a FEMALE, after seeing a crane fight a snake, so why wouldn't it be good for girls? Why don't you know this? You are stating the obvious. I will talk as much as i want, even if i didn't know Wing Tsun. YES IT IS ONE OF THE BEST... But Aikido is good too if used properly. kEEP TRAINING!!!

  • @moo3992 lol im a wing tsun instructor, but i just went to my first aikido class and it was bomb ass! LOVED IT! I'm definately gonna start training there regularly.

  • chasing hand

  • is this typical wing chun?..are there different style of wing chun?..or are they pretty much the same?..how do you defend against uppercuts or hooks?..or leg kicks etc?

  • @porpoisefathom For defence against hooks, we use tan sau, or lop da, look them up on youtube, as for uppercuts, I like to step out then rush back in attacking the centre line, not sure which hands chase the upper cuts though.

As for kicking, round houses and straight flick kicks can be avoided with stepping out, then going back in.

  • I love it! He explain all the technique realy clear! Great job master or sifu...

  • I LOVE Wing Chun! I'm not taking actual classes yet, I do Taekwondo, but, my Instructor knows Wing Chun and he heard about a couple accidents concerning Aikido, that he said he wants me learning Wing Chun, and so he's teaching me the basics.

  • I like these videos!! They are smooth and easy to see the dynamics. Thanks!

  • power ranger uniforms

  • Please remove your videos as they are an embarrassment to our community.

Your outfits sure are pretty though! So fresh n so clean (clean)

  • Thank you!

  • LOL. Don't use bong sau to deflect punches. Bong sau is only for changing one technique to another.

  • oh come on wing chun is cantonese sounds like weng chun, yong chun is the mandarin pronunciation. i am a wing chun disciple too learning from a hong kong master

  • this is ridiculous, don't even know if it's TS or CH :DDDDD lame

  • These videos are great! TY for posting, I love WC!

  • how long does it takes until you finish learning all the Wing Chun levels like upto black satchet.??

  • @bigfatdick5000

    maybe about 60 years

  • woooooooooooooooooooooooo saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaoooooooooo!

  • this isn't traditional wing chun.

  • This guy is pretty quick..

  • what crap.... this guy KNOWS what is going to happen next because he is telling the guy what to attack like. So he knows what to do to counter attack. You clearly see him near the end of the video moving before the subject moves. Those who anticipate moves get face fucked fast....

  • mike myers! :O holy effin crap! 1:27 to 1:31

  • you cant just learn a martial arts from a video.. becuase you need that sifu/teacher to correct you on any mistakes or technique your doing wrong. Videos are good for reminder on things but anyone who thinks they can figt after studying youtube for a month is just another Form of a computer nerd.

  • You make it so easy O_O

  • 2:06, if someone (by some weird reason) attempts to hit your breast and you have the time, to block, grab (with both hands), step in & counter.... Then you are fighting schoolchildren. Advice to all you who wants to learn to defend yourselves, or learn functional martial arts, learn boxing, muay thai, ju-jitsu, judo or even polejumping before paying any attention to potheads like this.

  • @pellahar

no its actually very functional and teaches you alot of reaction time and speed that being said you CAN actually catch a punch and inflict whatever damage you can on your opponent. it took me a month or two but its possible :)

  • @pellahar boxing? what a joke...it all depends on the person, maybe you're slow that's why...

  • Parts from the little Idea form ,Right ?

  • super man.

  • How do you remove the words to see the video???

  • i just think its a shame they use "wing tsun" in the title when its clearly some bastardized version of wing chun...he is not a member of the iwto nor does he teach correct wt techniques

  • Comment removed

  • Most people fail to realize that a style evolves and changes form person to person. While one person may not be able to use a style in a fight another may be able. The movements also varies form person to person. When you adapt a style you learn the foundation but eventually it you make it your own.

  • As a pure wing chun devotee I think this Sifus' positions are all wrong.

  • agreed...

  • You have to understand that wing chuns effectiveness lies in the power generated through the wrist. In most of these modern mma fights the wrists are taped and they wear gloves. I believe this takes away from the movements and how they were designed to work. WC can be all you need in the street because if you close the gap and apply the strikes your opponent wont be able to shoot or throw you and get you to the ground while your wrecking his throught with chain punches.

  • nice video good expanations...whatever style you bring I think all old style martial artist take one on one challenge matches where they teach, if you walk off the street and into their school and challenge them.....

  • I agree. I love this guys explanations. He does a wonderful job. I wish I could meet him.

  • I'd like to see this ''sifu'' try and use ''fuk sau'' or ''tan sao'' against Fedor Emelianenko & Anderson Silva.

  • or against an amateur mma fighter with 6 months training.

  • whilst I know much of what people use would never work in the cage, these techniques are not much different than even the boxing parry! all effective techniques are enhanced by the ability to predict an opponent's reaction. Fedor's or Silva's techniques would not work either if they did not know how to "read" their opponent. there are people who once said "I'd like to see Fedor or Silva do that kimura on me!"

  • ..Yeah and those are the same people who got arm-barred.

I'm not against the discipline WIng Chun instills in a person, but in real combat situations it's effectiveness is minimal.

  • I personally have blocked and punched the crap out of people using the inverted fist! I have done it in the street and in the cage. the block I used was much like the tan sau used here. don't get me wrong, but the idea that ju-jistsu and anyother style is the "greatest" is refuted every time someone gets knocked out using that syle. Sambo is good, but Fedor is more than his style as is any good fighter! news flash Damien Maia got knocked the F out in one round with a punch.

  • also, I am a shotokan and K A system fighter in my base, but I do think much of muay thai in some ways, not all. in addition to that I prefer wrestling w/ submissions over taking 10 years of ju-jistsu just to function. what I use ju-jitsu for is the guard work. I USE WHAT WORKS! you should also.

  • ..I use ''what works'' and Wing Chun & Karate aren't some of them.

  • the reason karate and wing chun may not work for you is because perhaps you have never studied them in anyway that would lead to perfection! in 1979 errol bennet, a shotokan fighter fought in a full-contact bareknuckle tournament and won the middleweight title. he fought the whole fight from his shotokan stance and won the title with a perfect roundhouse kick to the head. A kick that no doubt would have also knocked you out. you obviously don't know much bout the fighting arts if you don't know

  • con't that people who practice karate, muay-thai, ju-jitsu, wrestling,kung-fu,sambo, whatever, get knocked out! your logic is faulty since that is a fact. most MMA fighters box; BJ Penn is one of the better boxers. boxing is a very valuable art but BJ brings something to the art that makes him better. I know for a fact that whatever you "use" has also had practitioners who got KOd. so your idea that "it works" is dependent on the fighter.

  • @Dungarth..... shut up

  • Yea, find a good instructor to train with but if none are available you might just break done and buy a video from century, BB magazine or paladin they have some good wing chung videos. What i do is them from goldstarvideo that saves me a bunch of money and selection is great.

  • I would like to learn more about wing chung any suggestions?

  • he has been criticised by some people but I would say a good place to satrt is master wong's dvds starting with sui lim tao. some people say he does not practice "pure" wing chun like "pure" matters in the street. from what I can tell he does not "move away" from the base in any way that should matter to those who are interested in an art being effective. the way he goes through the techniques will allow you to cut down the time needed to be effective. powerful, simple and fast.

  • @BusterBoy5555 take classes

  • thank you for this video.very effective and simple application similar to jet kune do..

  • @Fupper16 lol......

  • @Fupper16 When you have learned the principles and techniques, then you are able to combine them into an effective fighting system. Learning the saos is TRAINING your body to know what to do. This sifu is not stupid.

  • @Fupper16 - simply said, that guy can take you down and beat you up in less than 30 seconds.

  • right, cause you know my level of martial arts dedication and my skill level ... ok think that

  • Comment removed

  • @Fupper16 - you don't know the guy in the vid's dedication and skill levels either.

  • Those basic blocks are pretty helpful for self defense in some streetfights :P

  • Thank you very much

  • Nice uniforms.

  • very interesting ,the invite to visit my canal, is things very seemed and good-quality, greetings

  • wow i respect so much for ip man and i'd like to learn basic technics frong wing chun.. this is nice. tnx for sharing.. anywayz.. is there any wing chun club here in dubai?

  • it is grandmaster yip. never say just his name in front of a sifu, it is disrespectful. good luck

  • This is a good Teacher.

  • wing chun is so much better....

  • @CURIOUSGIAO Wing Chun, Wing Tsun, Ving Tzun, Yong Chun, Bum Chum...

...however you spell it - it's all the same.

  • @mofotax Yong chun is the proper way where chinese people says it.

it changed to wing chun when yong chun when to the american

  • @BULLIER8 That is interesting.

I thought the Hong Kong branches called it Wing Chun before it ever reached the USA?

  • @mofotax well its still the same meaning but we chinese call it " Yong Chun"

  • @BULLIER8 well we speakers of Cantonese and Mandarin know that Wing Chun is Cantonese and Yong Chun is Mandarin..

  • @intirayami yes.

  • @mofotax no wing chun are totaly different from wing tsun/tjun/txun etc... wing tsun loose 70% of wing chun such footwork, strategy, principles, angles...

  • @robyhh I guess Leung Ting did not learn it all, eh?

    What lineage are you?

  • @mofotax Correct...LT was disciple of Chong Pei, diciple of Sheun Leung... in the 60' YM thounght only what learnt under Cha Wah Soon, not what learnet under leung Bik and Chu Chung Man... LTlearnt only half system...

  • @mofotax

yup doesn't matter what the name is but the teachings are different between schools

  • woman fighting

  • wing tsun is crab all the angels are totaly wrong

everybody who makets wing chung longer than a year can beat this

  • This is all very interesting, but my problem is this. It is VERY difficult to do a lot of complex, intricate movements when you are under stress--like when someone is attacking you. I think that is when you see MA in action, they all tend to look alike, at least within the broad striking vs. wrestling divide.

  • That's why wing chun is so firmly grounded in sensitivity training. Eventually, all these moves become second nature, and you have an instinctive map of all the available lines.

  • @Uxoriouswidow very well-said.

  • What's this man's lineage? It's certainly not Yip Man's

  • lap sou means rubbish in hokkien not cantonese . ^^

  • i think lap sou means rubish in cantonese lol

  • Actually lap sap in cantonese is trash lol

  • Hell lot of "sao"-s in the vid :P

I like mostly all chinese martial arts but why I like Master Wongs system above most other martial art systems is because of the simplicity of it :) Not many "sao"-s there, just showing how without the complexity of terms.

But I liked this vid aswell, and most of what you have to offer. Good to combine other things with :)

  • @nabapoisu Master Wong may not use those terms in his videos, but I'm sure he uses them in his classes. It would be very hard to do drills without some type of abbreviation. At any time, a Wing Chun teacher may say "Bong, Tan Da, Lop Da". Or he could say "wing arm, palm up block and punch, grabbing hand and punch". Which way do you think is better? There are only 18 hands of Wing Chun with a few minor variations. Surely, it's not too much to ask the students to memorize that.

  • @hulkout666 Wong Sifu does use Terms like Bong, Tan Sau, Tan Da, Fok, Lap, etc.

    Cheers.

  • @GabbysMyKittyRawr Thanks for clarifying that. I find it very hard to believe that there is a Wing Chun teacher anywhere who doesn't use these terms. I don't see how you could teach or do drills without them. By the way, what is Sifu Wong's lineage? I've seen some of his videos before and it's definitely not Yip Man which is what I practice. It does look a lot like Foshan Wing Chun from Mainland China though. But I know there are quite a few different lineages.

  • @hulkout666 I agree, a proper Wing Chun teacher is hard to find these days, and I share your opinion with not being abled to understand how one teaches drills without giving the proper names.

As for Wong Sifu, I don't know much of his lineage or who he learnt it from, but I do understand he is a JKD teacher and also a Tai Chi practitioner, so you can be sure that his Wing Chun is quite focused on Domination much like Foshan Wing Chun.

    Take care mate, cheers. :)

  • I feel the need to add that people "dissing" this art are inexperienced to the point that they havent realized that it is not the style but it is the person who decides an outcome of a fight. One must accept this before he/she can become a true Martial Artist in any form whether it be Karate, Wing Chun, Escrima, Aikido, etc. Winning a fight is one thing being open to new concepts is another.

  • You want to take out all those variables outside of the specific martial art forms? Just have two robots of similar build, strength, and reaction to learn two different styles and then let them have a brawl. That'll give you a fair comparison.

  • The skills of individuals as well as there actual experience can never be accurately reproduced by "robots" as many know. The human intelligence, instincts, and will are un measurable and cannot simply be punched into a computer.A robot can have the build and strength and reaction but they will never match up to human intelligence. Things are never simply black and white with these matters even in real life situations, anything goes.
