  • Thank God most people who have commented on this have the good sense to recognise Ollie for what he was - a genuine bloke with a great sense of humour and a man who, just because he was a celebrity, was not afraid to be himself no matter what people may have thought of him. The few amongst you who knock him I can say only this - fuck you' get a life and at least make an attempt at enjoying it. This is one of the greatest actors who ever lived and it is a shame there aren't more in the world of

  • Doesn't look like Oliver Reed at all.

  • Could someone please track down the interviewer and run a sword through him?

  • Ken Russell said that Oliver Reed was an angel. Who could disagree..? Whilst he may have appeared boorish as an interviewee often the interviewer was the boor (as in this instance). Oliver Reed.... great actor, underestimated actor, beautiful actor... which patronising twat made this film, and where does he live..?

  • fucking oliver reed brightend up this boring world,GOD BLESS OLIVER REED. we need a national oliver reed day.

  • @balearicsoundwave89 here here!

  • Why send a fuckwit to interview a Legend.

Do not bad mouth Mr Reed in Ireland, you could wake up with a crowd around you.

  • @GreenmanXIV because thats all you can afford at the time

  • even as heavy as a drinker as he was, he was still incredibly smart and witty.

    a real man's man.

  • However esteemed the drinker thinks himself, to those on the receiving end he is only some version of pathetic.

  • @chadmurphi How are those AA meetings going? Done the 13th step yet?

  • @chadmurphi fuck of oliver reed is a legend, you just need a drink..faggot bore

  • to bad He's dead " he s funny as fuck !!!!!

  • Great fella and legend!

  • in the great wine glass of life...olivers was always full...wonderful man...much missed

  • when he says 'of course' and then does that smile from 1:15ish... makes me miss him/ laugh my ass off. hahaha

  • i think the person doing the interview sounds a bit of a prick......sort of taking the piss now and again...and taking advantage of him being drunk...i miss you dearly oliver....R.I.P.

  • being pissed and doing an interview is everyday life for him.

  • @BILLYKARLOFF and that's wrong?

  • Oliver Reed had a gift for making sober interviewers look foolish even when he was blind drunk. The more lunatic he behaved, the more insufferable they became, which simply spurred him to greater idiocies at their expense. This is one of Reed's most hilarious interviews, especially when he talks about The Big Bopper ("Is he still alive? You don't know?"). I was watching this on my way back from the liquor store and laughed so hard I nearly bashed into something!

  • Ha ha. I still love him. Ollie you are the best.

  • Amazing to hear Reed talking about Ewell, Epsom & Tiffin School.

The interviewer should have ditched his stupid script about a non event & interviewed Reed about his childhood years in Surrey, far more interesting, he was obviously in the mood to talk

    Missed opportunity ; (

  • if u don't like seeing people live as they want to live, then don't watch an ollie reed interview; stop complaining about boozed up individuals- ollie lived as he wanted to, which alot of ppl this day n age r 2 frightened to do. great actor, inspiring individual. RIP ollie

  • This is an old, self-important pervert. He promotes the tired idea that Rock and Rollers are somehow royal. What a bunch of drunken babble.

  • "How much (do) they pay you?"---Ollie

    "Not enough!"--Interviewer

*sublime smile by Ollie to the camera

    I love it! Haha!

  • ...Oliver Reed would struggle to out drink a drunken Polish gypsy!

  • I love how half of ollies collar is folded underneath itself haha, awesome legend. OLLIE OLLIE OLLIE!

  • Even drunk Oliver Reed could take the piss out of a stupid interviewer, he is a clever guy. The big boppa died on the day music died in 1959 as Ollie knew well. Fantastically talented actor.

  • I long for the days when alcoholism passed for light entertainment.

  • @adamtzsch I long for the days when alcoholism was a form of sobriety

  • Keith moon and Oliver reed my dream nite out

  • ‎'well, it's a bizarre way of probably having an attitude or does that confuse you, with your hair style

  • like shooting fish in a barrell. Shot by both sides.

  • @nazi8per Yup a hereditary disease.I should know as I struggle w/it myself.Something U have to fight against everyday.Much like chemo for a cancer patient.Allthough alcoholism is an oxymoron disease unlike cancer. Peace...

  • Oliver Reed was an original.

    RIP, Ollie.

  • me and my mates had docked in Jersey overnight.

downin the town we called in a pub and ollie was holding court

it was the funniest and one of the most memorable nights ive had

he tried to pay for the drinks all night but we wasnt having none of that

eating kebabs with a bloody screen legend at 1.00 in the morn then waving goodbye to his fat arse mooning in the back window of a taxi still brings a smile

    RIP OLLIE

  • @zzzed55 Thanks for a fab story. RIP Ollie!

  • @zzzed55

omg you met oliver reed??? you lucky lucky person!

  • @zzzed55 I have to admit I am so incredibly jealous of you! Sounds amazing, I would loved to have met good ol' Oliver Reed, a legend in his own right.

  • @zzzed55 lol thats fantastic

  • i think olly likes the interviewer actually

  • A drunk he was but certainly not pathetic. He had a disease in which he needed desperate help overcoming. I think shallow people are pathetic. Oliver was a brilliant actor and has left us all an invaluable legacy of great films. And I have to admit, entertained us as well with some crazy ass antics along the way. Funny, yes. Pathetic, no. More sympathetic if you are not too shallow to dig a little deeper. RIP Ollie...

  • @gabby4steve Calling it a disease isn't correct.

    The flu is a disease.

Alcoholism is hereditary, amongst other tings.

  • @ghb61 and who are you?

  • lol this guy was just too much

  • A truly great actor. Very human-refreshing candid-drunk or sober-hes' still Oliver Reed!!

  • ollie. a well educated man and brilliant actor. RIP Ollie, xx

  • I think he is so sweet, he was a good actor , was a cutie in his younger days and just did the shit he wanted to do.

Despite his demons i love the fact that he still talks like a english gent..much love ollie

  • Oliver Reed will forever be the bad-ass-ist Bill Sykes(sp?) in Dicken's classic "Oliver!" ..... A PBS legend.... "I'll do anything for you, dear, anything..." Anyone see him in that early ninety's movie with Oliver Platt and Jerry Lewis called "Funny Bones." ? Brilliant.

  • He was a funny bastard, always enjoyed watching him on tv such a pity he's gone

  • Would loved to have had a night out with him

  • There is only one thing harder than Chuck Norris. Oliver Reeds liver.

  • I love how they focus on his drink, like he's being difficult because he's drunk, and not because the interviewer is an arse. Who doesn't know who the fuckin' Big Bopper is? Ya cunt!

  • 6:00 is my favourite line ever!!!!!! 'let's not... let's talk about keith moon.' they both loved their booze. it's funny how the sound so alike, too.

  • he has a way to tell stories that is just nervewrecking

  • i wish he end this by sayin .. but i was very very drunk. just like the fast show

  • Oliver Reed was on David Letterman's show in the early days. Dave was having trouble getting anything out of him, and irritatedly Reed blurted out, "I like trees and boats. (Confine) your questions to those topics." Along with Rutger Hauer and Nastassja Kinski, one of his most difficult guests ever. Great trainwreck TV.

  • loved him in gadiator

  • Drunks aren't funny...just pathetic.

  • @teddy1066

Ollie Reed was batshit crazy, the drink had little to do ith it.

His close friends say that he was "tolerable" when he drank and "scary" when sober.

  • @teddy1066 yes proberly true but this drunk as u say was very intelligent.

  • He's raving mad

  • it may have been a bit of a joke but why did oliver want to be a rock n roller? he was truly a great actor & probably the best british actor, sadly a talent wastd by that terrible decease that is alchoholism.

  • Sadly, if you study O. R. interviews during the last 10 years of his life, maybe even more, you will find him using the same twists, frazes and even one word answers when trying to be funny or cruel, playing himself as a shock charactor and yet using his own used up material as short cuts. Guy was an epic actor but a common bully in real life. Hype can get further than a genuine article every time!

  • It's a pity he didn't get pancreatic cancer from his alcoholism.

  • @JuanMacready Really? You wish ill on many people other than yourself?

  • No, just talentless unfunny drunks.

  • @JuanMacready You base talent on your appraisal of a person's drinking alcohol then? It's not something based in logic: I think you'll be wise to re-think; the most celebrated writer in this language, William Shakespeare, was a heavy drinker.

  • 0:55

  • the one and only

  • ......Just goes to show that really anyone of this sort of stature can chose to be their true self or just play up for the cameras... either way they're far better than the idiots watching it

  • Not sure why the camera man keeps panning down to his drink as if to say "look... he's drinking, isn't that outrageous!". He makes amazing and valid points throughout and the interviewer is completely put off by it. All he wants to talk about is novelty songs when everyone else (including Oliver) would rather be talking about something significant. I fucking hate these kind of interviews where people hope for the worst.

  • Ollie was in a very easy going mood during this interview......otherwise that "dogs dick" of a interviewer would be wearing his balls for earrings.

  • interviewer is a cunt

  • Yawn...always waffles about bollocks..School days..Very odd behaviour...If I had been on the the piss with him I would have ended scraping him cause he talks crap. No doubt he could turn nasty. Think its a selfish act that he puts on, and waits for a reaction when he is throwing in "Put down comments" anyway he is dead...Lee Marvin proper bloke served in the marines and got on with it

  • My father Figure

  • lol i love it its like treading on eggshells.

  • "...and 'crumpet' is the same internationally, had it not been so, I would've told you."

Funny bastard. He may have sozzled away most of his braincells, but he always gave stupid interviewers a bit of grief.

  • @XTRMJZZTRRR So True!!!

  • @XTRMJZZTRRR

    I fucking love that quote

  • the interviewer is a total wanker, oliver is a legend and this muppet is trying to discredit him

  • actually i admired that he was drunk on several enterviews, he was so very cool xD

  • What a Toffee nosed WANKER!

  • gla di'm not an alcoholic.

  • ollie reed was my personal hero. the idiot below just doesn't see the indefinable qualities that guy had.

  • What was that? Getting into films because of his famous uncle?

  • the interviewer is a stupid fucking monkey boy that doesn't know how to behave in the presence of a legend

  • and i dont like the interviewer

  • Ollie was a real man

  • where is the clip of ollie doing that handstand (i know that's not the right term) on the patio table?

    anyone?

  • Love Oliver Reed

  • boys come out of ther mothers wombs and are taught by their dads in the pub

    lovely gravey!!!

  • pff - fuck off

  • See the problem with oli the legend that he was, was down to the fact that he kept getting interviewed by ballbags!

  • It was the producers I think. They knew full well that when shown alcohol, he would drink it. Like that Aspel interview. They plied him with Voddy-orange for 3 hours before hand. Car crash telly is always reffered to more than mainstream, specially with piss-poor telly like Aspel. Olly will always be a legend in my view. Case is point; Gladiator. Probably the best acting performance in that whole movie.

  • He sucked in Gladiator and looked 70.

  • Thats you're viewpoint. thing is he was around the age of 70 and acted the shit out of Crowe & Pheonix despite having almost a cameo part. Maybe you wanna sit there and cream your pants over shitty acting, thts upto you.

  • Thing is he had only just turned 61, was obese and ugly, and couldn't act for shit.

I'm glad he's dead and gone.

  • "I'm glad he's dead and gone"

why the fuck were you watching this vid in the first place then?

"Thing is he had only just turned 61"

You try being a full blown pisshead for the best part of 4 decades and look as good.

  • Reed was a closet homosexual like his character in Women in Love. No wonder he killed himself and hid behind the alcoholism.

  • Not only a retard but a homophobe! He did not kill himself. He died doing what he enjoyed, drinking in a pub. In Malta no less, while filming Gladator. So what if he had gay tendancies, is that a bad thing? Are you saying that gay men shouldnt be actors?

  • Drinking rum, whisky, brandy, beer and arm wrestling sailors? Sounds like a death wish.

  • Sounds like a good day in a pub for a solid alcoholic to me.

Took you all that time to check a wiki page? Nice one numbnuts!

Get back to Peter Firth movies and shut the fuck up, you giant twat.

  • I also read that Reed became very ill from his alcoholism when he was only 49.

  • And? I suppose being an alcoholic means you play no role in life to you. I can name a U.S president, a list of singers/songwriters, authors, actors, directors, producers. You have no arguable ground.

Is the whole reason why you watched this vid because you did'nt like him? You have too much time on your hands. Maybe you are just sad little man sitting there without so much a drink to help you out. You don't even have the cognition required to argue! You're just making yourself look a prick.

  • I repeat, get back to yoru Peter Firth movies and shut the fuck up

  • I hope you become very ill tommorrow and die, to rid us all of your tasteless, pathetic, pointless life.

Go suck on Peter Firths shit, a man who is just as irellevant as you

  • Bellyman700 is right, you are on every video of Ollie, you sick CUNT. FUCK OFF you worthless pile of shit

  • lol the thing is Peter Firth's boyfriend here will keep returning as he has to have the last word. He spent all this time revising Ollie's life just to hate him. How pathetic, lmao. He calls Ollie sad and pathetic and look at his fucking life hahaha

  • Sounds like a fucking good night to me, go rip your throat out and see who cares, cunt ass

  • ignore PeterFirthFan, he's just a pathetic cunt who posts this shit on ALL of the ollie videos (imagine how long that took and then gauge how sad he is) and seems to think everyone agrees, when noon actually cares about his existence.

  • FTW...

    "and couldn't act for shit"

Still a better actor than Pheonix and Crowe

  • Lol, you silly, pathetic cunt.

You actively find all ollie videos just to berate him and then cum over your own comments.

What is your purpose on life? Think on this clearly then kill yourself. I'll be celebrating with your family when you're dead.

  • Hate to such a talented sexy guy end up like this - see the 1973 Parkinson interview for the real Ollie Reed

  • end up like fucking what? He regretted NOTHING.

  • He was a pathetic loser. Amazing how a fat ugly twat with no talent ever became famous. It was only because his uncle was director Sir Carol Reed.

  • go and kill yourself, you useless waste of life. Just kill yourself, no one will care you rotten cunt flap

  • Nobody cared about the talentless washed up alcoholic homosexual Reed either.

  • go kill yourself, why are you even typing? no-one cares about your pathetic, meaningless life

  • Why don't you kill yourself so you can join your talentless alcoholic hero in Hell.

  • @PeterFirthFan

Every one 's entitled to their own opinion but to say Oliver Reed was ugly with no talent is simply not true

  • @PeterFirthFan

You are obviously a very sad lonely child! Reed is and was a legend!

  • @PeterFirthFan

If you hate Oliver Reed so much why do you spend so much time posting comments about him !

  • A legend of living life to the full and not giving a shit. He was NOT an alcoholic and went for months without drinking. His family DIDNT suffer - read the books and watch the documentaries you pathetic, talentless waste of life.

You are so desparate for attention, go shit in peter firths mouth as he humps your mother you cunt.

  • Have you considered medical attention ?

Very aggressive from the safety of your Olly "the alchoholic" shrine.. lol

If your mums under 65 send her round so I can fuck her up the arse.

You know she likes it.. lol

  • if he didn't give a shit, he wouldn't drink himself to death

  • I wonder how much he suffered because of alcoholism, a terrible disease that hurts everyone.

  • Well he nearly died from drinking when he was 49. I'm sure his family suffered more than he did though.

  • peter firth

    lol

    you sad sad cunt

  • The only sad sad cunt was the talentless alcholic loser Reed. I'm glad he died a decade ago.

  • The Big Bobber died in like 1953.

  • "you never talk about ladies. you never talk about rock and roll. you just remember it!" i fucking love ollie reed!!

  • Ollie's ripping the cunt out of this guy lmao

  • This man was a true drunkard. Not some fucking rich hipster pansy who get belligerant and loud and volitile when hes finished his 5th shot. Obviously Reed has emotional and personal shortcomings...probably a social disorder that went undiagnosed....however he was a nice guy and good man. funny story his career almost got killed becuase he got tanked and into a barfight in which he suffered a massive gash in his face that requirted stiches.

  • They just dont make em like this anymore!!!

    RIP Ollie baby!! xx

  • GLASSY EYES CROOKED GLASSES LEGEND

  • the interviewer is a classless wank

  • crumpet is the same internationally, hahaha the best

  • The man drinking with drummer from The Who.Ahh.

  • i guess you have to be a drunken waste to understand a drunken waste...LOL

  • this guy is either a genius or a complete drunken waste... i cant tell....lol

  • look im drunk (or atleast too drunk to drive right nowP) and this guy is a genuis. he would ofg benn a visionary is he didnt die so early. great actgor but a even better human being. he was nowhere near peerfect of course but he appraosched the world even drunk., through a realistic lens. watch all his interiviews ,,,,except wen hes abosulutly smashed (non one makes sense then) and he explains why his shortcomings made him need alcohol to connect with humanity.

  • you see he was weird or just diddfferent....i mean im fucked up and he makes zero sense at the bweginnings....but listen and try to dissect the subject matter. he was the epitome of humanity. period. anyone who disagrees hasnt loked at their liwour cabinet or bathroom where they jeep their anti depressants. sad sadas sad life but ill tell yah i would kille to own the property and own the perspective he had.

  • I'm glad i'm not the only one who can see how much of a genius this man is!! watch his ramblings on after dark....some of his sentences are mind blowing but his companions just don't get it!!

  • Ollie Reed IS a genius...the problem is that HE doesn't know it!!! But I do!! Does that make ME a genius? LOL

  • genius obviously

  • I think its both obviously.

  • oliver was a true legend the type you will never see again, i worship this icon.

  • taking the piss out of you americans e g the jacket it sets us appart

  • 01:27 "thats not neccessarily so". Such understated menace in the delivery of that line.

  • i get the 93!!

  • just imagine him with Keith Moon! What a thought

  • The cameraman was a bit naughty , zooming in on the glass of wine.

  • it was actually revealing. It displayed Oliver gripping and caressing his glass, which is symptomatic of alcoholics.

  • oh wow... another less subtle symptom he displayed was being drunk off his ass, you catch that one too?

  • Idiot. Did you catch the comment that I was responding to? Find something more useful to do than simply trolling YT. It makes you seem like an impotent wanker.

  • Yes I did, but I'm afraid that even in context, your comment was totally pretentious and naive-sounding. I'm sorry if pointing that out made you so butt hurt that you had to respond by calling me outdated, pretentious names like "wanker."

Maybe you should find something better to do, like going to the orthodontist, showering, or trying not to make the worst food in all of Europe.

  • You simply don't have a clue.

  • fog horn

  • good night

  • you sure you don't want to challenge me to a duel or something?

  • Nah, can't be arsed. Go ahead and troll yourself blue in the face. I'm going to bed.

  • heh, you already said good night. what was keeping you? If you're so far above the fray why'd you respond to me every single time?

  • go and eat your keyboard.

  • I love it well well-spoken (or written in this case) trolls get annoyed. Tiddle posh, poppy cock.

  • fucking miserable young twat

  • I read that he was shy man who got dutch courage through alcohol.

  • I heard that, too.
