nice i got one in vietnam! it's cost me 30$, but made in china, still good but i got some trouble with water filter for this mini....the pressure is desgrease if you put the water filter in...
im having problems with mine it keeps turning off and then u press the airbrush button and it drops right down to 20psi then u have to release the button and it goes back up to 50 why is it doing this?
@SeGaSaTuRn1994 Hmm, I can't think of any other reason besides the hose. Sometimes, when it leaks, it fluctuates erratically. You might want to make sure it's screwed tight. My airbrush does something similar. The airbrush comes out strong at 60 but then lowers to about 40. Nothing changes on the gauge though. If that's the problem you're having, then we both need the answer, haha! Sorry if I wasn't of any help.
Hello! I bought this guy online at the Harbor Freight website. The link's in the description. I'd browse around a little bit more because I think there might be a silent version of this compressor. It's worth looking in to. Hope I helped!
Ive been saving baby food jars for when i start airbrushing. I got a gang of them now. I hope they will keep paint good for a while. if you need some let me know. I got extras and counting.
Baby food jars! I never would of thought of that! Haha! Now that I think of it, they are the perfect size. Good looking out man! Thanks! I'll be sure to throw you a buzz if I'm short on jars! Thanks again!
Thanx for the review on the compressor to BTW. Ive had my eye on it for a while now. Have you tried any of their air brushes? They got some pretty cheap ones. I may give one a whirl just to see how well they work. Im all about saving money.
Anytime! Cheapest and most reliable one I could find. I did quite a bit of research. Though, it seems that the extra money for a silent one would have ultimately been worth it. They have airbrushes? I should look into them! I have a Paasche Model H and it works pretty well, but if the other one has some good reviews, I might be willing to convert. Thanks for the heads up dude!
@ShadowMakerOfMasks Your Paasche is better than the harbor freight brush. That compressor seems kinda loud for something that's on all the time. Have you invested in one with a tank yet?
@sgtm1775 Glad to hear it haha! I made the right choice. Yeah I'm pretty surprised that the neighbor's haven't complained about it. I might just have to start saving up those pennies I have around haha!
@ShadowMakerOfMasks how is this compressor? I heard that compressor without tanks create a pulsing effect in the air they produce, is that noticeable?
Very cool man! Well, a big tip would be to get a quiet compressor. The quiet version of the compressor, in this video, is available somewhere. It might be in the link in the sidebar. It's worth trying! Haha! If you airbrush inside, with a loud compressor, the sound will bounce off the walls, causing it to amplify. That would suck. Haha! If you're using acrylic paint, always clean out your airbrush even after one coat. I'd put more tips but I'm out of room. Hope I helped!
Oh very cool! Seems like a pretty popular compressor haha! Works like a charm! Right on dude! What paints do you use? I use MonsterMaker's latex paints and thin them down with ammonia for better use. I'm looking into FW inks. I hear they flow smoothly through the airbrush. As opposed to the latex paints I have. When I paint thin lines, sometimes, the airbrush spurts out dots. It can be a bummer sometimes, but for the most part, it's quite a bit of fun!
Hey thanks man! To be honest, I think I'm just a little bit better than a noobie haha! I've still got lots to learn. I can already see some self improvement so that makes me happy haha! Thanks again for the support! Comments like yours keep me treadin'! Haha!
idk man i think your alot better then a noob i mean your cynical circus is insane but if comments like that keep you going then i will need to make more time to come by and let you know what i think
Haha thanks! Yeah Cynical Circus really made that transition from fantasy to realism. I think it was important that I made him. Haha well I'd appreciate that man! Thanks! Always looking to get better. Opinions and critiques help me do that. Thanks again!
yes, I too just received this compressor as a christmas gift a couple weeks ago. and I finally had a chance to fiddle with it a bit. However, I found that the stupid thing doesn't properly regulate air flow and has tendency to sputter when I try adjusting the psi to anything other than 60. In my opinion, its a bit of a junker. However I think I'll try buying a seperate regulator and see if that will solve the problem.
Ah that does sound frustrating. Do you think it might be the hose? When I got my airbrush kit, I noticed that I had to connect to airbrush hose to the compressor hose. It always leaks out air and the compressor always says it's at a higher PSI than it actually is. I can't use my airbrush under 20 PSI. If it's too low, it sprays dots. It bites, but oh well haha! Hope everything works out!
Having trouble adjusting the PSI on your airbrush compressor? Hopefully, I have the solution! Check out my video entitled "How to adjust the PSI on an airbrush compressor." Hope I helped! Thanks for your time!
I have one of this type of compressor, I'm new to airbrushing & thought I was doing something wrong, logged on to find out what if anything i needed to correct only to see that someone else is having issues with the regulator not adjusting the PSI. Very frustrating, I kept wondering if it was the paasche hoses that were just leaking the air out but I guess I just need a new compressor. Wish i had the good luck with this one that you are having. i think I'm going to order one made by Paasche.
Oh, are you not getting enough air pressure? My compressor spews out the paint faster than the speed of light! Haha. I did find a way to lower it, but I don't know if it's good for the compressor or the hose. I loosen the hose slightly, so it releases the air by the compressor and not through the airbrush. This way, the PSI gets reduced a ton. Haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like it'll work. Oh, and if your Paasche does work out, feel free to come back and share your experience!
Yeah man, you'd think adjusting the PSI would be a simple task for a compressor. Whenever I painted a mask, the paint would always run down to the bottom. It's just awful really, but oh well. What can ya do? Haha.
Ha, yeah. I really didn't mind the fact that the regulator didn't work, it was just that damn moisture in the lines. I have a different compressor that i'm using now and i had the same problem. I just bought a 6 foot hose to go between the water trap and the compressor but i haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Yeah I would imagine that it's pretty frustrating. Second compressor too? Damn. Well it sounds like you've got all the components you need to get things running again! Personally, I'm new to airbrushing. When I bought the compressor, I pretty much expected to just hook it up to the airbrush, and smooth sailing ahead. Sadly, I guess it doesn't quite go that way haha! I wish you the best of luck with your new compressor!
also everyone if you get this a friendly tip is the black hose that you get with it can leak air and shoot out the hose while plugged in the air compressor so fill the space between the tube and the couplings with hot melt glue
Great minds think alike! Haha! It was suggested that I buy this compressor in-particular because it's reliable and will last for years. So far, I'm diggin' it!
As far as the airbrush, that came along with a "Monster Makers" Deluxe package. Paasche, as far as I know, has pretty good quality airbrushes. So I'm pretty happy with it.
Yeah, that's definitely something that should be considered in the purchase of one of these guys. I would of liked to stay up at night, airbrushing. It's quite obvious that I can't now haha!
Quit all the excuses and explaining, no one gives a shit. This thing is loud.
