Really, a ladder is ingenious? A triumph of human spirit? I guess I should be a bit more proud of myself the next time I go digging around in the attic.

@gamutant the two ladders were disguised as banners carried on the march, which fooled the NYPD. Also the march itself around a few blocks was a deceit, allowing the protesters to get close to the fence and then they stopped, clogged up the sidewalk and used their bodies as a buffer to reveal the ladders and get them in place with the NYPD helpless to do anything for many minutes. Try that in your attic;)

It’s an attempt to carve out a protected space, a living conscience for the city, amid the repression. A refuge, in a city where control-freaks would sweep us under the rug, and out of the way. In a city where they would pen us in, and permit us to death...“move on, move on”..... you don’t belong, you don’t count, you don’t have a right to be here...don’t assemble, don’t block the street, don’t trespass, don’t EXIST! They would deny us, deny our lives, deny our very futures. IF WE LET THEM.

This is a great angle of this event. On the march side, we totally freaked out when the staircases came out (I was expecting bolt-cutters). The only thing that marred the action was the two posers that kept some of us from going over. I'm not sure who the pin-up girl was, but she really wanted to shine at the movement's expense. I am super proud to be a part of OWS!

The best part? THE POLICE IN THE BACKGROUND ARE VIDEOTAPING THIS EVENT! Love it. I bet they're thinking, "These Americans are the best!". :D
