The killer whales are not kept in the "tiny pool" everyone is ranting about, that is just their performance area, where they are kept is much larger and has plenty of space for them. Whales bred in captivity cannot be reintroduced into the oceans because they are used to clean water and the bacteria in the oceans would kill them.
How about doing some research before making seaworld look like villains. This was just an unfortunate accident.

@coloash10 They are not forced to do tricks, they use positive reinforcement when training and performing. You can not force any animal to do anything, and they don't suspend their amount of food if they don't cooperate. But your idea sounds good.

@mousev32 it is cruel because they were not raised in captivity. tilikum was caught when he was 2 years old, he knew what it meant to be free. and it is cruel because you need to look not only at whales as a whole but also at the individuals, 40 animals that will suffer in those little tanks for people's amusement until they die.

I mean yeah the tanks are pretty big at seaworld but that's like a person being stuck in their house forever. Sure it's enough space to live in but dont you want to see what's outside the box? and I feel bad for the orcas like Lolita and Morgan that are in bathtub sized tanks, Lolita needs to be retired and Morgan needs to be free with her family! I feel bad for the orcas and dolphins that are in aquariums. They are sooo stressed that they would turn on a human being. It's all for the $ and if they really cared to for the animals they wouldn't have taken them from the families and put into a concert tank. I get that Tilikum has no teeth left to ever be able to hunt in the wild but it's just sad to see him on the top of the water when orcas can swim 80-100 miles a day:-/
To everyone complaining about the orca being in a tank: Tilicum was captured at two years old. He's not wild, and he would not survive in the wild any more than Keiko did. Keiko lived 5 years in the wild before dying, and was three years old when captured. He lived to be 26; about 5 years older than sexual maturity. And before you complain about the aquarium itself, Orca are rated Conservation Dependent. How many species have escaped extinction and been reintroduced because of captive breeding?
You see, things like this wouldn't happen though, if the animals weren't there in the first place. I find it cruel on the poor things, The people should think, How would they like it, if they were limited to only a bit of the world? I don't think the whales like being limited to a swimming pool, let them in the ocean, be free. I honestly feel sorry for the trainer aswell though, I just dont think its right to do that to the whales or any other sea creature there.

And the trainers at Sea World know the risks of working with Killer Whales when they apply for the job. But I do agree we should leave the whales alone. The killer whales are not kept in the "tiny pool" everyone is ranting about, that is just their performance area, where they are kept is much larger and has plenty of space for them. Whales bred in captivity cannot be reintroduced into the oceans because they are used to clean water and the bacteria in the oceans would kill them.
How about doing some research before making seaworld look like villains. This was just an unfortunate accident.

Of course the whales are mad! You keep them in a small pool,and make them do tricks for entertainment. I love those shows, But it also isnt right. They are meant to be free!! My cousin is a marine biologist, she said that she wants to be with the animals in the free ocean, she didnt like how sea world kept them in a small space. they are meant to be free :)

My future plans:
- Break the world record for the world's largest pool.
-Rescue captive whales/dolphins of all kinds all around the world.
- Put them in in the pool designed to look like the ocean.
-Let them swim around freely without been forced to do stupid tricks.
This way they won't have to worry on how to survive on nature's ocean yet they won't live in a small whale tank having to do tricks for the public's entertainment.
My plan may sound impossible or ridiculous but I won't give up.

@coloash10 They are not forced to do tricks, they use positive reinforcement when training and performing. You can not force any animal to do anything, and they don't suspend their amount of food if they don't cooperate. But your idea sounds good.

I mean yeah the tanks are pretty big at seaworld but that's like a person being stuck in their house forever. Sure it's enough space to live in but dont you want to see what's outside the box? and I feel bad for the orcas like Lolita and Morgan that are in bathtub sized tanks, Lolita needs to be retired and Morgan needs to be free with her family! I just think captivity is cruel and needs to be stopped.

I feel bad for the orcas and dolphins that are in aquariums. They are sooo stressed that they would turn on a human being. It's all for the $ and if they really cared to for the animals they wouldn't have taken them from the families and put into a concert tank. I get that Tilikum has no teeth left to ever be able to hunt in the wild but it's just sad to see him on the top of the water when orcas can swim 80-100 miles a day:-/

To everyone complaining about the orca being in a tank: Tilicum was captured at two years old. He's not wild, and he would not survive in the wild any more than Keiko did. Keiko lived 5 years in the wild before dying, and was three years old when captured. He lived to be 26; about 5 years older than sexual maturity. And before you complain about the aquarium itself, Orca are rated Conservation Dependent. How many species have escaped extinction and been reintroduced because of captive breeding?

I find it cruel on the poor things, The people should think, How would they like it, if they were limited to only a bit of the world? I don't think the whales like being limited to a swimming pool, let them in the ocean, be free. And the trainers at Sea World know the risks of working with Killer Whales when they apply for the job. But I do agree we should leave the whales alone. They are much happier in the ocean where they belong! :) <3

The Killer whale in the video reminded me of when I watched Free Willy with my cousins. They freed him when some guys were trying to kill Willy. They should just let animals live in their natural habitat = the wild. Because We're a threat to most animals and they try to defend themselves but end up killing humans
