This fire would not have gone out with water. That is why they used foam. This is a class b fire because it is a flammable liquid. You need to stop the vapors from burning and water will not do that on its own. Try lighting a small kitchen pan full of gasoline or diesel in a parking lot and try to put it out with a water can. Let me know what happens lol

May be, but using not more than 0.6 % can not generate a lot of costs.
Water consuming is max 40 gallons/minute, they took less than 100 seconds!
Imagine 60 gallons of water consumed makes 0.36 gallons of foam concentrate.
Will you any more discuss the price of this action?

ATF foam is the best you can get... It's used in airports. But it's not cheap...
