@ImpossibleQuiz1 If you're not careful enough, you'll get frozen constantly, and when the Crystal King duplicates you'd better have a back-up, or else you'll end up in a pretty pad position. Constantly charging in this battle is not such a good move :P

There is an easy way to beat him without taking any damage.

Have bow as your partner and have the jump charge (+3 makes the battle go quicker ) and power bounce. keep charging with Mario and have Bow use "Outta site." He will keep using the same move where he summons the ice things. This takes 2 turns to use the combo so Bow's "Outta site will always work. When you have enough charges, use power bounce (or you can use the regular jump, but I used power bounce) and his health will drop from ful

I tip my hat (if I had one) to you for having such good reaction time. I am able to block many things as well, however you kept blocking, it certainly helps since I have a tendency to stack Damage Dodge up. So the moves don't do much anyway if successfully blocked. My favorite boss, the start of my own anime character, I was very much inspired by the first paper mario. In my opinion I love the classic more than the TYD. Super paper mario was horrible to me. That whole chapter was my absoulute favorite hands down.

@2000VinceCarter its in tubba blubbas castle when you get about 2/3's in you will see a clubba blocking a cracked wall. blow up the all and inside theres three floor boards. spin jump on the top right and use parakary to get it.

@8nighstar in what world does that mean he has 110???? if bowser can only have 99 and he heals 10 he doesn't have 109 he just has 99, same logic is applied here, crystal king's hp = 70 and can be no higher than 70, if he heals 40 that doesn't change the fact he can only have 70. he may re heal but that doesn't increase his total health over his max life.

@Brollyhero99TOP10 see i've played the first and 3rd and i'm on the last boss of the second and all of them are good. The 2.5 for the 3rd gave new gameplay elements and the story wasnt bad. Idk why everybody is calling it a stupid kids game. This ones my favorite probably cuz of nostalgia but the second one overall had the best progression and improvements. The 2nd game in most series always has it down. Melee being an example.

To me... this will always be the best paper mario game because it has more adventure to it.. You to go different places (by travel), it has good landscape backgrounds and music themes... every other paper mario, you just do things around a small town.. -hardly any different towns and not much to see in the backgrounds.-

@Deathstrikeable ive completed it with 10 and 5 fp. u just do the badge upgrade alot, it dedgrades the other stats, and the trick is to bring to battles like that (expesally bower) is to bring LOTS of revive shrooms.

When I reached this boss, I let my little brother play and he beat him on his first try.

One reason was that he got lucky guesses on when the Crystal King was cloning himself.

My favorite strategy is to put on a bunch of DEF-boosting badges, then charge Mario's jump attack for a long time. I've caused over 1000 damage to this boss at around level 20, but it could easily be done as low as level 15-ish. Just get a decent amount of of FP and max BP, you'll take so little damage from the Crystal Bits HP won't matter.

I find that a better strategy for this boss is to use Watt instead of Lakilester. Basically, take out only two Crystal Bits. This way, he can only deal a maximum damage of 4 and he won't need to use the Freeze Beam.
