This is an amazing product being molested by a dolt. This video is a huge waste of time for anyone interested in what this machine is capable of. Please Elektron, put out a REAL demo video. I know you have to be embarrassed by this horrible display of non-talent.......
This prooves that once again, Elektron have no idea what to do at a live performance... Please gear4musik tell these guys to release a video detailing features and usage ffs and leave the musik making to the musicians.
Unless you have the Jazzmutant Lemur, playing music on a computer is just NOT THAT MUCH FUN! Regardless of what has been said, I have never had as much fun making music than I have with the Monomachine and Machinedrum. I will be buying this and selling my Korg EMX-1 and ESX-1 to help pay for it. For me, twiddling knobs and watching the light show is all part of the enjoyment. Elektron make sterling products. The Korg EMX-1 is a toy in comparison.
The concept is cool but 90% of what he is doing here is just pitch adjustments. This can be done on most $200 samplers. Pitch moding can be cool but I would hope this sampler can do more than just do tonal mods. So far that is all I hear. I'm waiting for sampler that has the ability to glitch samples much like that od DB Glitch or something more like you would hear in an Aphex Twin song.
Also, if the fader was notches so it would click into actual octaves instead of all the sharp and dull notes that I constantly hear that would be a great improvement.
Great device, too bad such dufus lame-o with no fucking clue is demoing it. If the person playing in the vid reads this: You are simply annoying as hell.
Any Auto-Chop features planned? So if A DJ drops a production track into one of the sampler track slots, does this automatically stretch the 4 on the floor kicks with the BPM setting of the octatrack? Or do you need to tell the octatrack manually what the 'original BPM' is for a given sample, and also assign a sample wave start point manually too? or?
An MPC is like Ableton in a box. Heck, any groove box is sorta like Ableton in a box.
Would like to see hear more of its sounds and how they work. Most of what we've seen is all sample manipulation -- can we use this in a more traditional sampler sense?
@gear4music1 how different or improved is the external sequencer, how many tracks for external (8?). also can you realtime sample then save that sample immediately? or will you need to do what the machiendrum needs and load it to your computer then load it back into a rom slot to have it internally saved? will a featrue like that be available in the machinedrum sps-1uw upgrade?
WHhy does he keep demoing the modulation capabilities but then not recording them (parameter locks?) to demonstrate the real time recording capbilties?
i think the hardware if really nice but why is it always that the devolpers cant make any cool music themself lol

Dear Elektron,
Why hasn't your employee rehearsed a proper demo.
Yours Sincerely,
James

Hi guys,
Check out our new Elektron Octatrack video over on our channel now. It's way more in depth.
gear4music1 1 year ago
Hi guys,
Due to the great response we've had we've just done another demo of the Octatrack. Jon from Elektron talks us through it, then plays a sweet tune.
Will keep you posted!

Elektron bringing the challenge of making music back again. I love it. If it can act like a SP1200... man that would be awesome.
