The individual who produced it already had admin rights and therefore could reset the Administrator password without having to know it.

Also there is no such key combination as space+shift+*

heres an easier way in notepad and save as anything.bat:

where it says username it is to change username & where it says password is to change password. Then open and command prompt will say a message like command complete. Works in any window computer.

Just to let everyone know, this does not apply to Networks, only the computer it's self. Ways to find out the password is incredibly hard if you are a normal user (non-admin) as most of it is encrypted by default (if you don't know what encryption is, Google it). For the Access is denied bit: This means you must have administrative privileges... You can get this by changing the group your user is in, for example you will be groupUSER and they (admins) as groupADMIN. Hope this helped :) P.DOS

or whatever account you are trying to change the password for. make sure you include the asterisk at the end & include all the spaces. is you get "system error 5" i can't help you, still looking for the solution myself

If you have the other admin account than you can reset the main administrator password. If you don't have the other admin account than you can use the reset disk.

If you don't have the reset disk than you can use software called Password Resetter. The Main Purpose of this software is to remove windows password. You can get the software from
