  • HOW THE FUCK CAN SOMEONE FORGET DRIVE!!!

  • <3 <3 <3 HTTYD Battling the Green Death/ Test Drive/ Forbidden Friendship/ Romantic Flight/ This is Berk etc . HATE the clip used back in the actual Oscars!

  • How the hell did HTTYD not win

  • I read somewhere that Black Swan got disqualified from the Best Original Score nomination because they used music Tchaikovsky . But even The Social network used the track"in the hall of the mountain king" by Edward Grieg. So TSN should be disqualified

  • The reason why Inception should have won is that if you listen to the music alone , you can see that it works but The social network isn't like that. The reason why the Oscar didn't realize this is because they are a bunch of knuckleheads.

  • Fuck all. U bitches social network and inception re the best ones! !!!!!!!also moneyball

  • Clint Mansell merecía la nominación y el premio por Black Swan

  • i always thought that one of "HTTYD" or "Inception" will win the Oscars!!

  • 1. John Williams

    2. Danny Elfman

    3. Hans Zimmer

    4. Thomas Newman

    5. Howard Shore

Everyone else's works... who are they again?

  • @Clogged14 I totally respect your opinion, but I will put James Horner over Zimmer and Elfman any time, any day.

  • @thejhornerfactor Horner? It doesn't matter. As long as Williams is on top. Great pick though.

  • @Clogged14 Sounds really odd, but Horner is the whole reason why I love film music. Williams is the ultimate genius though, no doubt about that ;)

  • @Clogged14 john murphy pretty good too,

  • I think inception should have won, but the social network score is brilliant.

  • I really thought 127 Hours should've won just because I think it adds the most to its movie. Listening to them alone, it might not be the single best of the five, but I really think it was incorporated at all the right times to add suspense and emotion when they needed it. I would've voted for that one.

  • 1. TSN

    2. TKS

    3. 127H

    4. HTTYD

    5. Inception

  • @Mallen151, HELL NO! Hans Zimmer should've won, hands down.

  • Am I the only one that thinks

    1) Inception

    2) TSN

    3) HTTYD

    4) 127 Hours

    5) TKS

  • Inception was supremely better though...but there is dis track called "liberation" in 127 hours which s too good...tat s t one tat plays in dis compilation

  • Inception was supremely

  • Guitar guitar...strum ur soul all the way till death...I go with 127 hours...

  • 1. INCEPTION

    2. HTTYD

    3. 127 Hours

    4. TKS

    5. The Social Network (I don't understand how it could have won when Inception and HTTYD was 100X better. The Social Network isn't even considered music to me.)

  • 1. The Social Network

    2. Inception

    3. How to Train Your Dragon

    4. 127 Hours

    5. The King's Speech

  • that oscar is for inception give it back fucking treznor piece of shit

  • It should've been HTTYD

  • 1.-HTTYD

    2.-TKS

    3.-INCPTION

    4.-TSN

    5.-127 H

  • Inception had good music but it is essentially classical music.

127 i think also had a really underapreciated score but i think in the context of the movie social network fit much better.

As for all the haters out there:

I keep hearing that "social network music is so easy to make its just piano notes and staticy sounds."

Well.. nobody is stopping you... go on.. get an oscar...

  • IT SHOULD'VE BEEN 127 HOURS! Well, thats the catchiest one to me anyway(:

  • Many people mat disagree, but here's how I think it should go:

    1: Inception

    2: The Social Network

    3. The King's Speech

    4. 127 Hours

    5. How to Train Your Dragon

Side note: The Social Network score is much better when listening to it in the movie than it is by itself.

  • wow, i am suprised Justin Bieber wasn't trolling on youtube and creating numerous accounts to dislike to music, Amazing.....

  • HTTYD is #1 ALL THE WAY <333 can't believe John didn't win, it had SO much creativity in it, and Forbidden Friendship was the only song I knew that actually brought a tear to my eye ;)

  • @Warhawkisafungame I'm so agree! "How To Train Your Dragon" has one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL, wounderful soundtrack, I have heard in LONG time! I think It really deserved these Oscars, it was nominated to!

  • how the fuck hard is it to make the music to social network - i make the same sound when i chuck a turd

  • How the social network won the award over inception is beyond me. It's soundtrack is much more deeper, the social network just has the same tune playing through the whole movie. Honestly listen to the entire soundtrack of inception. I admit the piano track from TSN is very refreshingly simple and pleasent but THAT WAS IT. That was the soundtrack. The argument that "ohh all action movies sound like that" is ridiculous. Please find me one song that sounds like inception, it is absolutely original!

  • The social network defiantly deserved to win.

  • Inception, the best soundtrack ever made

  • You all just wait- Trent is working on another movie- the girl with the dragon tattoo. it was a fluke! he ripped off his previous work.

    Hans was robbed.

  • This is the way god wanted it: Inception, 127 Hours, The Social Network, How to train your Dragon, King's Speech. God disappoint :(...

  • Are you guys insane?

    1) Inception

    2) 127 Hours

    3) TKS

    4) HTTYD

    5) TSN. Zimmer is incredible! Social Network is one of the worst film scores ever made for the last 10 years!

  • @paranoidandroid4321 If you're unable to understand music, maybe.

  • @SohnoJam "unable to understand music" ? I can play the piano, the guitar, drums and the violin. And search the nominees' videos on youtube. Inception has got the more likes than any of them. After that, 127 hours, then TKS, HTTYD AND TSN. Really. Check them out. I AM SO ABLE TO UNDERSTAND MUSIC DUDE.. :)

  • @paranoidandroid4321 Knowing music theory doesn't mean you're able to appreciate any actually creative music. I agree, the Inception score is AMAZING. But it's not different than most action scores. The Social Network had a different score. It actually made dull moments good. And it was made by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, two musical geniuses.

  • @SohnoJam Social Network's main theme with piano is very good. But I don't agree with you about Inception. It's actually different than most action scores, first of all it has got electric guitar in it and there are violins and not drums all the time in "Dream Is Collapsing". In "Mombasa", yes. It's like classic action score but I still think Zimmer or Rahman deserved the oscar...

  • @paranoidandroid4321 I can tell you understand music just by your username.

  • @paranoidandroid4321 Inception didn't get it because how would it look if it got more awards than The Kings Speech

  • @guitarvibe75 It should have won for both soundtrack and script thus winning best picture which it truly was last year.

  • @paranoidandroid4321 Well, the Academy disagrees. In my opinion, The Social Network's film score is one of the best made in the past 10 years. It's so original, and it complimented the movie's plot in such a profound way.

  • Where did you find those 2 different versions of "Test Drive" from HTTYD? I love them!

  • @canadianjew250 i'm pretty sure they are available on the Expanded Score Edition of the soundrack ;)

  • @canadianjew250 where???????

  • @canadianjew250 where???

  • @canadianjew250

It's not two different versions. The one used in this video is called "Coming Back Around" (it plays near the end the movie and into the credits).

  • can someone tell me what is the title of the score in "How To Train Your Dragon"

    please...

  • Zimmer's Inception deserved it...nothing else

  • I can't believe The Social Network won. I would have voted in this order: How to Train Your Dragon, then Inception, then The King's Speech, then (big gap here) The Social Network, then 127 Hours. I cannot believe that TSN won over HtTYD. I'm actually kind of outraged.

  • cannot believe social network won. wasn't even an "original" soundtrack, it sampled tons of other works. HTTYD should have won.

  • Sorry, but I have to say that I really think Inception has the best soundtrack, then TKS and then HTTYD ...why TSN is even up there...I admit, love Trent but nugh, that movie ><

  • Tron was released in plenty of time it just wasn't a legitimate contender.

  • they better have a freaking good reason for the Tron Legacy soundtrack not to be nominated

it better be on the list next year

  • how could John Powell not win?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • @Golddoesnotglitter I think Trent might have snagged it because of two things, It's absolutely stunning and fits the film in such a completely perfect way. And it's so different from all soundtracks ever made. Daring to do things differently and doing it THIS WELL deserves a lot of praise.

Although the other candidates were also very VERY good. I pretty epic year for soundtracks in general. I like the looming nature of Inception quite a lot. And as people have noted, HTTYD was amazing.

  • Listen to "Time" by Hans Zimmer and "Hand Covers Bruise" by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross then lets see how The Social Network or Inception don't deserve this oscar......

Hell even 127 Hours' is under-appreciated..

  • Um Inception definitely for the best music

  • Trent Reznor...that is all.

  • not a prediction, but personal choice

    1) HTTYD

    2) TSN

    3) Inception

    4) The King's Speech

    5) 127 Hours

  • mmmm,,, :

    1) Inception

    2) HTTYD

    3) TKS

    4) TSN

    5) 127 Hours

  • what are the names of the specific tracks that you featured here? :D

  • Hmmm.. My prediction....

    1) 127 Hours

    2) Inception

    3) HTTYD

    4) TSN

    5) TKS

  • the fact that tron: legacy isn't a nomination kinda pisses me off. not that the others aren't good (i absolutely LOVE the inception score) but daft punk really gave it there all to make an original score that went perfectly with the film and pretty much destroyed all expectations with something truely out of the ordinary, not something that can be said about some of the nominees. this is just my opinion

  • @arbiter2212

I dont think Tron was released in time for this years oscars, or at least with enough time to get enough attention from the academy

  • is just my opinion, but i think that TRON LEGACY score really deserves a nomination,

its really amazing, also i think that 127 Hours score doesnt deserve a nomination because the amount of songs and music of others composers, but the academy vote for the movie, not for the score, that's the reason because great and unique scores like dragonheart, the triplets of belleville, spirited away, the last temptation of christ or drag me to hell we're ignored..cheers

  • 1 - TSN -breathtaking, brilliant... unique

2 - Inception - epic (and credits to Edith Piaf, too !)

  • HTTYD all th way!!

So what if the music is a little bit childish compared to the others, the movie itself was 4 young audience.

  • HTTYD sounds like cookie cutter hollywood music, people. It's not impressive unless you're a six year old. After all these years Hollywood needs something that breaks the mold. My vote goes to TSN. You'll see how soundtracks in the future will try to emulate TSN score.

  • 127 Hours! James Franco FTW!

  • Why the HELL do people want the social network to win? Its hardly even a score!!! It sounds like demented Trent Reznor visions when he's high!!! Unless these aren't the scores, they are the soundtracks. Thats what it sounds like to me...

  • HTTYD/ TSN (its really hard for me to pick and this is coming from someone that thinks TSN score is breathtaking, I just think the music for HTTYD fits the bills so well.

    3. Inception EPIC!

    4. 127 HOURS

    5. TKS

  • Out of all of these, TSN and HTTYD had the most memorable scores and played a part in the movie, the others were just backround music.

  • Honestly I think that the only ones competing are Has Zimmer(Inception), A R Rahman(127 hours) and Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross(The social network)

They were the only people that brought something new to the table...whoever wins out of those 3 I'll be really glad...

  • Inception and HTTYD are the best scores. They should to creat a new category as in another decades called: best adapted scores. So Black swan and true grit had competived there.

  • The music sample on here for 127 hours is the track they place when he amputates his arm.

  • I've picked The Social Network - Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross as the winner for this one.

  • John Powell will win, his music fits the movie.

  • It's really a shame that The Social Network is going to win...I mean it's great music but I really am just in love with John Powell's work on How To Train Your Dragon.

    1) HTTYD

    2) TSN

    3) TKS

    4) Inception

    5) 127 Hours

  • @GuitarFreak807 Actually, no.

It's a shame that The King's Speech is going to win ):

  • Hollywood prove me wrong and let HTTYD win. What amazing music.

  • 127 Hours will get it!!! A.R.RAHMAN Superb Music. Complete NEW SOUND.

He used "harpejji" he has gr8 passion to find new instruments & get some new sound. Most of us dnt know wat it is. He learns the instrument in 10min n gets a tune. JUST WATCH THIS..

All other nominations has regular music which we hear every year.

Best song will be "If I Rise" from 127 Hours. Such a new sound & voice.

    Superb A.R.RAHMAN...U ROCK MAN.....

  • HTTYD!!!!!!!!!

  • I wished "How to train your dragon" won!!

    Here's my list:

    1. How to train your dragon

    2. The King's Speech

    3. Inception

    4. The Social Network

    5. 127 Hours

I really hope HTTYD wins. John Powell deserves it! It's such a fantastic, amazing score, and it makes so much fun to listen to the music!

  • I knew from the moment that I heard one of the tracks on YouTube and then again after watching the movie that "How To Train Your Dragon" deserved an Oscar nomination for Best Original Score. After Critics Choice Awards and Golden Globes, I was afraid it wouldn't get it. Well, it has, and I hope it wins!

  • Oh, my god. The King's Speech was an awesome movie. I watched it in the weekend and I loved it :) My choices would be in this order though:

    1. How to Train Your Dragon

    2. 127 Hours

    3. The King's Speech

    4. The Social Network

    5. Inception

I was upset that Tron Legacy didn't get a nomination for the score, though. I really liked it :(

  • TRON LEGACY shoulda bag the award home! Daft Punk FTW

  • OK. Screw you all who say How to Train Your Dragon has no chance of winning. IT HAD AN AMAZING SCORE (yeah they all do...). I cant even find the proper words to fully defend how beautiful, EPIC, and uplifting its compositon(s actually) was. Its only competition is TSN.

In my opinion out of all of these, Inception had the weakest score. Hanz Zimmer is my favorite composer and it felt intense, but not his best.

    Here's my predictions:

    1.HTTYD

    2.TSN

    3.127

    4.Inception

    5.TKS-havn't seen it yet

  • @Moonburst12, I would have to disagree with you about Inception. I thought King's Speech had a good score, but not my favorite. Haven't seen HTTYD yet along with 127 and TSN, but they all sound good. I respect your Opinion though. :)

  • @kbros9698 Meh, I don't mean to be a bitch right now and change my opinion, but I am. After re-watching Inception again, I got alot more out of a listening experience. *Replace 127 w/ Inception. Its pretty good.

  • @Moonburst12 Sadly TKS is possibly favored. Stupid Harry Weinstein.

  • @MovieReviews4U Sad but true. He got the golden globe (Which btw were compleate bogus this year) so why not give the Oscar to somone else who did a better job :P.

  • @MovieReviews4U NVMIND totally read your post wrong. thought you said TSN. Not TKS. Heheh my bad >_<

  • @Moonburst12 How to Train your Dragon absolutely deserves to win. It's, by far, the best of the five. But it most likely won't. It would be great if it did, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but it's very unlikely. Unfortunately, The King's Speech is getting this one. Which is a shame, because Desplat has done much, much, better.

  • @mign82 As the race progressed I also realized that, but hey the vote still might split. Plus its just an honor to be nominated anyway.

  • 1. The Social Network

    2. 127 Hours

    3. Inception

    4.How to Train your Dragon

    5. The King's speech

  • 1. The Social Network

    2. 127 Hours

    3. Inception

    4. The King's Speech

    5. How to train your dragon ( I think this one has no chance to win)

  • 127 Hours easily takes the crown. Its music is one of the kind, while other scores r the usual grand symphony and such, 127 Hours soundtrack offers a very personal and intimate music. Not to mention, a good blend between Western and Indian flavor. A FRESH, never heard before kinda music. Oscar is for 127 Hours Music! :)

  • 127 hours is different..and sounds like a winner

  • PENOSO

    XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • @janelee93 hey! nice picks ;)

    Mine would be:

    1- TSN

    2- HTTYD

    3- Inception

    4- 127 Hours

5- TKS ('The Ghost Writer' score was way better)

  • At 9:36 listen that extra background music....wow (headphone on)

  • 127 Hours got very different but amazing tune........

  • should be ar rahman . if not for the score, alteast for the uplifting song ' if i rise '

  • Thank you!

  • 127 Hours is unparalled. Rahman s the winner

  • 127 Hours deserves the win.

  • AR Rahman for 127 hours !

  • penoso

  • @Wolfriwi Curax? XD qué te pasa :(

  • @Wolfriwi JAJAAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJ

  • eres famoso yogui

  • @Macktendo puedo morir feliz wn xDDDDD >_< !!!

  • it has to be Desplat or Zimmer!

  • @empte77 Indeed, the Reznor/Ross team deserves the award ( ¿why does your comment appears as "spam"? :S )
